The brown warrior could probably relate the the excitement and anxiety of his new neophyte more than she thought. He hadn't really been a warrior long, and this would be his first neophyte. Well, everyone's gotta start somewhere, right? And she seems....eager in her own way. Not as energetic, but still as interested as some of the young wolves are. The White Weed Meadows, or herb meadows, weren't the usual hunting ground, he supposed. However, they were great for practicing techniques. The tall grasses also made it easier to sneak up on prey. And besides, Reason was with her neophyte on the Foxwood Hill, and Winter had taken Camryn towards the Sparkling Stream, though he'd spotted them running. He looked around to see if Tiah had kept up with his brisk pace.

The fae might be small, but she was still pretty strong for her young age. She didn't find it to difficult to keep up with the brisk pace her new mentor had set, and she bounded after him as they entered the White Weed Meadows. It seemed a strange place to hunt, and the scent of herbs and such was nearly overwhelming. I wonder what he'll teach me first. Her eyes took in what they could see before landing on her new mentor. There was a little wagging of her tail, but she stilled it.

"We're going to start with basic hunting techniques," Rye informed her. "There are many ways to hunt, a most mentors teach their neophytes stalking first. However, after some experiments, it's been revealed that some methods work better. Now think, Tiah. If you're hunting a rabbit, should you sneak up on it, then pounce like a feline, or should you charge forward and snap it with your fangs? Who is faster, you or the rabbit? Think hard now." Rye spoke, eyes studying her carefully.

Tiah paused before answering, trying to visualize it. "Based on my build... and my speed..." She was murmuring to herself. "If I am able to camouflage myself into the surroundings, I would sneak up on my prey, hopefully taking it by surprise, and catch it with my claws , finishing it with my fangs before if had the chance to get away." The fae glanced around, surveying the land. "But, if I was in more open land, with nowhere to hide my bright pelt, I'd need to rely on my speed. Therefore I'd dash forwards and snap it with my fangs, leaping forwards and taking it down with my claws if it managed to get a little ahead of me." Gaze was returned to her mentor, and she wondered whether or not her answers would be okay.

Rye snickered good naturedly. "Now, you're thinking a little too hard! Yes, that would work just fine. Rabbits are speedy little buggers, too, but we, wolves, keep up with herds of reindeer and moose! Tease them for fun! So little mister rabbit should be easy game with speed alone. They don't really squeak or anything, but you're right. In a more secluded area, to ensure few other creatures are startled, you should use a stealthier method then running alone. I will teach you stalking tecniques later, when we go into the woods. For now, since we have this big open field to ourselves, we'll indulge in something I like to call, the sneak-and-chase." His eyes lit up at this, a small laugh escaping him. "Good work, Tiah. You're a quick one for a neophyte so new," he woofed, referring to her intricate answer.

The fae shuffled her feet in embarrassment. Of the two sisters, she was the thinker and Selia was the brave, courageous one. "Sneak-and-chase..?" Sounds like something Selia would do...which means... Her tail wagged a little and she smiled. "Sounds like fun."

Rye nodded in agreement. "Oh, it is!" He promised. "Now, taste the air with your senses. What heartbeats, pulses, can your hear? What scents and aromas are floating your way? What creatures does your sight capture, through the workings of your other senses? What things can you feel, moving across the earth? And what can you taste, through tasing the scents you've identified?" He murmured, attempting to provoke thoughtfullness in her assesment of the area. He fell silent, also surveying the premesis.
