The moose was putting up a decent fight, but all Saskia could think about were the pups in the nursery, her family. They were in desperate times, and she couldn't afford to let this moose off easy; none of them could. Digging her claws in deeper, she released the full throttle of her fangs into the moose's neck, hearing a sickening snap as she injected death into it's spine.

Shadow felt the moose getting weaker. She lightened her grip for only a second beofre giving the moose a quick deep bite. She let go and leaped away. She was looking carefully at the wound on the moose's shoulder. She nodded to herself, deciding that it was a good, deep wound.
Axle was also looking at the cut on the moose's neck. "That should kill it."

Saskia turned and leapt off of the moose before it fell. She shook some blood and dust from her pelt, then stepped back to admire their handywork. She nodded, smiling a bit and flicking her tail. "Nice...." She looked up to survery the other moose. They had scattered, but they hadn't gone far. The herd was silhouetted on the skyline. However, if they left the corpse of the moose here, their efforts for this capture would be for nothing. She thought for a moment, then said to the others, "We should find a root cave or some place like that in our terra to shove it in for now. We can fetch it when we're done," she suggested.

Shadow nodded. "Okay then." She bit one of the moose's legs and waited for the others.
Axle sighed. "I have a feeling we're going to be doing this for awhile." He grabbed firmly onto the moose's neck.

Saskia shrugged. "Three should be enough to feed the entire pack for at least five days. The famine has starved us, though, so who knows how ravenous some wolves will be? It'll probably take a while, but it'll be worth having some evergy and vigor back," Saskia woofed. She ducked under a front shoulder of the moose, lifting it with a bit of struggle. Her slim form hadn't carried something this heavy in a while.

Shadow twitched her ears and started to drag the moose. These things didn't just look huge, they were really heavy. She wondered how the three of them would be able to pull the moose. She had a feeling they'de probably managa.

Saskia dragged her part of the moose forward, panting heavily with the effort, but pressing on regardless. The root cave she'd seen wasn't too far, so it wouldn't be much longer that she'd have to haul this massive thing. She spotted the large, uprooted tree not too far away. She glanced back at Axle and Shadow, nodding slightly to let them know it wasn't too far.

Axle and Shadow nodded their reply. Axle used most of his strength to drag the moose the rest of the way. Shadow just pulled.

With the moose in the hole and sufficiently hidden from the views of predators,Saskia sat for a small rest, panting softly. The moose had taken more of her energy than she thought it would. She shook herself, glancing back at the remainder of the moose herd. Luckily, they'd been able to cut this one from the others, meaning that hunting this moose hadn't affected the position of the others. Stupid, stupid creatures! They don't even help each other, for Lupus' sake! She wrinkled her nose at her own thoughts, concluding that few, if any, animals had the intelligence of the wolves. It's a good thing we're wolves. Otherwise, we'd be a bunch of dumbo bricks! She rose, pausing to lap water from a small puddle, then turned to Axle and Shadow, ready when they were.
