The white she-wolf was a transparent ghost in the lead-shaded smogs. For the most part, she had remained well-kept and clean, but vigorous washings every half an hour had only slowed her in her single goal for the day: bring home a meal for the warriors who had been out all day. Funny thing, seeing as she had been out all day and she cared so little for her own ravenous hunger at the moment. And another thing, if Solaris hadn't brought back Pyre's buck earlier, the seniors and neophytes would still be hungry, too. It's a lonely thing, not having any queens or pups, and even more lonely being the smallest pack...but we have the biggest hearts, and our skills and patience will aid us more than the others in these harsh times. Scenting was almost impossible here, and as the already dim light grew into a deeper dark, Natalia began to lose hope of making a catch this night. But a sofst trudging of hooves caught her stellar, perked auds. She swiveled around to behold an injured male moose, a creature that was supposed to be young and thriving in its new adult age, but instead was wounded and threatening to collapse. "Twilight....grant this creature rest and peace in your arms, for he will serve the great purpose of feeding wolves of honor and his pride will remain intact, as none of his kind will see him pass or be able to disown him." Natalia felt a burning gratitude for the moose, but also knew that she would not be able to take it down by herself -- injury or no injury, a moose was a group effort, and seeing as this one was injured, two warriors would be able to do the trick. Well I can't go back! I'll loose it in the mists....

Talisman snorted slightly with irritation at the heavy mist she now found herself in. She smelt the scent of a moose, and her tail wagged. She was so hungry, and she hadn't eaten for a while. But she knew she would need help. No sooner than she had thought that, another scent came to her. Another Sheeran. Talisman wasn't sure of the gender, but then again, it didn't really matter to her. If the other wolf helped her take down the moose, then she would be fine. She then spotted the white she-wolf, and an injured moose buck. She slowly approached the other female and spoke softly.
"Hello. I am Talisman, a Sheeran Warrior. Want help with taking that moose down?"
She stood, crouched, and waiting for the other she-wolf to speak. She didn't really socialize with the other Sheeran's that much, except for Fang. Oh Fang.......She shook her head, and snapped back to reality. She blushed slightly, and waited for the other femme to speak.

As if on cue, or maybe because Twilight could still sight her through the gaps in the shifting fogs, another Sheeran emerged and woofed her introduction. Natalia managed a tired, but genuine smile for the newcomer. She recognized the scent of her pack kin even through the haze -- it was a strong scent that was close to Natalia's heart. However, she didn't really identify with the wolf's own individual scent mixed in -- she hadn't really spoken to Talisman before, though she had seen her a few times when the pack assembled for meetings and such. She nodded and stood up from her sitting position, eyeing the moose. "That would be perfect! It's so hard to hunt in this...mess," she flicked her tail to the hanging mists. "All right....are you well-balanced or do you think you would be better off ramming its side than leaping onto its back for the kill?" she asked the Sheeran.

Talisman smiled genuinely at the other she-wolf. She also stood up and shook her pelt. She eyed the female casually. Talisman only knew one Sheeran closely, and that was Fang. She had seen this she-wolf a few times, from afar, but never personally. Maybe this hunt would help Talisman make some more friends. She listened to Natalia speak, and she replied, her tail flicking from side to side.
"Well, I do have very good balance, if I do say so myself. Yeah, I'll get him from behind, and you take the side, okay?"
She smiled over to the other Sheeran, before slowly making her way behind the moose, without being seen, hiding in the bushes and shrubs surrounding the moose, Natalia and herself. She waited for some sort of signal for Natalia to make a move.

"Behind?" Natalia asked, puzzled. "I was gonna say leap onto his back and bite the back of his neck while I ram the side. If we take him from behind, he's gonna kick your head clean off," she nodded to the thin, but still powerful legs of the moose. The hooves were sharp a gruesome, a quick death for a wolf not too careful. She wasn't angry or anything ;; some wolves didn't hunt moose very often, or were just better at avoiding being kicked.

Talisman listened and her auds perked up slightly. She didn't really hunt moose all that often....She blushed slightly and spoke again.
"Oh. Well, okay then."
She grinned, before slowly creeping up on the moose, and waiting for Natalia to do something.

Natalia wasn't one for mockery, but it would still probably save her some embarresment seeing as Natalia could not detect the hairs standing on end that signaled a wolf's blush on Talisman. Now, all that was on the wolf's mind was the hunt. "All right...here we go, then. I'm going to ram it from the side to stop it from bucking up while you're on top of it, but it will kick and thrash a lot, so you have to get to the back of the neck quick, bite as hard as you can, and don't let go until it's limp....let's do it!" She grinned, turning and slinking down. She layed in waiting in the fog to the side of the moose, prepared to spring at its side as soon as Talisman made her move on top of the creature. There's a first time for everything -- and maybe after we take this back to camp we could wander around and see what else we can find....I dunno. She doesn't seem so bad....but we haven't really talked much. Who knows? Solaris thinks I need to get out more... In truth, her brother was intensely worried about her. But Natalia was worried about Solaris, too. He didn't seem to be too terribly depressed over Lirenia's dissappearence, but he hadn't really made any moves to get involved socially with any other wolves....then again, Natalia had never really been close with anyone except for her brother. She supposed he did have some reason to worry... Worry about things later -- the pack needs to be fed now. She turned her mind back to the hunt.

Talisman smiled when Natalia didn't really pay much attention to her mistake, and she listened as Natalia began to explain how the hunt was going to play through....well, hopefully, anyway. Talisman had complete faith in Natalia, but she didn't have much in herself. But, she was making new friends, so hopefully she would pass through her 'shy' phase.
"Alright then, let's go for it!"
She laughed and skulked off into the mist. She began to go through what Natalia said in her head a few times, and then she softly counted down to herself.
"3"
She shook her pelt, and her orbs became fixed upon the moose's neck.
"2"
She let her muscles tense, and got ready to strike.
"And.....1!"
She soundlessly leapt onto the moose's back, and as quick as a flash, she latched herself onto the moose's neck with her teeth, cutting off his windpipe, waiting to feel Natalia make her move. She just hoped that she was doing it right.

Seconds after they had been speaking normally, Natalia and her companion were fully launched into the hunt. Talisman was quick with her work, and Natalia bounded forth to do her part. She rammed hard against the moose's side to keep him too distracted to buck and possibly dislodge Talisman. She hoped the creature's thrasing would not impair her packmate's work. It was clear Talisman was hitting the mark, but the wounded moose was fighting on bravely -- and Natalia even felt respect and admiration for the creature and she continuously raked her claws across the moose's flank. "Not much longer -- just try and add a bit more force, and maybe we can down him! He's apparently quite determined," she shouted to her hunting partner.

Talisman smiled as she felt Natalia ram into the moose's side. Tali had respect for the moose, as it would feed her and her packmates, and yet it was still fighting on bravely. She bit into his neck a little harder, and kept both of her back paws, with claws unsheathed, and she used her free front paw to swipe at the bull's neck, hoping to sap some more of his energy. She looked down briefly to her hunting partner, and spoke.
"Ok, shouldn't take long now.....And yes, he's very determined."
Talisman then continued to bite into the moose's neck, and woofed triumphantly as she felt the moose buckle, and sway slightly. Talisman held on for as long as she could, but she felt herself slipping. It was just as well that the moose was already down, and gasping for air. Talisman spoke.
"Ok, I think we have him!"
Talisman slipped of the buck quickly, and launched herself at his neck, biting down, whilst she was crouched to the ground.

Natalia stepped back as it appeared their work was finished ;; the moose was most definitly done now, as their efforts proved. "Great work," Natalia smiled to her packmate. "The two of us will probably be able to carry him back, if we put him across our backs -- it'll be hard, but there have been bigger moose to carry in the past. We'll be fine," she concluded. She padded towards the moose, then sat instead of nosing it over her shoulders. "I guess we should probably take a breather for a minute, though," she laughed softly -- a rarity.

Talisman nodded, and smiled, before replying. She was rather proud of her first moose kill. She may not of done it alone, but she was grateful for the help, and for a bit of company aswell. She spoke.
"Thanks, you too. And ok, a breather might be a good idea."
She laughed quietly, and sat down beside Natalia, on the other side of the moose carcass. She began to re cooperate, and waited for her new friend, and pack-mate, to reply.

It didn't take long to catch her breath -- the moose hadn't been to terribly large, and the kill really hadn't taken much energy from her. Actually, it was just the opposite: she felt relieved immensely, revoked, awaked from the thrill of a hunt that hadn't spurred in her for over a moon now. Well, this with whatever anybody else caught today should be enough to feed us for a couple of days. Too bad we really can't store much stuff from it....well, at least we can use the fur and skin for fresh bedding. The old stuff is almost gone, and the stuff that's left is crumbling to bits because its so dry. "You ready?" she woofed.
