The bulky form of the alphess finally arrived. After moons of absense, she has returned. Her eyes, shimmering in the limited light, glistened with sadness and guilt. She trotted low to the ground, seeming weaker than she was before. Her limp, that had been perminittedly bound into her once graceful leg by the powerfully force of a tree, was almost too noticable. Her left ear was ripped and jagged, her fur coarse and dirty. It was definiately not noticable because of her fur, but beneath her bulky fur coat, the female was badly emancipated. Her fur below her eyes were stained with dark tears, and, all together, she looked like a mess. She trotted towards the ledge, she climbed it with more difficulty than usual(which isn't usual anymore). She didn't know if anyone was here, she had lost her sense of smell, but she wouldn't tell them that. It WAS the New Moon, they could still be at the meeting, though violet velvet was seeping into the sky. She laid down, her mind somber; she felt useless. She had lost her sense of smell, her eardrum in her left ear has been punctured, causing her to lose balance(which is why she is trotting LOW to the ground), she was emancipated, and quite a piece of ---- compared to what the strong Siverian alphess should be. She fixed her eyes, her only sense that was still at it's strongest, on the entrance, occasionally flickering her eyes to dens looking for movement.

For all of the love and hate that had collided so dynamically over the past few moons, Nightshade had been an emotional wreck. Now, there was no dawn of tears or lightning strike of passion left to light flames in her eyes. now, nothing was truly left but an awaiting, rising dawn of creeping apathy. And, despite how much she'd begged to no longer feel in the midsts of writhing pain and guilt, she realized with bitter dread that numbing herself to her pallette of feelings was not the answer. So, she'd decided that since it already seemed so, it was time she'd split her worlds fully in two. In darkest night, she was Iver's lover. In the heat of the moment, she was Nightshade, beta to the Siverians. And if ever the two worlds came to meet, she was Nightshade secretkeeper, who would do whatever it took to keep her place in the Siverians and avoid harming Iver as best as she could. But she was not prepared to be Nightshade, alpha of the Siverians. That was one role she knew, deep to her very core, she could not play. And the signs that had been blaring at her for months couldn't outshine this knowledge. She was not their leader. At least not in this day and age. She shuddered to think of ever having to take Sabela's place. Things were already tough enough to balance. How would she manage being an alphess afflicted romantically with her nemesis alpha? Or, the more heart-quaking question: how could she lead her pack to what is right when she couldn't even steer herself on the right path when it came to love and lust...and loss? And so it was completely natural that fainting took her when her eyes rested so divinely thankful upon the mangled but moving form of her dear Sabela.

Sabela wanted to sob with relief at the sight of the beta. Throughout her journey back home, she had a torturing thought... that thought that kept her trucking home. She hadn't known who was alive and who was dead. She hadn't known if the recent destructions had torn the pack to shreds. She hadn't known if her dear friend had lived. When she had come into the packlands she couldn't rely on a sharp sense of hearing to figure out if her pack was alive, because of the loss of her hearing in one ear, she couldn't rely on a sharp sense of smell to find out if the Siverian scent was strong, due to her loss on smell. No; she had to rely on her instincts, that had grown far too sharp as she battled the rugged wild, to find her way home. Despite the destruction that had happened, Nightshade was there; quite alive and quite... well, intact. And with a small peace of sanity placed back into her mind, Sabela whimpered lovingly and trotted with inbalance(better way to put it: she fell) down the slope and trotted in such a curved line it was almost a circle, curving left due to her destroyed eardrum and loss of balance, towards her lovely Nightshade, lovingly attacking her snout with kisses.

Nectar was piddling around nearby when she saw her alphess. Shock. Confusion. Hesitation.
Well, at least the last emotion was normal. She stepped out of the shadows a bit, but still hung back slightly, unsure how to greet the alphess.
She watched nervously as Sabela fell down the ledge. But when she saw what happened next, the corners of Nectar's mouth turned up a little.
Everything would be all right. Well, at least for now.

Slowly, Nightshade's eyes blinked open, they flickered around the camp, now gradually filling with Siverians once more, then locked them unwaveringly on Sabela. Her mouth moved furiously, desperately trying to find her voice, as it seemed to have deserted her. After a few agonizing moments of struggle, she seemed to find at least a snatch of vocalization. "Sabela....oh, Sabela, please, tell me it's really you and you've returned! I can't be dreaming, we need you now, oh, we need you!"
Freya's pawsteps quickened, as did her breath, and her ears stood erect. Sabela had returned? She watched the snowflakes in awe as they fell now, pieces of ornate white that had disgusted her not long before this. But now, she openly gaped with wonder. Winter came a few days ago, and returned our alphess....return Annelise, too, please!

Zero watched the alphess with no emotion clear on his face. His eyes were dark and blank, almost lifeless. He said nothing, nor did he bother coming out of the shadows to were he could be seen better, instead hanging back with Blizzard at his side.
He acted as though nothing had ever happened, as though the moons that Sabela had been no more than a day or two. He calmly waiting for the pack's leader to call for the rest of the pack and make her announcements.
--
Blizzard sat next to Zero by the night dens in the shadows. Though he could be seen easier than his friend, he still hung back. He too watched the alphess with a blank, nearly lifeless look, waiting patiently. What could you expect from the neophyte, with Zero as nearly his only friend? He looked up to the older wolf and thought of him as an older brother.

Two youthful, yet well-grown shapes appeared in the crowd -- pups in actuality, but truly ready to be neophyted. And the arrival of the alphess seemed to mean that that would happen soon. Excitement lit the eyes of Griffen and Kaylee for the first time in the harsh, cold moons after their brother and mother were murdered. Where were the Hellfire wolves now? Nightshade had spoke of them in a way that made the packs wonder, but not wonder enough. What more could they do? The wolves would think they were mad if they said it outright, point blank.... Oh yeah, and I forgot about the whole proxy dealio, too. I suppose she'll announce that, too.

(Oooh, and, if any of your wolves need ceremonies please do IMPLY that they need them, like our dear Siveria did. That would be greatly appreciated... unless you want me to go through all the threads and find out whose what age... I will do that if I must... anyway... anyone else... ceremonies?)

((I think Maia, Kaylee, Griffen, and Natoma are the only pups needing to be made into neophytes...and then the proxy....taking a look at the Pack Stats, that's what I'd say, I think ^^))

((I thought it was Maya not Maia but OK.))
Maia ran with her brothers and sisters happly looking at the alphess, what an amazing view. It was her first time looking at the alphess unless she doesn't remember things, her brothers and sisters in the way. The pup-that-was-ready-to-become-a-neophyte was totally ready to train with another warrior, it was breathless. Speaking of that, here it comes again. hick-up
((Heehee I had to bring in the sickness of the hick ups again.))

(( Omigosh yes I'm so sorry xD I forgot. ))
Kaylee glanced over at Maya with reluctant hope shining through the holes of her grim gaze. It didn't seem right that they should be happy without Mystic and Corsivo. They should be here to, feeling this, being a part of it, living it....still breathing, with hearts beating. Young she may be, but she'd seen enough war and hate in her short six moons or so to understand that things in the world were not always as they should be. I'll train twice as hard, for Corsivo. I'll make the pack twice as proud of me, for Mom. God, I wish they were here with us now. Someday, I'll find them. Until then...I guess I'll just do what they would've wanted me to. Make them proud, fight for the pack, do my best....stuff like that.
