"I saw it with my own eyes Rapier. Loni missed. Akaira didn't."
The words brought pain to her as she spoke.
This would be hard for Rapier to unerstand.

Rapier gritted his fangs, eyes closing tightly shut. His sister... his one true friend. He loved her, he cared for her. She had loved him, and cared for him. It had been Akaira that had shielded him from the wrath of Loni at his birth.
Now he knew that it was his turn to shield her.
"No... NO!" Rapier snarled, jumping to his paws and bristling his fur. Baring his teeth, he hissed, "You're wrong! You're all wrong! She doesn't deserve to be banished!!"
He dashed out of the den, running out the entrance to the camp and into the woods, blinded by tears.

Svel turned and stared after him.
Aliya stood over Destiny's body. The fae moved away to allow the pack to mourn the fallen alphess.
Sothis shivered in the shadows. He wished Carolina were with him for some reason.

Skysong slowly approached her brother. "They hate him" she murmured softly, sitting down near him and staring at her paws. Skysong knew Sothis would know who she was talking about. Sirius had been saddened by Destiny dying but Skysong wasn't sure what to think about his choice in sending the pup away.

Sothis turned to his sister. "It's me they should hate." Sothis deep knowing blue pools held a tinge of sadness. " I wasn't fast enough..." He murmured outloud. Instantly regretting it. Skysong had probabyl heard.

Skysong heard but knew better then to question. This was Sothis after all. His ways and words were ones she would never understand so she didn't try. Skysong laid with her head on her paws, silver eyes sad. "Well...Destiny was old. She would have died eventually. Not even the Twilight wolves can turn back time." Skysong sighed softly and stared across the clearing, wishing time could be turned back. None of this would be happening if Loni hadn't killed Destiny. If Destiny was alive things would have stayed the same....

Sothis sighed. "Yes, she was old. But not weak and not defeated. Destiny could have led her pack for many moons more." Thoughts drifted to Loni. "What happened to Loni and Akaira?" He asked. Though he already knew the answers.

Skysong looked away. "They're the reason everybody hates Sirius now" Skysong murmured. Rising to her paws, the young ebony neophyte walked toward the camp entrance. Maybe she could hunt and get her mind off of things...maybe....She doubted it would work but it was worth a shot.

Zuni sat near the edge of camp. His eyes were looking down at his paws. The last alphess of the old lands has passed. He took a deep breath. A familiar scent drifted on the breeze. You're late.

Faun raced out of the Nursery, Thunder behind her. "You're home early. What ha-" She pushed her way through the wolves, her mouth agape. "What happened?" she demanded. "Where's Akaira? Who killed her?"

Zuni looked over at Faun. "Well..." He wasn't sure how he should explain it. "Destiny and another wolf got into a fight. Let's just say when Akaira tried to go after the other wolf, but she missed and accidentally hit Destiny instead. Akaira was banished even though she didn't kill Destiny on purpose."

Faun choked. "W-what? Akaira? No..."
Her eyes fluttered. "NO..." and she passed out.
Thundered hurriedly began to lick her face in attempt to wake her.

Kunai was just walking slow, he was the last one who left from the Moonless meeting, he knew that everyone would be here. He lost Star, his guardian, he now lost someone that would have his next guardian but it is wasn't offical so he couldn't say that now. The orphan couldn't believed that his mother, his real mother was having more. More chance for her to do kill Kunai again. She would just just teach them to hunt, kill, and make sure that they do what ever the hell that Jen would tell them to do. It was sad. He saw Skysong, she was the only one that he could trust now. It wasn't a good feeling because it was even better he gone happy with everyone and ment more friends his age but nope, he was too depressed about Star to do that. [/center] |
