The goddess had been growing increasingly jolly over the past few days. Winter was finally drawing to a close...and what a long Winter it had been!
It was strange to think that when Thorn had released the last of her Autumn leaves, it had been Verlust who'd taken over. Of course Siveria was the holder of Winter now....perhaps that's what made it drag on so long...
But something was deeply worrying her.
Feather was gone -- there was no mistaking it. She'd gone off in search of her faded children, in whatever tense, realm, or galaxy they may reside in. But first, Feather had promised to pass on her powers to Kar, her half-brother. Feather had been gone since the night after her wedding, and Rhain was certain she hadn't contacted Kar yet. Well...there was still some time before Spring took over. If Feather hadn't taken care of the situation by then...then fate alone would choose the next Summer ruler.

Thorn trotted up, a catipillar's head bobbing up and down on her shoulder in time with her pawsteps. The black wolf wore a smile on her pretty face, and her fiery eyes were bright. "Hola Rhain! How is that, 'Restle the Forest Away From Sivvy' thing goin'?" Bob made a squeeky noise.
(I'm sooo gonna make a death scene for Bob some day XD)

Rhain rolled her eyes, laughing. Her voice sent a cluster of butterflies into the air, coloring the sky with their bright wings. "Ah, you know Siv and I are more like sisters. She's not too terribly bitter over it. Though part of me still wishes it was Verlust. Why? Well...I wrestled the forest away from Verlust when I was a mere pup! With Siv, I have to play nice!" She giggled, remembering the endless winter of the first packs. Her birth had marked the beginning of the first spring. Autumn and Summer had come later, in similar ways...only Feather hadn't realized her powers until the day before her death, and Thorn had been awarded hers AFTER her death. Rhain supposed this also had much to do with the customs of the present packs vs. the customs of the old packs.

Thorn smiled. "I get to sit back for another half a year! It satisfies me greatly." She glanced at Bob. "But Bob is a bit ticked off that he can't be a butterfly. TOO BAD BOB! I love you too much." Bob crawled up on her snout and touched her nose. She sneezed.

Rhain smiled again, glowing with a yellow light. She yawned and fell back against a patch of snow, grinning widely as it evaporated under her touch. "Now this is more like it....Siv needs a break. She's tired out from having her leg suddenly pop back into place..." Siv had had her leg removed in battle with Verlust;; it had taken a very long time for it to grow back...and it was a rather painful process, too.
"Say...do you ever wonder what it might be like to be a human?"

Thorn nodded hesitantly. "I guess. But, I would hate for my brain to shrink so much. They're so STUPID!" Bob squeeked and nodded.

Rhain nodded, shrugging slightly. "And they ARE kinda ugly too..." she added, wrinkling her nose with distaste. True;; those idiots thought they knew everything! How selfish!

Thorn shuddered. "AND HAIRLESS! Did you know, a pair of them were stalking the wolves!? THE THINGS ARE PHSYCOTIC!!!"

Rhain shrugged again. "They're useless, really. They don't even know how to hunt without those long, boomsticks!" She snorted, referring to their 'guns'. "And I bet they're scared of the dark, too!" She scoffed.

Thorn giggled. "And who wants to wear a second layer of fur, anyway? I imagine that they get very warm when Summer comes." Bob nodded in agreement.

"Ah, well, who needs computer-thingys anyway, right?" Rhain laughed, accidentally snorting....which made her laugh harder. XD
She continued to laugh-snort. =p

Thorn laughed some more, and so did Bob. Thorn was almost to the point of crying. So, she laughed harder, until tears rolled down her cheeks. "I BET THEIR BRAINS ARE FRIED!! Wait... THEY HAVE NO BRAINS!" *laugh-snort*

"Oh, oh, I got a good one!" Rhain yipped with glee. "They're so fat and stupid, they have to walk on two legs since their other two are so pudgy and useless!"

"Ah, those stupid little beings! I wonder why anybody bothered putting them there!" She sighed. A lovely, violet bunch of daisies sprouted around Thorn and Rhain. Rhain smiled again, relishing in the oncoming season. "Gah. Sivvy, why can't you let me get rid of that ugly white patch!" She complained, eyeing a large mound of snow a few feet away. "Sure, it looks nice for a little while...but it's COLD!"
