Aliya suppressed an irritated growl. "Yes, apparently that's what it always comes down to." Her optics glistened with many an emotion, though sorrow was still strongest there. Oh Sirius... Where are you, my love? I need you!
Aud's were swiveled forward at a strangled yelp. The brute skidded to a halt at the edge of the glistening stream. Optics quickly finding a troubled pup. Fyren, the fiery little thing, was holding on to a slippery rock in the center of the stream. Her claws slipping and the current tugging at her figure. "I'm a coming." The proeliator easily lept into the water. For several feet he could wade, but in the center the brute had to swim a bit.
There was another yelp from farther downstream. The silver figure of Michio was being carried off by the current.

Nightshade dove into the waters, frigid, without hesitation. She wasn't a swimmer, but the old Silver Mist territories were marshy, so she'd had some educaiton in the matter. Her klegs churned the water as she made her way towards Michio. She finally gained a hold of huis scruff, then kicked out, turning towards the shore.

The silver brute whined and went limp in Nighshade's jaws, out of instinct.
Sothis took Fyren in his maw and swam, then waded, back towards the shore. He would have set her down but, with a glance towards Nightshade, the brute began to pad towards the camp once more.
Aliya closed her optics for a moment. Her tail flickering irritatedly as Vetra Vaticana, another of her children, exited to neophyte den. "Aliya, I've not seen my mentor since-" The fae paused at the sigth of Sabela and the other wolven. "Not another one..." Aliya spoke quietly.

The Destinians were suffering, Freya decided, just as much as the dwindling amounts of Siverians. They would definitly work well together, especially against the selfish forces they'd seen of the Yozorans, and most likely the Sheerans.
Nightshade emerged from the waters, then padded back to the camp, fur hanging down like indigo drapes. The mixture of her red and silver-blue patched pelt gave her her violet namesake. She set the pup lightly at Svel's paws.

Fyren swiftly darted between her mother's legs when Sothis set her down. Michio nuzzled Svel, whimpering apologies, and glancing to Nightshade and the other wolven now and then. Svel licked each of her pups furiously. Scolding them in between apologies and thank you's to Nightshade and Sothis.
Vetra moved towards Aliya, and, so quietly that perhaps the beta would hardly even here, whispered a few words in her aud.
Aliya blinked, as if not comprehending, then sighed and nodded. Her optics turned to Sabela. "Sabela, my daughter Vetra Vaticana feels that she may not be destined to be a Destinian. She wishes to become a Siverian, if you will have her."
(*cough*Vetra Vaticana= temporary sort of spy for the Destinians to keep an eye on the Siverians.)

Nightshade glanced at Vetra, an odd look in her eyes. That's....weird.
Freya studied Vetra carefully. They want to keep an eye on us. Well...they'll find nothing that will displease them. Heck, this might even work to our advantage...

The still small figure of Silas, a Herb Healer neophyte, silently entered the camp. The brute disappeared into the Healer's den, a bundle of herbs in his maw, only to reappear moments later. He approached the group of wolven and dipped his head. "Aliya, I have found something that you must see. Immediately."
The beta glanced from her son to the others. The tone of his voice was startling. "I apologize but this seems urgent." She dashed off behind the brute.
Vetra winced and squeezed her optics shut at the outcrys which came soon after Aliya and Silas left.
"SIRIUS! NO! No, no Sirius! No!" The cry's were like screams. They were soon muffled by the loud sobbing of the obviously distressed Aliya. "No my love. No. No. No." The figure that her son, Silas, had managed to drag into view was that of her mate and alpha. Sirius. The scent of rogue was strong and the brute was obviously deceased. The fae buried her face in his shoulder and sobbed almost deliriously.

Freya's eyes were wide, panic pulsating through her as she saw the alphess, drained, effete, broken. She bowed her head in sorrow.
Nightshade was rooted to the ground, barely breathing out of shock and panic. Damn you, Black Fury. And damn you Sheerans and Yozorans to Hellfire!
Fireflight approached, letting out and audible wail, but going to Aliya and offering weak words of comfort.
Carolina watched with a wide, teary gaze. "What...w-what happened?!"

Sothis immediately padded to his mothers side. The brute murmered softly in her aud and licked her comfortingly upon the crown. Silas and Vetra approached as well. The latter attemping to suppress tears at the sight of her deceased father and broken up mother.
Aliya trembled and leaned against the shoulder of her son for support. The fae took deep shaky breaths as Firelight spoke. Gritting her fangs Aliya managed to cease her sobs. "The pack needs you mother." Sothis had spoken very similar words to his father when they had been in the Spirit Wood. And at them Aliya nodded and turned to Firelight. "Please, take his body to the center of the camp. We will mourn this evening." Her voice was somewhat shaky. One final glance was given to the body of her beloved mate, then it turned upon each of her children.
Silas, unable to bear any more, turned and disappeared into the Healer's den.

Fireflight nodded, taking Sirius' scruff, gently, carefully, and moving him to the center of the camp. More wolven had appeared, shocked and infused with an icy greif at the sight of their fallen beta.
Carolina fled to Sothis' side, licking his shoulder, doing all she could in comfort. She, herself, was shaking, but she was determined to be there for her mate.

The brute rocked back on his haunches. Normally so good at keeping his emotions locked up. Not right now. As Carolina came to his side the brute felt hot tears leaving his eyes. Crown was turned and he buried his face in her chest and neck. Figure trembling with silent sobs. Sirius was dead. Mocha, Nutmeg and Skysong had not been sighted for a long time. The three others of his litter. Vetra was leaving to become a Siverian. Silas hardly spoke and Aries and Kilo had not been seen for a while either. Aliya would become alphess now and Sothis new his mother's heart couldn't take much more. The only one the troubled brute had left now was his beloved Carolina.

Nightshade felt as if she was trespassing on something private, though she did feel great sorrow and sympathy for the Destinians. She looked to Sabela, wondering if they would leave soon.
Carolina kept close to Sothis, knowing it was her time to be strong for him. She still felt like a burden from being so sick in the past, and she wanted to do for him what he had done for her, though she scarcely believed it was possible.

The brute shuddered several more times. And even when he removed his face from her fur his figure still trembled. The look in his eyes should tell her what she needed to know. Carolina, I need to just be with you. Away from all this, if only for a few hours. I know a beautiful place, Destiny showed me.

Sabela gave a mournful whimper, her sorrowed eyes glistening with tears. "We will make the decision of Vetra's wanting tonight, and we will return tomorrow." she called softly to Aliya. "We will leave you to mourn your loss," she murmured and flicked her tail towards her patrol. She walked slowly to the entrance, and walked at a brisk pace out into the terras, which quickly evolved into a run.

The fae nodded and moved away to bury her face in the pelt of her mate once again. Sorrow taking over completely now.
Vetra disappeared into the neophytes den.
Svel nudged her pups into the Nursery, out of the way.
