It was really kind of depressing out here. One could see the entire forest from atop this mighty slope, the swift-flowing rivers, the cliffs carved into the sides of the valley, the peaks of the mountains as they rose as a border, the plentiful forests and the rolling hills, and of course the flat running plains. Stigg sighed softly to himself, gazing out at the majestic beauty of it all. As the sun made it's decent, he was alone. So many wolves moving about their business in the many crooks and corners of this place, and yet he was utterly, completely alone. Depressing. He became deeply lost in thought, not noting his surroundings as carefully as he usually did. They still shun me, perhaps because I've befriended no one. Maybe if I made more of an effort to fit in, I would become close to the pack, maybe even closer to even my son. If only it were that simple!

(Tell me if anything is wrong with my post. o.o)
Nectar gasped as she almost slid back down the slope, but managed to catch on to a outcrop of rock on the side of the cliff. Yikes! Maybe this was a bad idea for a fun outing...
She wasn't as nervous as usual. True, the packs had declared war... but no battles had happened yet as far as she knew. Life almost seemed normal.
Panting, she clambered to the top of the hill. Then stopped. A brownish-white wolf stood in front of her, looking out at the surroundings. Nectar instinctively started to back down the hill, but then decided against it.
She trotted slowly toward the wolf.
"Hello?"

(Uh...no, I don't think there's anything wrong with it 0_o Haha did you look up Stigg just to know what his appearence was like? XD )
Stigg turned suddenly, jumping to his paws, startled. He blinked slowly, calming his pulse. It's only a neophyte! Stop acting like a moose-headed idiot! He laughed nervously. "Eh...Hello. You're that new neophyte...Nectar, correct?" He asked, recalling that a new wolf had just joined the pack. He was pretty sure this was Freya's neophyte, but was wasn't completely certain.

(Actually, I did. XD And I also looked at the description of Suicide Hill about half a dozen times... ) Startled by the other wolf's sudden move, Nectar jumped back a step. Feeling a little foolish, she moved back to her original position. Anyway, he seems as nervous as I am... "...Yes... I'm Nectar. Who are you?" She tilted her head to the side, eyeing him curiously.

Stigg looked back at her as he moved to sit down in his place once more. "My name is Stigg....I am a warrior, I suppose," he sighed, looking back out as night began to kiss the lands. "How's your training going?" He asked, wondering if she'd met his son, Weed. Weed usually hung around with the other older neophyte, Kippy, though. So maybe not. But he felt a new distance between himself and Weed. He had felt this ever since Weed had begun to be more independent. He had friends in the pack, was well-liked, even mentored by Sabela herself. But Stigg was a loner, still. Weed belonged in the Siverians now, but Stigg was not at all sure that he should stay. Would Weed be all right, if he left?

Nectar furrowed her brow at his remarks. "...You suppose?" Almost as if he's not sure...
She shook it off, though, and responded, "It's going okay, I guess, seeing I haven't actually started to be trained yet." A little lopsided grin pulled at the corner of her mouth, but was quickly subdued. "How's your-" She stopped abruptly, at a loss of words. I can't say training, because he's a warrior. What do I say? "...er... life going?"
Awkward moment...

Stigg looked at her oddly, and her shrugged. "It's dull. I don't exactly have friends or family here, except for my son, and he's growing up fast. Really, I have only one decision to make, and that's if I stay and try and make a life here or leave now. I'm still contemplating the pros and cons of each option," he woofed honestly. No use trying to hide it anymore.

Nectar slowly sat down where she had been standing, looking over the forest. "Personally, the way I see your situation... As for the friends part, why leave? Doesn't it seem more logical that it's easier to find friends in the pack than..." She gestured in the general direction of the loner lands. "...well, out there?"
She looked at him out of the corner of her eye. "Of course, I'm just a neophyte, and it's just my opinion..."

Stigg shrugged. "It's more of a question of becoming a social wolf who is less solitary, or continuing in my solitary ways elsewhere, where I don't make a situation awkward and melancholy," he explained.

"I agree with what you're saying in some ways," Nectar said thoughtfully. "But even in a pack, you can be solitary... See what we're doing now as an example." She grinned a small grin.
Then, a bit softer, and almost to herself, she said, "And perhaps, being awkward and melancholy isn't so bad after all..."

"Yes, but what I'm doing now, also, is being miserable. You can, as you said, be in a pack and be solitary, but there is not gratitude in that. Then you might as well not be in the pack at all," he shrugged, deep in thought now. "You're a very clever young wolf," he added. Maybe I should've tired talking about this all to someone sooner. I don't know...maybe I should speak with the alpha? And what could she do, really? Well, the insults for being the child of their runaway warrior could definitly stop. They've lessened considerably, though...

Nectar blushed at the compliment, but quickly regained her senses. "Thanks."
Pausing for a moment, she thought about what Stigg had just said. Then she said, "True, but if being solitary makes you miserable... well, then there's really only one thing to do, right?" She shrugged. "Just become more social, like you said. If you leave, you'll still be solitary, and therefore miserable... right?"
Thinking back to her beginnings in the loner lands, Nectar continued, "...Actually, probably more miserable, since there's less chances to be social..." She was actually going to say more, but at that moment, an odd thought popped into her head.
When did I start trying to persuade older wolves to do or not do things?
So she finished with, "Well, either way, it's always your choice what to do with life. I think."

He listened to all of this intently, ears perked towards her. He turned to her, tilting his head in question. "You think?" He laughed a bit, a soft, gentle laugh. "Well thank you for your advice, young one. I'll be sure to take it into consideration." He woofed.
(Sorry. My thinker is dying =p )

(So is mine, after a day of Japanese and Hero's Quest writing...)
Nectar was silent for a while, staring at the view. "You're welcome... I think." She grinned at him, then continued watching the sun as it fell gradually, bit by bit, lower in the sky.
(...uh, has this thread accomplished its mission, then? XD Don't know what to post now.)

( XD I think so. I had been neglecting him and I was bored so I tried to plop him out there. Really, I think I might just throw him off a cliff. He's no fun anymore XP Haha. I apologize for my...morbidness? )
