Moonset searched the rocky and marshy home which she now lay in. She was starting to know a few wolves here. They were kind, and very unique. But right now, she felt lonely. At her old home, she was not into the friendship and mating idea, but now, she knew she must start a new life. Still, she seemed so embarrassed, that she thought any of these perfect wolves would want her as their mate. She lay her head down slowly drifting to sleep, imagining a family, living deep in the marshy land, happy. Love. Moonset jerked awake. Regretfully, she walked away, towards the dusk dens, and lay down there where no one could watch her sleep.

Moonset was not alone in this particular area of the dusk dens -- in the moss and rabbit fur bedding next to her rested a proud female with the calling of Luma. Luma, unlike the rest of the snoring wolves in the dens, was as awake as Moonset. Her eyes, a breath-taking robin's egg blue, were tracing the stars above them idly. Her bodice was lean -- she was a born runner -- and coated with sterling moonshine glazed with ebony streaks. A young thing, but not at all haughty or arrogant in any beauty she may have. Luma was a gentle soul, a soft-spoken and nurturing female. A sweetheart perhaps. But not one to suffer fools gladly. As her eyes looked upon the moon in its brilliant splendor, her gaze grazed Moonset. She blinked back at her, surprised to find another of the pack awake. "I didn't know you were awake, Moonwind," she murmured softly, a friendly smile upon her maw. She knew of Moonwind as she knew of most of the Sheerans, but only by name. She'd yet to converse with the fae. Maybe she's nice. I wonder what's keeping her up?

Moonset failed to turn her head and look at the gentle wolf who set her gaze upon her. Her green eyes flicked back and forth, hesitating to look at the unknown wolf. "It's...Moonset.." She said shyly, and somewhat crossly. Her vigorous thinking had left her half grumpy, half nervous. Moonset stood up warily. "I... don't mean to be so rude." She said with as much apology as possible. Anxiously, she turned around to face the she-wolf, and to her surprise, all the harsh feelings went away as soon as the pale blue gaze rested upon her fur. She felt like rain, falling into a puddle to join its friends, after being stuck up in a leaf for so long. As if the eyes were telling her to lay down and vent, Moonset did so immediately. But before any sorrowful or anticipating words could escape, Moonset was showering wolfy tears. "I, I...I-" This moment was too much for Moonset, after all, she had been so joyful and self keeping before, the crying made her feel vulnerable. Moonset forced her paws to cover her face shamefully, and quicker than lightning was it when she broke out the truth to Luma. Standing up with her head high, cheeks still dancing with tears, she choked the words. "I don't want to be alone anymore."

Luma opened her mouth to speak, eyes apologetic, "I'm sorry, I got confused with another wolf, nice to meet you Moon--" She broke off, watching, a bit shocked and taken aback, as the waterworks poured from the poor female. She was wracked with grief, and as Luma watched in silent suprise, she felt her stomach turn and twist into sympathetic knots. She licked Moonset's shoulder gently, a comforting gesture, and blinked back at her with a sadened gaze. "Moonset, why do you think you are alone? You are part of the great and legendary Sheerans -- why are you pained so terribly?" Oh dear...didn't see this coming. I hope everything's okay...I mean, I've seen some pretty messed up stuff. And with the Yozorans and Destinians and Siverians all snappin' at each other....well, she seems nice. Hopefully I'll be able to help her pull through...

Moonset's breathing quickened with grief. She sniffed away her tears and forced her fur to lay flat. Before long Moonset was back on her feet, looking normal, as if nothing happened, besides her eyes, which were red with sobbing. "Oh, Luma. I never let myself go like that," her voice rasped. "When I joined you, I had actually found my one, true love, Katana. And it all was destroyed when he was killed by..." Moonset hesitated. Was she saying too much? But the eyes of Luma calmed her, making her confident. "Another wolf. Killed my mate. So I killed him. And now, I just don't know what to do. If I should move on, and the worse part about it was... Oh, Luma, I left my pups with the other Pack. You see, I was so scared of being caught for murder I ran, and now I feel like I betrayed them. I was their alpha, their MotherWolf, who left her own pups without a mother nor father."
"Luma, If I explained EVERYTHING of my past it would take a moon, or even a year." Moonset's eyes were emerald and white again, allowing Moonset to come out of the shadows and lay in a particular beam of light without leaving the dens, so she could continue her talk with Luma. Something made Luma so comforting. And without realization, Moonset had found a friend.

Luma smiled gently, shock subsiding now. and understanding flooding her gaze. "It is true, you do have a fractured past, Moonset, but think: neither of us speaking here are of Sheeran decent. I have family everywhere, in enemy packs, as loners...some I haven't even met. Pups are different. That is a pain I do not know of. Nor is losing a mate a pain I know of. But there are many wolves here that do, just as you, have stories to tell that involve their suffering....it is part of nature. I do not think it would be logical or probable that we could retrieve your pups....I'm under the impression it is not a pack that wanders this valley?" She asked. She thought deeply for a moment, reflecting on what Moonset had told her. She's had a rough go of it..... Her throughts flashed to those days back in the mountains, running for their lives, her family. But she didn't think of her memories in horror anymore -- rather marveled that fate had led them to survive in such a pleasant way. "Moonset, there is a female I think you would enjoy talking to. She has faced something near similar to you, though different all the same. Her name is Winter -- the newest bearer in our nursery. It might be hard to see pups, I understand, but I think it would help you....and Winter's mate has been missing for moons that I stopped keeping track of. What do you say? I think you two would help each other, in fact, I'm certain of it."

Moonset listened intently into the wolf's words. Right now she felt a strange excitedness, as if she wanted to tell her story before her "counseling". And with enthusiasm, she did so. "Oh, but Luma, you have been so good to me right now. May I tell you about my journey? It would mean a lot." Then Moonset hesitated. The story would take so long, and Luma probably wouldn't listen. Still, she was so happy to talk to some one, not knowing how a wolf would feel if she just barged in on her and her pups. Who was it? Winter? The name was oh so familiar. Yes, she remembered Winter, his sweet loving eyes, who finally found love at old age, Petunia. The ware-wolf who was never to turn human again. They were so sweet. The lonely wolf at her old Pack, Winter, had loved Moonset once. Moonset wanted to tell Luma something though! "Luma, yes. My Pack is not familiar to any other like ours. They don't have the same aspects, rules, ways of life. We lived in the forest, far away from here. There was no name for us, except "The Wild Pack" often referred to us by loners or strays. We were so happy, peaceful. Until that stupid Mountain Pack came along. Why did I bring them there?..." Monset trailed away, leaving the sweet wolf beind to wonder about Moonset's exciting and adventurous life. She was going to see Winter.
