The words of Silence, or perhaps he should call her Mira, were now echoing in his head as she spoke. And he began to think rapidly to force himself onward. Come now, you can do it. There's nothing stopping you. Nothing holding you back. You must reach the Spirit Wood. Must reach Silence. Your late, your late. What took you so long? An internal battle you say? But what battle could possibly be fought! Reach the wolf. Find the cure. Save your lover. Save Carolina. Stay with her. Wait for her death. Life. Death. Life. Death. No contest. Save Carolina. The soft drumming of paws against earth might have been monotonous. Yet there was no sound, only the silence that seemed to envelop the creature. There had been a voice, or so it had seemed, almost like someone calling his name. The forest, he'd known then. The beast had been suspecting for some time now. The cure, Silence was the key to the cure. The mysterious old elder who never spoke. The beast had had many suspicions about her. Many feelings. Was she to be trusted? Wether or not the fae would turn on the chosen wolves, fore there was no way he was the only one, it would be impossible for him to find a cure on his own, Silence must be trusted. Fore above all else, the cure meant life. Life for Carolina. That was the only thing that he wanted, the only thing he needed. Carolina. Carolina. Carolina. You must do this. It's for Carolina. How long did he run? How far did he go? Where was he even headed? Mind had ceased to work, heart fought against insane emotions, soul and being guided the beast onward. Onward, always onward. It can't be much farther. Wherever I'm meant to go. I don't know if I've been told. I can't remember. All I know is that there must be a cure. All I know is Carolina. That was the moment that the strangely midnight blue optics of the beast landed on the divine creature that he had been called to the Spirit Wood by. It was also when he saw the other wolves. The eight are assembled. It is only I that is holding them up. I should apologize, but speak I will not. My voice will not work properly right now. My being is far to clouded with emotion. I must cleanse myself. The brute stopped before coming into view. Maw was opened wide and a deep breath was taken. Figure was fully relaxed, all thoughts of everything disintegrating for the moment. He was cleansed and prepared for whatever task he had to now preform. Stepping into view he made his way towards the other wolven, towards Silence, and remained standing. Waiting for the instructions he knew would now come. He had always known, in a way that had not allowed him to know.

Artem lay with his head between his paws, watching around the clearing for any sign of the late wolf. When he finally saw him, the brute sat up. The hour had come. The nine were all here.

Anelie ripped her eyes from Coal and leaped to her feet. She glanced anxiously around for Silence. He's here Silence, you can speak, you can give us the instructions...

Silence's eyes were wide. Ember how far...? I'm not going to tell you that, Mira....it might be in your best interest to get them in there...NOW. Silence sighed heavily, then stood. Parting her maw, the terribly scent entered her mouth;; the scent of her killer. She shook her head to clear her thoughts, then began. At first, her voice was a whisper, but as it climbed higher into the words woven for her tongue, it began to seem other-wordly. "I took one big breath, That was the end. I will learn to live again, Until then, I'm broken. I coughed, I shed, I shoved, I bled. Still no prevail. I need to break out. The nine is the key. The drug is the cure. Now run, Don't scream. The war lives on."
"Enter the woods before you, one by one. Whatever you do, look nowhere in the dark. No matter what you hear don't turn back and try and help me. When she enters this place, there is a crack that will come to the surface. You will then have exactly nine minutes before it severs the woods between your home. Inside, your senses will be attacked. You must fight this, and by fighting it and succeeding, an image of part of the cure will be given to you, as well as how to find it in the forest. You are responsible for one part, and one part of nine only. Don't return until all of you have your part...or it won't work. I will do my best to hold her here, but I can give you no promises." Silence was pacing again. She stopped, eyes grim and determined. "Go." As if on cue, the white blur erupted from the wolven home and had Silence pinned in a blink. Silence rolled and lashed out at her attacker, slicing into her neck. "GO!" She howled. And know that you could've saved yourselves more trouble, had you remembered to kill Lily, daughter of Bloodsbane!

Go one by one. Don't look in the dark. Don't turn back. Simple enough. The brute did not bother to toss his ebony blueish crown to and fro to see which of the wolven would go first. The beast had already made his decision. It would be him. Suddenly the brute lept forward. Past Mira and her attacker. Past the others. Into the Spirit Wood. Into the dangerous realm. Show it to me Mira. What must I find. What part must I play.

A moment of hesitation overtook Sirius as Silence began to speak but the blur of white that shot past him was enough the jar him into motion. Though he was unwilling to leave a wolf to fight alone, it had to be done. At least it was a one on one fight. Mira or Silence, whatever her name was, had known what she was getting into. Heart pounding Sirius leapt forward and bounded toward the Spirit Wood. With each step his heartbeat stuttered and he felt like something heavy had settled on his back and refused to be removed. Responsability or elsewise, Sirius knew he had to do as Silence instructed. Keep your eyes from the darkness. Find your part....your part of what? The cure? Instinct seemed to kick in and everything fell unnaturally silent or maybe it was insanity setting in, maybe just panic. He couldn't tell anymore.

Instantly, black and silver wraiths could be seen, their screams echoing loudly off of the shimmering surfaces. The darkness was overpowering the light... Come and see her! Come and see who we've slain! Come, come, Sothis! You won't regret it....no,no.... You're far too late. For here, now, we've slain your lover! Cold, maniacal cackling broke out and rang into the wolves' ears.
Kunai entered after Sirius, trembling at the flashing lights before him. It was almost impossible to move, for once you set a paw forward, the land underpaw took on a whole new form and meaning.
Or you, Siruis? We've got quite a few of you in here, too....but they gave you too much trouble, didn't they? Always pesky ones, weren't they?! The darkness growled, surrounding the newcomers. Silver wolves were running hard towards their area. They wouldn't hold the place for long....
Images of Nirvana and Star were added to Carolina's.
"STAR!" Kunai howled, eyes watering slightly at the sight of his adoptive mother, and fallen mentor. "No...no this isn't right...." he muttered, fiercely trying to control himself. "Silence said we had to fight this...."

Images flashed in Sirius's vision, haunting voices making his ears twitch. No. I must resist. The alpha clenched his jaw and forced himself to keep going. Don't look. No one is there. Only darkness. Don't listen. "Kunai don't listen to them! Star is dead and her soul is with Twilight, not in this place" Sirius barked over his shoudler. He wouldn't let Kunai fall into the darkness nor Sothis. He was Sothis's father and Kunai's alpha. He had to help keep them on the path. Sothis loved Carolina. It was possible he would be swayed by temptations of his love but Sirius wouldn't let them fall. Too much rode on their success. They had to keep running, keep going and fight the darkness that tempted them.

The image. The wolf. The femme that appeared before him. The reason for his life. The only thing he cared about. Dead. Slaughtered. Slain. Or... had he been to late? Had the disease taken her? Either way what happened next was unexpected. The sound that came from the brute's maw was like a scream, if wolves could scream. It was filled with intense overwhelming heartbreak. Fury enveloping his being. The only emotion he had difficulty controlling. No. Must control. Don't think. Don't let it over come you. All wolven kind is depending on you. Don't let yourself go. Not yet. Not yet. The brute moved onward. Tortured optics not gazing into the darkness. But his heart... well... it was as cold and dead as a living wolf's heart could be.One word. One name. It was all he was able to say. "Carolina."

To Asha, her mother appered, Her loving, caring mother. No, she closed her eyes. She looked away. She knew her mother had died, it killed her inside to do this to her mother. No, she couldn't fall for it. She looked away. Turned her ebony fur wet around the eyes. She cleared her mind. Her mother vanished. She wanted to cry out for her, bring her back.

New images found their way to Sirius. This time they were not forgiving nor easy to ignore. They were his friends, his old pack before he had become a Destinian so many moons ago. Each one circled him, howling hauntingly and throwing accusations at him. He had led them to their deaths. No! Sirius's mind rebelled and his paws faultered. He shut his eyes tight and shook his head, flinching as if they were causing physical pain. Go away! Sirius howled in his mind. He didn't kill them..he hadn't meant to lead them wrong...it hadn't been his fault! The specters cackled and continued circling the faltering alpha.

Somehow the ebony blue brute managed to make himself move forwards. Ignore it all. Mira said that we must ignore the distractions. We must be strong. Must find the cure. Wolven kind depends on it. Onwards into the Spirit Woods the brute pressed. Emotions, once again, locked away in the back of his mind. Logic taking over again now. It was then that midnight pools landed on Sirius nearby. "Father.Wolven kind needs you now." Were the simply spoken words.

Sirius's silver eyes snapped open. Someone spoke. The words seemed distant, fogged by the terror and torture the demons imposed on him. Whipping around, Sirius saw Sothis. His eyes fought the burning gaze of the demons. They couldn't hurt him now. They had been his friends. None of them would have done this to him...none of them would try to kill him or hold their deaths against him. Bunching his muscles, Sirius launched himself forward, shoving the spectors aside and staggering to steady himself.
