Mist darted across the border and through the Yozoran terras without even considering her actions. She needed to see Light. Now.
She needed to know if what she'd felt had been real -- not just something she'd been caught up in in the heat of the moment. She needed to know if she wanted to mother his pups. Their pups.
But halfway through the territory, she stumbled, tripping and crashing to the ground with a heavy thump. Cursing loudly, she struggled to stand, but failed.
Well, this looks pathetic. Lovely, just lovely!

Light walked gleefully through the forest. He heard a rustling and whirled, glimpsing white fur.
"MIST!" He practically howled. "Are you okay?" He, being the gentleman he was, attempted to help her up. He offered a strong shoulder.

The kicking stopped...
WHY did the kicking stop...?
"Er...yes. I'm fine." She finally managed to stand, shaking some stray grass blades from her pelt. Again the nauseous mixture of confusion, guilt, and hurt peeled mercilessly over her. Forest was gone....but what if he'd been fatally hurt? What if he hadn't meant to leave her?
And Light was here....but what about the packs?
And what did she owe Forest? Why should she stay stuck in one place?
But is this...real? Do I actually feel anything.
The soft scent of Sparkling Ember filled her nose.
Geeze. I should've died sooner, I never realized how crazy my best friend was! Came her light laugh. She shook herself once more, trying to sift through her thoughts.
But she didn't know how to explain any of this to Light. Not the slightest clue where to start.
"Er...I think it's safe to say Kiba's having her pups. Owen shot out of the camp like wildfire!" She laughed.

Light laughed softly. "It's about time! She was waddling around here like a penguin! And she was trying to hide it, too!"
Light shuffled his paws. It was so uncomfortable being here... discussing a sin. Two wolves breaking the Wolven Code. It was crazy, psychotic. But, it felt right... didn't it?

The horror was still fresh in her veins, but she tried not to show it....she couldn't let Light know. Especailly not after this:
She'd lost the pups.
A simply fall and they'd vanished...
Does that mean when the war finally breaks, we'll be thrashed far from each other....that it won't take much at all for us to break?

Light narrowed his eyes but didn't protest. "Do you want me to walk you back?" He was truely concerned for her.

Mist gave herself a rouch shake, snapping the blurry images into place. "I'm fine, Light." she insisted. "Just a lot on my mind, that's all."

Light nodded. He still wasn't convinced. "You should get back to your territory." He was solemn and collected when he said it. Not one ounce of sadness was there, suprisingly.

Mist snapped.
"Yeah, you know what I SHOULD. I SHOULDN'T be here right now at all! I SHOULDN'T have been there at the Twilight Lake, and I SHOULD renounce all claims to a Yozoran-Sheeran alliance because that could mean disaster and you SHOULDN'T be worth it." She was pacing now, spitting spite.
"But that doesn't make it any easier, and it sure as hell doesn't mean I can." She murmured stopping dead.
"I don't know what's going on, but whatever it is, it's far too late to turn back. I'll leave if you want me to, but only if you want me to leave."

Light winced as if she had just swatted at him. "No... Mist... I..."
"You need to be looked at is all I'm saying." He stared at his paws. "I care about you. I don't want you to get hurt. But, if you hate me that much..."
