Mourning (All Destinian Wolves)

Sirius padded slowly into the camp, with the help of his mate and Beta, Aliya, carrying the dead body of their beloved former alphess Destiny. Sirius had walked in silent mourning for his friend and silent horror of what her death meant. He was going to have to lead the pack but he knew Destiny and the wolves of Twilight would help him. That gave him the strength for what he had knew he had to do.

Once in the camp, Sirius laid down Destiny's body in the center and let out a long, low-toned howl. "Destinian wolves, gather for a pack meeting" Sirius called. The wolves that had not gone to the Moonless Meeting needed to know the news of what would happen now that Destiny had fallen and what had caused her death. He would however, keep to Destiny's dying word and leave the name of her killer out. No Destinian would kill Loni, in honor of his mother's last wish. As to the pup he had banished, she wouldn't be mentioned. Sirius remained standing in the camp, waiting for the others to gather.

[Destiny]

Aliya padded in silently with her mate. Destiny's blood had splattered over her own pelt. Not that she cared. The alphess was dead. Destiny was dead. Her kin , her friend, her alphess, was dead. Silently Aliya lay the body down. Perking her auds as Sirius called for the pack to gather. Aliya's pools held great sorrow. But the fae had faith.

Svel entered the camp behind Sirius and Aliya. Her silver crown dipped sorowfully at the death of her adoptive mother, mentor, alphess and friend. Svel placed herself obediantly near Sirius, Aliya and Destiny.

Destiny's form was settled on the ground. Her lifeless pools looking at something unseen. A light breeze ruffled her crimson stained snowy pelt. As if her spirit was there. Perhaps it was.

Rapier emerged from the nursery, eyes bright-- he had known that Akaira had tagged along the meeting, and was dying to know what she had heard...
The pup stopped short, however, when the corpse of his mother came into view.
Heart in his throat, he spoke.
"M-mother?"
He raced forward, pushing past the wolves until he was hovering above Destiny's form. "M-M-MOTHER!?" he cried, voice cracking with grief.

[Ärï]

Bluefrost padded from the healer den where she had been recovering from her bear attack, three scars now imprinted upon her side. Seeing the dead alphess her eyes darkened with sadness and her tail hung low. Slowly the blue-grey femmora padded forward and touched Destiny's fur lightly before sitting back on her hunches a respectful distance away to hear what had happened.

Skysong padded from the neophyte den and stopped dead in her tracks. Destiny was dead. That was the only thing that regestered in her mind. She really shouldn't have been surprised. She knew that the fae had been aging but dying at a Moonless Meeting and murdered...that was a shock. Padding forward, Skysong approached the pup and touched his shoulder lightly with her muzzle. "Shh Rapier, Destiny's not gone forever...." she murmured softly, licking the pup's ears. She glanced at Sirius who looked sad. The moon-crested pup focused on Rapier again.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

But Rapier couldn't hear anything... he was distraught. Nothing was happening... and yet everything was happening all at once.
"...mother, wake up!" he pleaded, licking her neck fur rapidly. "Wake up! Please... it's me, Rapier! PLEASE!" He was shaking violently, licking Destiny's fur in a futile attempt to "wake" her from her perpetual sleep....

Sedaka watched, eyes glistening with tears, as the pup sobbed.

[Ärï]

Sirius padded over to Sedaka. "What do we do now?" he asked honestly. He had no idea what to do now. All he knew was eventually he have to go get his 12 leader lives. Sirius was reluctant to leave the pack too soon after such a rough event. Secondly, he had no idea what he was doing or what he was going to do. He didn't know how to recieve his new lives.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Sedaka slowly raised his gaze to meet Sirius. "What the packs need now-- more than anything-- is a strong leader to get them through this... You are the father of this pack. These are your children. You will give them support, just as Destiny did."
He paused, gaze trailing to watch Rapier once more.
"Soon I will lead you to the Eternal Tree so that you may recieve your twelve lives... when we return, you must choose a Proxy, and a vigil will be held for Destiny, may she rest in peace."
The old Healer put a paw on Sirius' shoulder. "You've been given a great burden, Sirius. I know that. But the sooner things are running like normal again, the better off your children will be."
Lifting his paw, Sedaka murmured, "I better give Rapier some poppy seeds..." and headed for the Healer den.

[Destiny]

Destiny watched from above now. It was time for her to leave. But what a mess she had left. Sirius had banished her daughter. Loni was off, waiting to kill something, anything. Rapier was sobbing over her lifeless form. Grug had not looked at her since she had told him he was Loni's father. No words had been shared with Lakota for moons. Alaskansong had not been seen for a while but the fae probabaly hated Destiny to Hellfire. Sky probably hated her too. For Destiny had given to wolves loved by others pups in one litter.

Sothis emerged from the resting dens. His paws made his way towards Destiny's body. Nose touched his fur. "I'm sorry Destiny. I was not fast enough." He murmured the words quietly before turning and padding away from the wolves. He sat alone in the shadows.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Sedaka returned, seeds in his maw. Dropping them beside Rapier, he whispered, "Take this, young one."

"NO!" Rapier choked out, dark lines of tears below his eyes. "...I won't leave my mother..."

The Healer sighed, and picked Rapier up, struggling to bring him to the Healer's den through all the pup's struggling.

Inside the den, Rapier finally agreed to swallow the seeds... a bit grugdingly, however.
"Where... where is my sister?" he asked faintly, eyes still teary. He looked up at Sedaka, completely serious. "Where is Akaira?"

Sedaka didn't know how to answer.

[Destiny]

Svel's beautiful silver form now came into view. The femme had followed Sedaka and the struggling Rapier to the Healer's den. She heard Rapier's question loud and clear. Sedaka was not answering. She would.

The silver femmora crossed the Healer's den. Standing directly in fronr of Rapier. Her non-blood related kin. Her pools were icy and enchanting. The answer came. Plain as day. He must know. "Akaira is gone Rapier. I don't know where. But she's gone. Not dead. Very much alive." Svel halted. Making her final decision. The femme opened her mouth to speak, but, actually paused.

[Ärï]

Sirius sighed softly and settled next to Destiny's fallen form to wait for Sedaka to return. As the healer went to the den however, he rose to his paws and padded over to Aliya. "Take care of them" he murmured softly, licking her muzzle lovingly. The brute turned and padded out of the camp, heading for the Eternal Tree. He would have to figure this out one way or another. Right now the pack needed Sedaka to remain. Aliya could take care of things until he returned.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Rapier was stone silent for a moment that seemed to last forever... even though only seconds past before he spoke again.
"Why has she gone? Where is she?"

[Destiny]

Svel looked down at the pup. "Rapier. She killed Destiny. Sirius banished her. Against Destiny's wishes. None the less. Your sister isn't allowed within the boundries of this packas terra. Sirius said he would rip her inisdes out himself if she dared set foot."

Rapier stared at Svel, utterly speachless. Utterly frozen.
"....there must be some mistake...."
