The morning light was just filtering in, the trees thinly outlined with pale pinks and oranges. The ground was soft and moist beneath the femme's white paws. She turned her head slightly, ears twitching as the lazy run of the Twilight River became known. The waters passed by slowly, not blocked, but just waking and not yet up to their full speed. The ripples of blue and silver flickered in the dim light. Freya strode slower than the river, eyes seemingly fascinated by its depths. The white wolf was accompanied by a male, Avarius, who had asked her to walk. He was a nice wolf, she supposed, but she really didn't know him all that well. Now would be the perfect time, but there were so many thoughts crowding her mind, that it would take a few moments for the barrage to clear. And so, her light crystal gaze rested on the river. After a few moments, she was able to push all of her stresses aside. She turned back to Avarius, her smile light and warm. She wasn't exactly sure what to say, though. After a bit more thought, she spoke, her voice soft and delicate, "So what have you been up to lately?" Not very original, but it's an honest enough question. Not to prying or poking or anything like that.

Avarius's eyes were averted as he looked into the dense shrub, trying not to totally freak out of become the most akward wolf in the forest. He looked over and mumbled, "Hm?" he looked around as he walked.
'Why am I such a dork?' he thought.
'YOUR NOT A DORK!' shouted another voice.
'Yes I am...' though Avarius.
'NO YOU AREN'T!' screamed the other voice.
'Yes I am- wait, who are you- what are you doing here?' thought Avarius. He was arguing with an imaginary voice.
'I thought it would be fun..' the voice vanished.
"Oh, everything is fine with me, you?" he barked, suddenly refusing to argue with the voices in his head.

Freya watched his expressions with a comical gleam in her eyes. Well, maybe he's just as nervous. Hopefully. I mean, it's bad for us both, but it's good to know at least the feeling could possibly be mutual. "Oh, that's good to hear," she woofed. "I'm all right, I guess. Things have been so complicated lately with the way the alliances were and now all of a sudden the tables are just....turned. I was one of the diplomats between the packs....one of the wolves Sabela took with her to make the deals with the Destinians. I'm not extremely friendly with any of them, but they're a decent pack....and it got me thinking. I mean the Yozorans and Sheerans still seem like selfish freak shows, but maybe they aren't all like that you know? Everything is just so....confusing...." Crap. I just totally spilled my guts to this random guy who I barely know and I might like....who might like me. Lovely, just lovely! Yep, that about sums it up.... She felt a hot flush of embarresment, and looked away from Avarius, eyes averting and directing themselves to the dimly lit path ahead of them.

The brown brujo smiled sheepishly, it was now a suddenly very akward walk. He looked at her again and woofed, "You know, I think the same way. I always thought that Mist and Light had something odd going on, and I knew that when they asked for land that they were just being greedy packs that couldn't fend for themselves." He looked up from his paws and frowned slightly, "Sorry for my ranting about my issues with other packs." He looked down at his paws again. He liked her, yes, but he was pretty sure now she was about ready to drown herself in the river rather than continue talking to him.

Freya merely shrugged. "You're not the only one ranting, so don't feel bad," she woofed. She studied the way ahead thoughtfull, not really looking at the wild grasses, but rather thinking of the world around them in general. She sighed softly. "I mean...four packs were placed here. Maybe the famine really was as bad as they made it sound, and maybe it was our duty to help them. But they had other motives, plain as day. Does that cancel out our job to aid them when they were nearing starvation?" She pondered. "Well, anyways, I'm glad I'm not a leader, proxy, beta, or even a healer! I don't want to have to make those decisions for anyone else when I can hardly make them myself!" She admitted. She frowned suddenly. "And now I'm ranting!" Hopefully he won't mind...
