Lyell and Crow had been at work since morning, and now the sun was starting to make its descent, signalling the eveningtime. They had caught four pieces of prey between them, which were all scrawny ferrets and barely enough for one mouthful. In desperation, they'd arrived at the Tumbleweed Hills, which were usually alive and swathed with edible life forms. Now, however, the only rustle in the underbruch was that of the cool wind blowing through the leaves. There were no scufflings, no flapping of wings, no clip-clopping of moose or deer, nothing. It seemed as if the hills themselves had died, and all of the animals were off at the funeral. Where this funeral was remained to be seen, for no matter how hard the two warrior tried, or how carefully they tracked a creature, they would never find anything at the end of their trail. Their bellys growled in protest of their strenuous efforts, starving for a meal.
Crow shook himself, reminding his stomach that the pack came first, and Saskia and his pups still needed to eat. His heart clenched as his thoughts rested on his family. A litter of seven was huge for the Yozorans. Kiba had had seven pups, too, but all the wolves knew three had stayed with Kiba's mate, Owen, in the Sheeran Pack. Mist, rumours told, had also lost Light's pups. So seven, added with Kiba's four, was still a large amount of pups. Crow only could hope that they would have enough food to survive...
Lyell was worried, too. Olive was pregnant, though she hadn't told many others yet. She was a petite thing to begin with, and he couldn't have her thinning out, especially before a birthing.
The twosome glanced at each other, faces grim. "We can't keep on like this....there's no way we can find enough prey to feed the pack tonight..."

The figure that weaved through the terrain was painted a dark crimson shade. The blood had dried to his canvas. Should never have left the terra in the first place. Idiot. Stupid, clumsy, careless, idiot. Should have been paying attention. Optics glimmered with irritation and his walk was stiff and tired. The beta was clearly aggravated with himself at the moment. And by the way his auds were pinned to his skull it probably wouldn't be smart to make him any crosser.

Lyell and Crow noted the entrance of the moody beta. They exchanged a glance, which resulted in an exasperated snort from Crow. "I'm not telling him! He looks pissed at the world!" Lyell muttered. Crow ignored this remark, and marched boldly over to the beta. He'd heard enough wolves yell, and witnessed Saskia and Light exchange many arguments before this. An angered beta didn't change the fact that the prey had vanished. It was Iver's job to help out, and Crow intended to hold him to that.
"Iver!" Crow called. "Lyell and myself have been hunting all day...the food's vanished!" He barked.

The brute seemed as ticked off as could be. Auds swiveled to catch the words that were spoken to him. Crown turned to see Crow, and Lyell. "I'm aware, I chased a rabbit over the edge of a small cliff, and it was a skinny, pathetic looking thing. And it wasn't even in our terra, I ended up out in the loner lands chasing the damnable thing." There was an irritated snort. "We don't have enough darned land. I'm sure the Destinians have plump little bellies. They must the way they reproduce, just like damned rabbits!"

Crow snorted at his remark about the Destinians. "Of course, Iver. Woodland creatures are known for their dullness, though. What plethora of prey they do have will remain plump and uncaught with those dunces lumbering about!" Crow groaned. Lyell snickered at this. "We should sneak over and steal some, eh? Sure, it's against the wolven code, but they didn't exactly leap to help their brothers in the battle against Black Fury. I went with Olive to ask for help, and Sabela, Aliya, and a few other big-shots were just chattering away in the middle of the Destinian camp! Not only did they turn us away...that Nightshade character told us we didn't have the brains of a rabbit! RABBITS! The hypocricy of it all!"

Iver stiffened considerably at the mention of Nightshade. Don't you dare say a bad thing about her... I swear I'll... You'll what? I...I... That wolfs your own packmate I know... You wouldn't ever hurt a packmate, not over Nightshade.. No...Of course not.... In order to hide his reaction to the name he winced. Neck twisting, fangs burrowing into his fur. A small stick, that had been tangled there, was pulled away. Lucky. "Mmm.... No, we shall not steal their prey... not just yet."

Crow smirked at this. "Yet," he agreed, laughing dryly. He and Lyell scented the air again, searching desperately for something edible within their own boundary lines. Lyell slunk away, on the trail of a rabbit. Crow remained however, eyeing Iver gaurdedly. "What's eatin' ya?"

The brute's optics flickered with rage for a moment. "What does it matter." He spat out. Tassel lashing now that it was just he and Crow. The beta seemed destroyed, from the inside out. A deep sigh made its way from his maw. Optics gazed off at something distant. "Loneliness... I suppose... I don't know..." Lies.

The snowy white brujo had gown very thin. He was hardly able to provide food for his pack let alone himself. The prey in this damned forest was growing scarce and when there was any it was too small or too thin so it was hardly a meal. Caspian wondered if any of the other packs were suffering this bad. He had been thinking earlier about this and a simple, but powerful what if question popped into his head.
What if the rest of the packs aren't suffering?
This question and this question alone made a fire of hatred burn in his belly.Caspian knew that this couldn't be possible, but when ever it came to mind he still hated. Light brown eyes setteled on three wolven forms as he was out searching for food... again. A trotted up to the trio.
" I hope I'm not interupting." He saidforcing himself to smile. Doing anything anymore was a chore. Even being his normal cheerful self was hard when he is malnurished.
