Mist and Owen carried the body of Laika to the center of their camp, where they layed her down beneath the stars. "Oh Laika...how I wish it had been me in your stead...." She turned and stepped onto the white stone and howled a mournful howl of gathering.
Owen bowed his head low, tears still rolling down his cheeks. Why her? Why?
Winnie and Rye appeared, eyes wide with shock and sorrow. They had left the gathering early with everyone else because the leaders had sensed something stirring. Apparently they'd found the black deed, but who had committed the terrible murder?

Babe let out a mournful howl when he spotted Laika's lifeless body. No, wait, it was more like a yip. But still, it was all very sad.

Mist began, her voice choked with sorrow and anger, "Our dearest, brave, most beloved Laika was found dead in Yozoran territory. I found one of their neophytes on the scene. When I asked her what had happened, she said that she didn't know!" The last words were spat out with a snarl. "I will complete Owen's warrior ceremony here, then take seven wolves with me to the Yozoran camp to settle this. It may or may not come to a fight. If it does, then by all means we shall show no mercy on their black souls. Should it be so, I will send one of my party back for reinforcements." She paused, then drove on, "Owen, are you ready to defend this pack to the best of your abilities, even at the cost of your life?"
Owen swallowed hard, then nodded. "Yes, I am."
"Then by the powers of Twilight invested in me, I now pronounce you a full warrior of the Sheeran Pack. You will join me on my journey to speak with Light, along with Cassie, Sang, Babe, Lirenia, Rye, and Winnie. The rest of you shall hear from us soon. Let's go!" She howled, led her order of angry, revenge-hungry wolves to the Yozoran border.

Nightlight's eyes widen with a couple of tears going down his cheeks but couldn't do nothing about it. A loss was a loss. Nothing he could do about it, can't bring Laika back. If the neophyte could bring her back then he would but, he just can't.
Flower trusted that Rye and Winnie will come back to the Sheerians with a talk with Light from the Yororan terra. She just knows.
