The brute nodded. "I know the feeling." He glanced at Fate. "...do you have anyone? Any family?" He hoped he didn't provoke her or anything... he was just curious.

She shook her head painfully. She did somewhere.. her father which she desperately hoped she never met and her siblings which she hopes day to day to meet someday.
"No.. " she said. "Well.. maybe somewhere..."

Athame frowned. "I am sorry," he murmured softly, sympathetic to the fae. She... she looks like Mischa he thought to himself.

She tried to sit into a sitting position. It was quite painful so she gave up. Her broken leg moved position it a very odd shape.

Athame glanced at her. "I should give you a splint, shouldn't I?" He left the den, and not long after returned with cobwebs and a piece of bark from a fallen tree. "Err... this might hurt," he woofed, kneeling beside Fate. He began the work of straightening the leg and making a "cast" for it.

"Couldn't hurt anymore than it already does." she said bleakly and closed her eyes tight. She waited for pain. More pain.. what was the difference?

Silently, the black wolf wrapped her paw in cobwebs, fastening the splint onto her. The leg should heal properly after this... He stepped back after finishing, bowing his head to the fae. "I hope the splint doesn't bother you?"

"After that?" she said in sarcastic shock. She smiled her ivory-scarlet smile. This was probably the worst day of her life and she was smiling.. wow.

(amazing : Athame glanced at his paws, still uncomfortable. It was beginning to show, as his hackles were spiking in a defensive bristle... as if he were ready to be attacked at any moment. "...can you walk?"

"N-nothing," he replied, stuttering the words. The assassin glanced over his shoulder. He knew that Turpin wouldn't come searching for him unless Athame were gone for a few days... but he was still wary. "..you just remind me of someone, is all..." He bit down, hard, on his tongue. It was the truth.

"Oh.." she said. There must me something else bothering him.. she thought kindly. She perked her ears.. she smelt caribou. She got up and walked with the splint slowing her. She sat with disapointment.

"Your leg should heal in about a few weeks time," Athame remarked. He flexed his sickle-like claws. "...a-are you hungry?" He glanced up at her... and looked away quickly. The last time her saw Mischa, she was being devoured alive by half-rabid wolves.

She hobbled quickly over to him and with her nose move his chin her way facing his eyes to hers. She looked at him with kind, warm eyes. Her tail hung limp and useless behind her.. though her tail was cracked in half her eyes told everything.

Athame was forced to look into those eyes... those eyes that were so forgiving and compassionate that he was frightened right out of his skin. He jumped back, ears folded back and his fur standing on end. "Y-you have the same color eyes!" he yelped, backing into the wall of the tree.
