The night was warm, even humid and sticky. It had rained just long enough earlier to throw off the dryness, twisting it into a thick-aired stmosphere. Freya had never really been fond of summer to begin with, but the heat had nearly blazed her senseless! I don't even want to think about what this all would be like if I had a black pelt instead of a white one! She shivered, shaking her head. She'd volunteered to take the dawn and evening patrols a lot lately, not wanting to be out under the burning glare of sunlight. Even in the thick canopy of trees in the Siverian territory, the heat was still lethal and not to be trifled with.
Annelise has suggested that she take the night off of patrols, decreeing that Freya was restless, twitchy, and needed to burn off some excess energy. She'd even offered to go on a run with her, as the two hadn't been able to spend some time off together in eons, it seemed. However, Annelise went back on her promise, saying she had to meet someone. Freya had private suspicions and worries about this behavior -- a regular occurrence -- but never shared them with Anna. Freya knew that whatever Annelise was up to, she would get around to telling Freya about it when she needed to. Until then, it was her business and her business only.
Freya broke into a fast sprint, covering the ground fast. However, once she got to the hill -- more of a mountain it would seem -- her pace slowed vastly, involuntarily. There was no doubting the giantess of this lump of earth, and certainly no fighting its commanding prescence, either. She allowed herself to walk after she'd reached the half-way point. She could suck away the last resevoirs of energy on her jaunt back. For now, it would do to simply stare up at the impossibly blue sky, stars glinting like silver, shimmering mirrors.
The hill was mostly swathed in forest, but there were breaks here and there. Freya padded into the open, right out onto one of the hillsides. There was a large rock formation that spurted from the ground, overlooking the vast, rich territories below. Cautiously, Freya maneuvered her way out towards the ledge and layed down, resting her head against her front legs. The sky glittered, and she couldn't help but be mesmerized by such a blue majesty.
