Moon flicked her ears curiously. "And just why wouldn't I be alive?" Moon asked curiously, head turned toward Shade's voice. Ebony moved to one side to watch the two with a fairly interested look on his face. Shade had been gone a long time but there were still parts of their family missing. Ebony couldn't deny his heart was a bit lighter knowing his son and daughter were still fairly healthy and somewhat happy.

Shade lowered his head toward her. "...let's just say that I don't have a great faith in life anymore... I couldn't help but worry about you." He sighed. "I don't care if your blind or not-- but I'm not even sure that Appocalipto is alive anymore." He frowned deeply. "...I've heard things-- seen things-- and I'm just thanking the gods above that you're alright."
True enough, a new pattern of scars was brandished under his left leg, sore and still scabbing over. As it turned out, Magnus was not the only wolf in the forest searching for a slave...

"I've had wolves helping me" Moon explained, shifting her weight slightly. Since Zenya had run off somewhere, Moon had begun hanging around with Remus and Remy, two close-knit brothers, one of whom was battling the sickness and nearing his death. The poor wolf had been ill most of his life but the sickness was taking it out of him. "I don't have to see things to know things are bad now" Moon murmured, remembering the stench of death around Star, the feeling of sorrow on Kuroshin and the misery from Remy as he watched his brother cough blood but being unable to help.

Ebony sighed softly, repressing a coughing fit. He was an old wolf, ready to accept his fate. If he was destined to die of the sickness, so be it but he wouldn't worry his children now with his hintings of bad health. Since leaving the Yozorans, Ebony had kept to himself mostly and partially he did that to keep the sickness from spreading to the others though the other Sheeran elders were also seeming ill.
