The snake arched its spine. "What's law is law," it hissed in a voice of ice. "I am no coward." And in a flash of blinding white, a large white fae stood there, regal and powerful. Commanding and clever. And she was smiling at Siveria. "I accept that challenge." She raised her muzzle to call forth her servants. "Zeffen, Sylvana, Scar, Snare, Risika, Assyria, and Guts! I chose you seven to fight beside me to the death, or to your limit!” Her red eyes flashing, she howled, “If you do not believe you can continue to fight, please turn back now! If not… show me the strength of the blood in your veins!”
Zeffen slid across the edge of the cliff, but dug his heels into the earth to avoid plummeting down. He slowly crawled to a stand… and heard his name. He padded over to stand proudly beside Verlust, growling. He eyed Arroyo again… I’ll finish him off…
Arroyo nodded to the other wolf. “Thank you… but I need to help Siveria.” And then he heard his name. He heaved himself onto his paws, coughing up bile… but strengthened for battle. He turned to look towards Siveria and the snake… His heart twisted terribly, hurting him more than his wounds were burning. The snake is going to kill her… I saw it. I SAW IT. He limped forward, breathing irregularly. I need to talk to Siveria…

Guts stepped proudly next to her leader. She smiled in her devilish little way. Those fools. she scoffed to herself.

Sylvana stepped forward, lightly brushing her fur against Zeffen's. She was privately nervous about this. Verlust hadn't mentioned it before... what exactly was about to go down here? And why did Siv and Verlust look so...happy, almost? Was this some sort of bipolar wolf thing, now?
Risika stepped forward as well, eyes flashing with crimson hatred. She would prove herself today. She would prove she could be loyal; loyal to Verlust. SHE would end the bloodline of Sky and Wind herself. Liviana was right in front of her...inches away....and when this was all over, she could seek out that other one, Fade.... yes, she would be Verlust's most prized servant...
Snare crouched low to the ground, a malicious laugh peeling from her throat. "Let's play, then! Snare's getting hungry!" She cackled, referring to her sometimes cannibalistic nature. "Oooh, let's rip out their hearts! Delicious, Delicious!" She shrieked, prowling another inch forward. Her gaze never left Blue Moon, and it made the young neophyte a bit uneasy...
Assyria was the last to take her place. She showed no emotion as she joined the line of seven. So was this really how it all ended? This was it? Okay... but what about her father? What would he do to her if she survived? And what would Babylonia say, now? That she's proud of me and to keep on fighting! Assryira licked her fur to flatten it the stretched out her calws, ready to rip and tear.

Verlust took a few paces back. "I trust you all heard Siveria's rules?" she woofed to her followers. "In that case, I give you all permission to begin-- on Siveria's count." The white femme glanced at the SilverMist leader. "If that is alright with her?"
Zeffen's paws itched to sink into Arroyo's already damaged frame.
Arroyo arrived, panting. He looked at Siveria, eyes softened and sorrowful at the same time. "Siveria..." he whispered to no one in particular. After a moment, he suspected that he had said it to himself.

(Snare reminds me slightly of Slash Cannibalistic, psyco, and at the same time, completly sane. XD) Faun looked confidently at Guts who was standing infront of her. She growled low in her throat, and so did Guts. Guts inched foreward, hackles raised, ready to spring and give Snare a little peice of dessert.

You put a bullet in my head....turned black thoughts to red...
Siveria nodded. She paused, waiting for her warriors to show they were ready. She glanced for a long time at them all, then turned back to the rest of her pack. She gave them the truest, most beautiful smile she could muster. No words; just a smile before she turned back to Verlust. She sighed, then nodded. "Alright then....."
She turned her head up, let out three short, harsh barks, then dashed for Verlust, claws outstretched. She narrowed her eyes to slits, and sunk her claws into the white godess's chest, relishing in the blood that oozed out, sticky on her claws.
Blue Moon darted, deciding that his safest bet would be to attack Assyria. However, before the young'un made it to his target, Snare cut him off, cackling like a rabid wolf. "No, no, no! Not so fast, scrumptious! SNARE'S HUNGRY!!" she howled with laughter, as if someone had just told the most hilarious joke...for instance, the possibility that cats could be of the vampiric variation...and have wings...but anyway, the point was, this was SCARY laughter. It echoed across the rocks and pounded in Blue Moon's ears. Without thinking, he slashed Snare across her face with a forepaw, a move he would soon regret. Snare's laughter stopped abruptly, and the wolf looked like a fiend of hellfire. "You'll regret that, play toy..." she prowled forward, circling Blue Moon with practiced ease. "Here....I...come!"
Risika ran for Liviana, aiming to land on her back. Liviana saw this maneuver coming, however, and dodged out of the way. She tripped Risika with her back leg and gave the tyrant and a good slash across the flank.
Sylvana aimed for Tundra, and Assyria went for Torn.
Siveria released Verlust and aimed a slash acorss the wolf's muzzle. "You're weaker than I thought," Siv grunted after a while of this. "I thought I'd actually die today, ya know?" She laughed.

Verlust smiled, seemingly pleased by Siveria's words and taunts some way or another. "Well, you can be sure that the GoldenWolf-- wherever the hell that coward is-- has something planned for us." She swiped at Siveria, impaling her shoulder with long, razor-like claws. "At least, I'm sure."
And Zeffen was upon him. Arroyo snarled as the BloodMist warrior slammed into him. Get off! Get off! Arroyo kicked up, bloodloss suddenly making him feel dizzy. "Siveria," he whispered again, looking in her direction, mind still spinning.

Torn growled and lept, scoring Assyria in the back, landing on his paws behind her.
Faun ran to help Blue Moon, but was crushed under the weight of Guts. The Blood Mist ripped at her spine. Faun howled and flipped, sliding under Guts and ripping open her belly.
Don't you see their bodies burning desolate and full of yearning? Dieing of anticipation? Choking from intoxication? I want you to be left behind those empty walls. I want you to see from behind those empty walls... Those empty walls.... You'll waste your time on coffins today...

Siveria winced slightly, but continued scoring Verlust's flank. "I don't believe in your tales of a Golden Wolf;; he is no ruler in my eyes, and there is no such pack as Golden Mist;; only the seasons and the four rulers of legend!" She pressed forward, pushing Verlust slightly away from the others. She wanted to get closer towards the edge of the rockface, hoping to used it to her advantage...
Assyria squealed with fear and squirmed away from Torn, bleeding slightly and quivering all over. "P-Please don't k-kill me!" The young neophyte begged, She was sopping with blood and tears from a wound in her stomach. The tear in her belly went from her neck to her bottom. Assyria had literally been torn in half by...er...Torn. Her entrials stained the rocks and her fur. The lonely pup was an utter mess, and she was sneezing blood all over the place. "P-please..." she gurgled helplessly.
Snare pinned Blue Moon down so that his head hung off the rocks. "And now, I will cut you! I will make you HURT BAD!!" She wailed. "First, I will shred your stomach! Then, I will EAT IT!!" She roared once more with freakish laughter.
Liviana and Risika were in a heated fight at the moment. They circled each other tightly, gazes not leaving their opponent. "Do you fear death, Liviana? Do you fear blood? Your coward of a mother did..." Risika drawled. "No. My mother had the courage to leave your foul pack!" Liv howled. She lunged, missing Risika by a fraction and landing against black rocks, scratching them deeply.
Sparks flew up from the long scars Liv had made in the rockface. They settled on the few dried grasses that poked through the cracks in the stone. Liviana winced, but was glad it hadn't amounted to much. She stood, up, slipping a seconds time. More sparks. She turned and dashed towards Risika. Risika raced to meet her. They clashed in the center. Both went flying in the direction they'd come, scratching the rocks even deeper.
Fire.

Verlust's eyes flashed. "Ahh, you are right and wrong at the same time... GoldenWolf is still here. He is still around. But you are right about another thing..." She countered Siveria's move by scoring her across the forehead. "...he is no ruler." They were even closer to the mountainside now.
Zeffen emitted a sadistic snarl. "Ahh, whelp-- how do you feel now that I have you by the throat?" He lunged, fangs clamped about Arroyo's neck and running along his veins. "Go ahead-- I'll let you say goodbye to your precious love..."
"NO!" Arroyo howled, twisting his neck around. In his action, he forced Zeffen's fangs through his neck. In his action, tears of agony dripped from his eyes. In his action, he bit down on Zeffen's muzzle as the BloodMist warrior began to scream in pain. In his action, his flank... his legs... his ears... the sides of his face... was all of blood. In his action, he threw and Zeffen back and into the ground with a crack and tossed his head back, blood flowing from his neck, howling, "SIVERIA-- FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING AND NOTHING, LISTEN TO ME!!"
Verlust, hearing Arroyo's insane cry, paused for a brief moment, staring past Siveria and at the wolf. Her ears were erect in surprise.

(woooowwww)
Torn stopped where he was. He turned and nudged Assyria. "Come with me. I'm not going to hurt you." Torn disappeared into the bushes.
Faun kicked Guts away from her and guts slammed into a tree.
Faun ran and jumped on Snare, pulling her back. "GET OFF HIM!"

Siveria's eyes widened with suprise. Flames had surrounded her and Verlust. There was the smallest gap, and in that gap, she saw only Arroyo. Her lover, her protector, her beta, her everything was standing before her, calling her name. "A-Arroyo?" she called, her voice was scarcely audible, yet she was sure he'd heard her. For a moment, Siv forgot about Verlust. She took a few steps forward, careful no to get too close to the fire. "A-Arroyo?" she called again, a little louder, but only slightly.
In that moment, Siv realized she was crying. Crystal-like tears poured from her ice blue eyes. He was all she saw; he was her vision. She could not live, she could not breathe, without Arroyo. He was what kept her afloat when all else failed. He was her brand of heroin;; an uncurable addiction. She would never be able to get enough but she knew they could no longer be. She knew that today was her death day...
Never again would they lie beside the river, limbs tangled comfortably in the deepest sleep a wolf could have;; a lovers' sleep. Never again would he wake her with that tender caress. Never again could she look to him in a time of darkness;; the darkness had drowned out even the light he'd cast upon her. So this was what it meant to die....
Love. It's a curious thing. It is claimed to be a mere myth by some;; something for princesses and fairy tales. Not for real, breathing, living, beings. Others say it is the realest thing in existence, that it can right all wrongs and perfect even the most tattered of souls. And still others say it is hell and agony. Nothing is forever, so how could love last? And when it ends, you break through the rocks at the bottom and are forced to live in a place where no lights shine;; that one person, the light of your world, is extinguished. Siv felt herself slipping. She felt the rocks beginning to break....
"Arroyo...I.....I love you!" She screamed the last three words, desperate for him to know, to hear, to accept them. "I LOVE YOU!!" The fire was closing in on them now, and Siv swallowed the foul-tasting bile that had risen in her throat. "I love you." she whispered, not blinking as the flames started to crowd the path from him to her.
"Like the rising tide, beating hearts go but never die, to simplify, I'll stand by your side, close my eyes, hope we'll never die..."
Then, something utterly amazing happened. She was infuriated. She'd expected to break down and sob at Verlust's feet, to beg for mercy, to raise up that white flag as her lover was ripped away from her... But no,....this was different....
Waves of bittersweet nostaligia crashed over her along with the anger. But the anger was the worst....it burned down, deep inside of her spirit.
"Why is he gone?!" She snarled aloud, not quite realizing Verlust was still there. "Because of HER!!!" She screeched, whirling towards Verlust. She prowled forward with an uncharictaristic gleam in her eyes. "No, no....something happened...he stopped loving you a long time ago, Siv, you were just too damn blind to see it!" She shook her head back in forth. Something wasn't right here... "NO! You did nothing wrong! It's her fault now KILL her and you can be together again!!" "Stop it! You know that we'll never be! Arroyo is FINE without ME!!!" "You're kidding yourself. You still love him, damnit, now FIGHT FOR HIM!" "HE DOES NOT GIVE A SHIT!" "YES HE DOES--" "NOT! BUT REGARDLESS, I'M GOING TO KILL THAT FUCKING BITCH FOR WRECKING MY LIFE!!"
Siveria had cracked.

Verlust took a small pace back, raising her muzzle. Peculiar.
Arroyo looked as if he had been struck across the face… struck hard. Looking straight into her eyes, without flinching, he spoke, his voice slightly cold… but firm. “I deny that with all my heart… Siveria, I love you. I won’t let you doubt that.” Inhaling sharply, his voice began to grow fainter. His eyes softened… and became sorrowful. Guilty, even. He turned away from her, staring out admist the chaos and destruction of the war. “You couldn’t be more far off…” Scarlet flashes and sadistic images greeted him as he closed his eyes, and he winced painfully. Siveria… she is the silver. “The problem is that I don’t want to loose you.” Inclining his head until his whiskers nearly brushed his forepaws, he spoke in a shaky, almost frightened whisper. “I’m afraid, Siveria.” It was the first time he had said those words. Arroyo resembled a defeated warrior, one who had lost an impossible battle. All this time he had known that the other forces were stronger, were going to win. But he had cast himself into blind denial, refusing to give in and sent his army out to meet the opponent. He resembled the warrior, the last one standing above the decaying corpses of his fallen comrades… the warrior who finally realized that, after all this fighting, it had been pointless. All along, he had known who the winner would be. But he had been too stubborn, to blind to realize it. Arroyo resembled that warrior, kneeling over his comrades and weeping, wanting so badly to change the outcome. And then he was screaming. "I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE!" And it was at those words that he admitted to himself that Siveria was going to die… It was at those words that he clamped his eyes tightly shut… And it was at those words that tears began sliding down the sides of his face. "I LOVE YOU SIVERIA! I ALWAYS WILL! AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU KILLED!" And a desperation, too, haunted his words.

(Okay... struggling with my tears now... "I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE!" *sob* I agree with Arroyo on that one...)
The words from Siveria sent blood couring through Faun's veins, and she gripped tightly at Snare. She threw the fae across the rocks. She rammed hard into her side. She ripped in her stomach. She ripped at her neck. She clawed her eyes. She did anything but give the fae mercy. She turned to Guts and stabbed her paw straight into Guts's chest. The Blood Mist fell to the ground, pouring blood. She coughed, sputtering blood. Coughing it up. Faun was inraged and her eyes were newly opened. She began screaming to the sky. It was rather scary. "Don't you see their bodies burning? Desolate and full of yearning? Dieing of anticipation? Choking from intoxication? I want you to be leaft behind those empty walls. I taught you to see behind those empty walls. THOSE EMPTY WALLS! THOSE F****** WALLS!"

[ www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHUmv8yfR3I I couldn't resist....it's too fitting...play it in the background...] The fire had them circled off from the others, trapped in a small, heated place. Siveria froze, hearing Arroyo's last words struck so much pain in her she felt nearly crippled. He knew....it wasn't long before her son and daughter knew, too....it wasn't long before they all knew... "I'll wait here for you....in my time of dying..." she muttered. She shook herself, turning her thoughts back to the task at hand. This was her day to die, but she would go down swinging. If she could give Arroyo and her children and her dear pack just one more thing, she would. Right now, the only thing she could give was her life. She hoped to Lupus that would be enough... She rammed into Verlust's flank, pressing her whole weight into the wolf's side. "FACE ME, COWARD!" She howled shredding her sides. The fire roared, circling in closer and closer towards the battling duo. There was a large ripping noise, and then it became terrible clear. The rockface was breaking off the side of the mountain, threatening to throw the two down towards a rather painful death. Siv didn't see this, nor did she care. There were ledges below them, so she knew she wouldn't fall straight for her death. So this is what it's like to battle on the edge of the world... She aimed for Verlust's eyes, intending to blind her, or at least partially disable her vision. Siv was so infuriated, so set on harming Verlust, she'd let down her defenses. The falmes licked at her pelt, singing sparkling silver to dull black. {Wreck Havoc, Wolfie =] } Snare kicked Faun in the stomach with her hind legs, spitting crossly at having her meal so *rudely* interrupted. She cut a straight line across Blue Moon's throat, grinning widely and licking up the crimson river that gushed forth. Blue Moon saw nothing, only blood. It dripped down and from his throat, into his eyes, all over. There was no escaping the red, sticky prison that had been forged for him. He'd known his chances of surviving were slim, so this came to no shock to him. At least he'd died a child of prophecy. And he would put up one last fight.... Blue Moon lunged upward, Catching Snare by suprise and causing her to tumble off the ledge. She managed to catch a hold on the rocks. Blue Moon rush towas her, intending to knock her paws from the cliff. Two things happened at once: Blue Moon knocked away her paws and she caught a hold of him. The two fell slowly, or at least it seemed everything was now in slow motion. Blue Moon was impaled by the flint rocks, the black stone piercing right throw his body and emerging from the depths of his stomach. Blood squirted and burst forth like a fountain in every direction, covering the onlookers and staining the scene. Snare was next, landing a few feet away, mangled and broken. Through her flank, a sharp stone had embedded itself. The two fallen warriors didn't move an inch. Nor would they ever.
