The fresh scents of the morning air awoke Shila from her slumber. She stretched out and yawned as her morning routine. Shila is five months old and three weeks away from turning six months. Though she was five months, Shila is a small pup for her age. Her paws were especially small. Boredom was Shila's main enemy and she was always battling boredom. A newly fallen leaf was at the entrance of the Nursery and curiousity got the best of the pup. Shila bounded to the leaf grabbing it and taking it back inside the Nursery. Shila placed the leaf at her paws and examined it wondering what to do with the newly found treasure. Shila niped the leaf making it fly to the air and drift down again. Shila repaeated this over and and over till she got to her paws and flung the leaf into the air and tackled it as it came back down. Shila eventually shredded the leaf with her sharp pup teeth. The game grew tiring and Shila laid down and sighed....

Raffa, the about 12 year old Neophyte waltzed in, casually shaking his pelt. His eyes gleamed and he pawed at the ground. Being confined to camp stinks! I only put that maggot filled rabbit in Fireflight's den for a joke... In his mind he trailed off. Now Raffa was the pretty boy bad boy of the pack. He should have been made a warrior long ago but refused to learn anything but basic hunting skills and some fighting.
He was a terrible Neophyte, always causing trouble. He turned to look to Shila.
"Whats up?"
((Sorry this was fast I have to go! ^.^))

Shila looked up to see Raffa. She got to her paws and sighed. "Nothing much really I was just trying to make a game, but I can't seem to make one. Nothing intresting ever happens in here." Shila pawed at the shredded leaf. The usually playful pup was less playful than she has ever been. "I am almost old enough to be a Neopyhte but I still have awhile before that happens." She laid down again and sighed from intense boredom.

Raffa sighed and layed down on the ground as well. He scratched marks in the dirt with his claws. Looking up, he saw that Shila really wanted to become a Neophyte. He nodded and spoke.
"It aint that great kid. You have to do everything! Get stuff for the retired warriors, get stuff for warriors. Here I am, old enough to be a warrior, but nobody catches my drift."
He shook his head. Raffa enjoyed calling younger wolves "kid". It made him feel like a warrior. he shook his head and smiled slightly, pawing at the dirt once again. His eyes scanned Shila for any sign of sneakiness or aggresion, but he found none. Speaking once again, Raffa allowed the scorn of his words to ribbon right out.
"Hah. When ya been a Neophyte as long as me, ya have to cause a lil trouble. Why just yesterday I put a maggoty carcass of rabbit or something in Fireflight's den. Thats the reason I'm here, bored to death."
Wishing he could hunt, he cracked his neck and lay his head on his paws. Rolling his eyes up to the sky, he pouted silently. Curse his stupidness.

Shila sat upright and shook her head slowly back and forth.
"You have it all wrong Raffa. That's what a Neophyte is suppose to do. Work hard and train hard thats suppose to mold you into a wonderful warrior, and if you want my opinion I think you'll be a great warrior. Since you have probably been a Neophyte longer than anyone in camp. That should make you one heck of warrior."
Shila only spoke with truth to everyone unless she got into some mischeif then she covers that little secret up. When Shila heard what Raffa said afterwards she was totally taken by suprise.
"You what! Wow Raffa I knew you had guts but not that much guts. Putting a maggot ridden rabbit in the den of our highly respected leader, wow you are bold.......And did Fireflight find out it was you who did it?"

He let out a low growl as Shila told him how he had it all wrong. Yadda yadda yadda. He was old enough to do anything for himself. He was basically an adult. He had been alive and on this earth for a year. I think I can think of things for myself. Shaking his head, he spoke, words ribboning off his tongue into little tones of annoyance.
"Yeah...sure. Of course you think that. Oh every pup wants to be a Neophyte. The first moon its fun. And working? Not my style. I prefer to work for someone I respect. Ha...I doubt I'll ever become a warrior. I'll probably leave this joint by then and start my own thing or scare off foolish young 'uns that I see around wherever."
Shila was one of those wolves who thought the world was a bowl of fruit, or so Raffa thought. According to him, it "aint" that good. His trust could falter in a heartbeat to any wolf that was strong, sincere, and powerfully popular. Shila told him how he had guts and he smiled, cocking his head.
"Yeah...Fireflight found out all right. Turns out I had a few maggots crawling on my back."
He shuddered, then allowed a smile to creep across his face. Maybe Shila would agree to the idea he was about to put out. He swallowed, then stepped closer, towering over the little pup.
"Hey...I could...you know...teach you the ropes. We could venture to the forest. I think I'm responsible enough. One year old...almost a Warrior. I think it seems fit that I train you."
He smiled. He could gain this little wolf's trust. Nurture her in the ways of living. Be like his own kind of mentor. Then, when he was ready to leave or something else, take her with him. It was a weird plan...which was not foolproof and likely to fail, but he could always try. Shila would never notice him lying through his cold, unloyal teeth.

Shila glowered at Raffa when he said he would scare off young wolves. She was about to be a Neophyte herself so if he ever tried scaring her off she highly thought it wouldn't work, though with her unstable heart that gets scared of surprises and wildly excited it always over reacts and pounds heavily in her chest. When Raffa said he didn't respect Fireflight or at least she thought he was saying that, that really angered her though he was twice her size so challenging him would be like stepping in the way of a stampeding herd of elk.
"I suppose your right about that, but I am sure it has some perks to it, like freedom. Freedom to explore the outside of camp. I don't have that kind of freedom but you do. That must be something to be proud about. Working for others would be way better than lying about in camp doing nothing. I don't have siblings or mother to play with so I consider you extremely lucky!" Shila didn't mean to snap but she was really upset that she didn't have a family and she pretty sure no one in camp pitied her which was the way she wanted it. Having no siblings was another story she wanted to play with others but everyone is usually busy and no one has time to play with a pup anymore as it seems.
Raffa's offer seemed to good to be true. The thought of leaving camp was heart stopping, in a good way. The thought of him being her mentor was another story altogether. Raffa was pretty clever and moderately smart but his guidance was probably not for her, though she couldn't resist to say no because having one friend or some company was what Shila wanted more than anything.
"Hmm.....why not I don't see any problem with that idea. Fireflight might but as I think you may have recently said or somewhat said who cares about her opinion anyway.....right?"
Shila felt guilty to say such things about her leader but she didn't show it on her face. She wanted to leave camp more than anything, to see the outside world was so exciting to her.

Raffa smiled with happiness. His plan had come into action. Soon, this little pup would be his own robot...or maybe not. He smiled and did a small, yet playful growl. Leading Shila out of the nursery, he stopped in the middle of the camp. "Crap." There was a gaurd stationed at the exit. Snarling and cursing, Raffa itched to rip his fur off. Stalking towards the new Warrior gaurd, he curled his lip. A flick of his tail signalled Shila to stay where she was, but to watch what was about to happen. "I don't think you wanna stand here much longer buddy. I'll take your spot." The wolf sniffed in. "Fireflight said tha-" "I DON'T CARE! If you don't get your furry butt into the Warrior's den now, I'll rip you to shreds." It was only loud enough for Shila and the other wolf to hear, but the other wolf got the message. As he hurried away, Raffa nipped his tail, leaving a trickle of blood on the dirt behind the frightened wolf. "Come on." He stalked out of the camp. ((Start a new post in the territories.))

Shila hesitated for she was a bit shocked to see Raffa's dark side, which kind of scared her a little. She was glad she was on his side since she isn't nearly or close to being tall to the other wolves. Shila wanted to follow Raffa but maybe he was going a bit to far with getting what he wanted. Shila shook her head at the thought and leapt to follow Raffa out of camp........
