Bakar slowly marched through the snow, every shadow that moved startling him, nearly making him dive under the nearest bush or shrub. He stalked on, the newly fallen snow crunching under his weight.
Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.
Memories ran through his head. The pride he felt for his team whenever they won a race. Then the beatings from his master when Bakar slacked off or lost a race. The hunger he felt after the daily serving of only one pound of fish. The feeling of excitement as he faced a bear and took it down alongside his master, even though the earth-shattering gunshot hurt his ears every time a shot was fired.
Then came the memories of the crash. He felt so small inside the man-made bird that was so noisy and jerked through the blizzard. Then came the impact. It left him bleeding and feeling more small than ever. Then came the boy who released him, but Bakar didn't thank the human, he just ran, afraid of being hurt again. He'd been on his own since then, not that he wasn't alone already.
Bakar started as he turned up a mouse. He tried to give chance, but it was already too far away and it dived into another burrow. So Bakar was without food again. He continued his pace, unsure of where to go or how to gain his courage back.

**Anikah sauntered slowly through the woods, trying her best not to leave deep and obvious paw marks through the deep snow, trying not to slip on icy patches, trying to stay upright in the hazardous conditions. So far she had met success in the area of hunting in this new territory, she had also found a nice den which despite being overgrown and messy which provided shelter from the icy winds and heavy snow falls, however, she had yet to meet another wolf, which she currently quested for.
She had traveled scarce and hour out of her "territory" as she called the area which she hunted and slept in, and hadn't even seen the sign of a bird, let alone a wolf. She was nervous, was there some beast lurking out there which kept the animals away? She heard a crunch, and almost jumped out of her pelt probably just falling snow she thought.**

Bakar caught the scent of another wolf and crouched low, ears drawn back flat to his head. His back arched and his tail went between his legs.
"W-who's there?" he whimpered. If a little mouse had scared him, he had to be terrified by the other wolf.
Though the dog in him cowered, the wolf in him urged him to stand and fight, though he found it impossible. The fact that he had once been both a sled dog and a bear hunter sided with the wolf, though the memories of the crash sided with the dog.

Only me,** Anikah replied softly, wondering how she could have mistaken this cowering dogs scent as that of a wolf. Mind you he did look quite frightened, maybe he was a half breed or something, maybe he had been chased out of his pack because of that. He looked rather pathetic (to her anyway) and she thought maybe she ought to offer him some help, who knows, it might pay off latter. So she asked politely,** are you okay? do you need help?

Bakar backed up a step. "This isn't a trick, is it?" His ears lifted the slightest bit and his tail sat normally now, but he still wasn't ready to completely trust the wolf. "I-I don't want any trouble, I'm just lost. Please don't hurt me."

**Anikah frowned, puzzled beyond reason, usually when offered help she didn't beg not to be hurt,** what's bothering you? **She queried, wondering if maybe he was crazed from starvation or he had been driven out from where ever he came from because he was mad in the first place,** are you being chased? **She asked. Having known a few mad wolves she knew they always had some crazed story which they had to tell, might as well get it over with early.**

"Chased? By who? Are there many other wolves around?" Bakar crouched lower to the ground and looked around the trees frantically, thinking that any moment something would jump out and attack him.
"I'm not from around here... I remember the machine the humans made going over mountains and a lot of water... I'm not sure how far away it took me."
Bakar shoved his face in the snow, trying to get rid of the frightening scenes that came to mind.
"I used to be a great dog. I hunted bears and was a lead sled dog! Now I'm afraid of a little mouse! I'm pathetic!"

**His response confirmed Anikah's theory, he was indeed mad if he was going on about hunting bears and all the other mad stuff.**
Theirs nobody out there but me, relax, I'm not going to turn you into dinner, I just want some information.
**She explained, trying to be comforting.**
I still have some meet back at my den, you're welcome to some of it.
**This was going to be a long, long walk back home, she hopped it was worth it.**

Bakar stood up straight, however he couldn't hold himself with hardly any pride or dignity, not even his own honor was present in his stance. Just a moon ago, he would have started a huge fight, even one to the death, to keep his pride, dignity, and honor together. Now, he was nothing but a worthless coward.
"You're not gonna hurt me? Even though I'm a stranger and I'm trespassing? This is your land, right?"
Bakar hoped it wasn't a trick, but he needed shelter, even if for only a little while.

**She sighed and resisted rolling her eye, yup he was mad, she hopped he could at least give her some decent information.**
No I'm not going to hurt you. Who cares if you're a stranger there's nobody else here, and thirdly since there's nobody else here within a days run I guess it's all my territory.
**She replied, trying to sound comforting as she began to walk slowly towards her den.**

Bakar followed at a slightly slower pace, but made sure he didn't fall to far behind. As he crept forward, he kept low to the ground, still thinking something was going to jump out at him.
"Why are you helping me?" he asked, still not fully trusting the other wolf. "I'm Bakar by the way."

**Maybe he wasn't so mad after all if he knew you to introduce himself, maybe he was just spooked, she thought as she replied,** to be honest I'm quite bored and lonely of late, as well as having no connection with the outside world.
Oh, by the way **She added as an after thought,** my name is Anikah, pleased to meet you.
**Despite being about mad creatures before, she had never lied about her name before, and wasn't going to start now.**

"Bored? Out here? Where I'm from, there's never a dull moment. Then again, there were a ton of dogs who made packs that tried to kill you whenever they saw you if you weren't with them, and bears were always roaming, though the numbers are dying down because of the human hunters."
Bakar walked up straight now, though he kept glancing around and kept his guard up.

What on earth are dogs! **She asked, before she could stop herself. He obviously wasn't mad (she decided), he probably came from another area, maybe 'dog' was a word for 'pup' or just wolf. In her existence she had never meat a dog, which was common among the loner wolves, for if they ever meat a 'dog' they would kill it as a threat instantly.** Are they some sort of animal or wolf? ** She asked curiously.**

"A dog is a decedent from wolves. Some look almost exactly like wolves, and others are so small and fat that you would never guess it. There are countless breeds, each of them look very different. Humans keep them and make them race, hunt, fight to the death for their enjoyment, you name it, they have no limits. Some families keep them and just pamper them until they've forgotten their roots, which isn't hard at all, most already have, and a couple of breeds don't even like the idea of their ancestors hunting and fighting. Some humans cross dogs with wolves to make them stronger and faster, which is what I am. I used to race with a team of other dogs and my master made me hunt bears, though I can't figure out what they find in it. Both me and my master have almost died numerous times." Bakar explained.
He remember how horribly some of the owners treated their dogs, and those who had no spirit left became no more than a whimpering mess. Those he knew that fought could become a great friends, and then the next day he would never see them again. Some dogs had begged for help, but he could do anything, chain was used the most there. Some dogs would just follow him with their pleading eyes and whimpering, but their owners had already killed them inside too much for them to live on their own.
