A Matter of Fire and Ice {Rhain/Lupus}

Riptide chuckled softly, padding up to Destry. "Nice try, man. You are definately a ShimmeringMist wolf."

"Of course," Fiero woofed, rolling his eyes. "And we are NightMist because we playfight by moonlight."

The Healer glanced up, grinning. "Actually, I do do that."

"Well, then, that explains it," Fiero muttered.

Sky yipped with pleasure as a stormy grey male, Wind, appeared. He even cracked a small grin. "How are things, Lupus?"

Destry shrugged. "I try." He felt very bad for Cinnabar. An idea popped into his head...

"Valenica...."

"Destry, you're getting to be ridiculous! Now where is May when i need her?" Valencia snorted.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Lupus nodded at Wind. "Wind... I haven't seen you in a while." Not since I killed you the voice inside his head added.

Riptide laughed. "And what would you be planning to do with Valenica?"

"Nobody's doin' nothing with me!" Valencia snapped.

"Apparenly she likes pepper, not cinnamon." Rhain giggled

"He's a good wolf!"

"Who? Pepper?" Rhain laughed, amused by her own accuracy.

"Yes...." Valencia grumbed.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

"And what might this Pepper look like?" Riptide chuckled.

Fiero, too, laughed out his amusement.

Lupus shook his head. "I can only imagine." He sat down beside Rhain, and Mystic followed to sit on his other side.

"My, Lupus... You've changed since I last saw you!" Mystic murmured, eyeing her former Alpha.

"So have you, Mystic... especially since the last time I saw you your stomach was swollen and ready to burst."

Mystic shoved Lupus, a playful annoyance on her face. In return, Lupus laughed harder than he had in moons.

Siveria returned, sitting far from Destry or Cinnabar. "Where's Sleet?" She asked, anxious to see her old friend.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

"Silentnight?" A familiar, excited voice echoed through the clearing. A snowy white fae padded up, emerged from the woods. Her eyes brightening, Sleet howled, "Silentnight!"

Mystic looked over at Rhain. "I don't believe we've met before?" she woofed.

Lupus stepped back so Mystic could meet Rhain properly. "Mystic, this is Rhain, the love of my life.... Rhain, this is Mystic... my devillish little sister..."

Mystic rolled her eyes. "You're still going on about that, aren't you? I told you one time that you're acting like an annoying older brother..." She shook her head, and nodded to Rhain. "How are you?"

"Never been better, actually!" Rhain smiled.

"Sleet!" Silentnight bounded forward, smiling widely. She eyed Riptide, then leaned in close. "You go right, I go left."

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Sleet's eyes gleamed happily. "The turkey is as good as dead," she woofed, laughter in her voice.

Mystic's eyes went from Lupus to Rhain. "Really, Lupus? Her? I thought you'd fall in love with Riptide, seeing as how you two were always together, laughing--"

"See? Devilish little sister!" Lupus interrupted, narrowing his eyes playfully.

Mystic laughed, and then turned to Rhain. "Really, you fell in love with him? I fell so sorry for you!'

"That does it!" Lupus tackled Mystic and the two wolves batted at each other in a crazed frenzy... though the entire time they were laughing their hearts out.

Silentnight held in her laughter for after the attack. She slunk away to the left, knowing Sleet would do the same to the right. Once close enough to Riptide, she flicked her tail to Sleet and sprang.

Feather appeared next. She smiled widely. "I don't think she knows I'm her grandaughter yet!" She muttered to Valencia, referring to Silentnight.

Yawning, Rhain wrinkled her nose and gave the rockface a little lick. Grass was growing in seconds. She smiled with satisfaction and let herself fall backwards into a cushy bed. She gazed upward, where the lives of the packs in played out before them.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

"What the--" Riptide was crushed under Sleet and Silentnight, and the old Healer began laughing. "...If you don't get off me, I'm going to bite your heads off!"

Lupus paused, pulling away from Mystic for a moment. "Come on, Rip! Let the kids have some fun!"

Riptide narrowed his eyes, still smiling. "I'm going to get you for that, mate."

Mystic crashed into Lupus again, and the black wolf laughed. Never had he looked so happy.

Fiero padded up to his mate and Alpha, grinning. "The whole gang is back, then? Well, besides Desoto and Teak..."

Rhain was not smiling. No, in fact, she looked utterly horrified. "Why did we come here, again?"

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Lupus got up, shoving Mystic gently off him. "Ahh, right... Sorry, side-tracked." He shook his fur, feeling much better. "NightMist, retire!" he woofed.

As soon as he finished his words, Fiero and Mystic bowed their heads to Lupus and began padding into the undergrowth. Riptide pushed the two wolves off of him and went to stand beside Lupus.

The black wolf sat in front of the pool and sent Riptide a questioning glance.

"You might've been my leader, but you're not sending me away that easy."

Lupus eyes glimmered. "For now, I suppose." He turned his attention back on the pool.

Rhain sighed heavily. alencia plopped down next to her.

"Rhain, you don't have to stay. In fact, I don't think any of us will."

"No. We'll all be here watching it all, and you know it." Rhain grunted in return.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Lupus spent a moment in silence, staring down at the pool, before speaking again in hushed tones. "Riptide?"

"Yeah, mate?"

"I'm... I'm so sorry... about what I said to you. I didn't mean it... and you were right."

Riptide sighed softly. "It's alright, Lupus... it's ancient history now."

Golden eyes fixed on the Healer for a moment longer, Lupus finally tore his gaze away and back into the water. "Not to me, it isn't," he murmured softly.
