Lucinda howled her grief and fury to the clouds. Why did SHE of all wolves have to fall in love?

((Break down? Hehe...))
Diablo crept up from the side, hidden under a bush. For the first time in a long, long while, he looked at her. At her beautiful fur, and tried to see her eyes. She was turned away, and he couldn't. Diablo turned away self-conciously.

Lucinda raked her claws across a smooth rock. The sound was equivalent to nails on a chalkboard. Sh turned and laid down on the rock, her eyes flashing from blue to silver.

((What the heck does silver mean??))
Diablo looked again, trying to adjust his view as quietly as possible. Then a though struck him. What if she is the reason for my emotions? He shook his head, trying to clear the thought away.
Unseen by either wolf, Lupus was next to Lucinda, watching. He was a ghost, and had not revealed his presence to either of them. He was in the form of a fox, ears perked and watching the young medicine wolf.

Lucinda flexed her claws with anger as the feelings continued to overtake her. She slipped and tumbled down the rocks. A trickles of blood oozed from her flank. She laid there, panting.

"Get up, child," Lupus whispered in her ear, the form of the black fox still invisble. All Lucinda would hear was his voice.

Lucinda struggle to her paws, retched, and tediously climbed back up the rocks.

"The emotions of loyalty are connected with this?" The fox's wispy and wise voice echoed.

Lucinda shook her head. "I think it's something else," she barked hoarsley.

"And what would that be?" the invisible fox asked softly.

Her body shook in a series of spasms. She was suddenly still and calm. Calmer than she had been in ages. She accepted it. "Is it possible that what I could be feeling is love? Like the love a she-wolf has for her pups ant mate."

The fox froze, blood running cold. He turned into a mountain lion, growling. He made himself visible to Lucinda, but only to Lucinda. "Do not mention love to me..." Lupus growled, fur bristling. "There is loyalty, but there is no love!"

She stood tall. "Surely even you realize that if Blood Mist had no love, they would not worship you as passionatley as they do! If Blood Mist had no love, there would be no pups. Without pups, the pack would die out!" She narrowed her eyes. "But I will not mention that to you again, Father." She bowed her head respectively.

The mountain lion was panting, and for the first time in decades, his eyes had a hidden pain. "Thank you, Lucinda," he replied. He shrunk to the form of a raccoon, and climbed up beside her. "Are you postitive of this loyalty?"

Lucinda's gaze was sharp and clear. "These past few days, I have been in denial. My mind has been unhinged. My mind is clear now, and I understand. Yes, Father, I am sure of it."
