I can ride my bike with no handlebars. No handlebars... No handlebars...
Light sighed heavily, gazing at the deep blue sky through the hole in his den roof. He sneezed a bit, allowing himself to giggle freely. His ribs stuck out bodly against his normally glowing coat. He hadn't eaten in days. He rolled on his side, closing his eyes and resting for the night. He moaned softly before falling into a deep sleep. A flash of color appeared before his eyes. His breath became shallow, and Light lost yet another life.
Because I can guide a missle by satelite. I can hit a target through a telescope. I can end the planet in a Holocaust. In a Holocaust... In a Holocaust... In a Holocaust...

Lyra slipped around the edges of the camp. The shadows hiding her figure from sight, coat of ebony and greyish shade helped with the camoflauge. Greenish colored optics should have been brighter, and were brighter then most of the older wolves. The little pup had managed to eat earlier in the day. Figure slipped into the den of the alpha. "Mister Light sir?"

Light gave a slight twitch of his nose. He kept his eyes shut, but recognized the scent of the pup. "Yes, Child?" He murmered weakly.

The little creature slunk into the den of her alpha. Optics danced over his figure, he looked so poor at the moment. So un-fit for anything other then exactly what he was doing at the moment. The fae moved towards Light, stopping at first a respectable distance away, then moving a little closer. "What's going to happen to us?"

The big, white alpha rose into a sitting position. He looked like he could be a senior, dispite his somewhat young age. He took in the little fae, looked her up and down, contemplating. He didn't want to lie to her. "I don't know, Lyra. We can only hope that Twilight is watching over us."

The fae had to tilt her crown backwards now, otherwise it was impossible to actually look at the alpha. Perhaps staring him straight in the eye was disrepectful, if so, she didn't really care all that much. "Why don't we just take some of the Destinians prey? Or the Siverians?" Her head cocked in curiosity. "I heard that they have lots and lots, more then enough for themselves."

Light smiled at the little fae's bold act. "We can't do that. You see, that will just start a big war we don't want. We'll remain peaceful."
He glanced toward his paws. "For now."
He didn't mention that he was considering Lyra's suggestion.

Sooty grey hued auds swiveled so that the words could all be registered. A slight nod of understanding was given, of course she understood his meaning. "War isn't always bad, I heard Iver say that sometimes to find peace you need to have a war first. Well, I think that's what he said, I couldn't really hear, he was chewing on some twigs and sort of talking to himself."

Light narrowed his eyes. "We can't afford war now, Lyra. Too many would be lost." He twitched a whisker, amused by Lyra's persistance. "Do you wish for war, child?"

The fae made a shrugging like motion with her shoulders. "If war is the only way to make the other packs realize that without food we're all going to die. We need food. We have none. The Siverians and Destinians do, and they aren't sharing when we clearly need it." The fae looked up at Light again, she'd been staring at his paws for a while. "What I want, Light, is not to have to watch my family die because they're starved. Or my friends, or my pack."

Light nodded slightly. "You are wise, child." He nosed the top of her head. "Sometimes it's little ones like you who make the biggest difference." The determination in her little eyes gave him a sliver of hope.

Lyra couldn't help it, her tail began to wag despite the fact that she was trying to be serious at the praise from Light. The alpha had just called her wise! True, determination did glimmer in the depths of her eyes, as did hope, and possibly worry for the well being of her pack. "Thank you, Light." She managed.

"Now, go child." Light said, giving her a small smile and a wink. "You have a pack to look after." He settled himself back into his nested, taking a weezing breath, but feeling better. Seven left.

The slightest nod of her crown was given in respect. "Yes, Light." With one more admirable glance towards her alpha the pup dashed out of the den. Paws carrying her across the camp as her tassel wagged behind her.
