Paine was once again acting like the mean and aggressive wolf he was. While everyone else ran off to fight in the battle, he decided to stay behind to see how many wolves would come back alive. Instead, a bunch of stupid pups messed around with him so he left for some peace and quiet. He was also pretty mad spring was invading. He loved winter, it was a time of death and coldness, two of his favourite things. Despite his anger, he didn't snap at anyone when he left camp, but he didn't want to go to the battle to release his anger either. Paine would've preferred to release his anger on the pups, but they were just too easy to kill. He saw them as useless trash anyways, unable to protect themselves. That was probably why he couldn't see himself with a mate and pups of his own. He hated strong relationships, anyway. The only relationship that counted was with the pack. He would probably end up killing his mate out of anger or suicide. Most likely he'd suicide, he already didn't like the world. After the event with the annoying pups, Paine had been running around the territory and decided to finally stop at the rise. There was something strange about the place. Being called Silentnight's Rise, he felt like he could hear the spirit of the wolf giving him strength.

Weed limped unevenly through the shadowy woods, his gait slow, but certain. In the back of his mind, the brown warrior had no true destiniation selected, but it would seem, as they too often did, his paws had found a place to carry him to. He emerged from the denser brush and into a jagged rise that loomed over a vast portion of the forest, a great outpost of the valley. His eyes swept the land far below him idly, though he seemed to take little fascination in its beauty. His tail swept the stone behind him and he sat on the edge, studying the world below. It amazes me how one can be so mesmerized with things so simple and not understand the complexities that lurk below. The world is at war with itself. There is no beauty here. Wolf scent surrised him at first, but he dismissed it just as quickly -- it was only a Siverian. His ears flicked, a bit uncomfortable. He was used to being cramped in the small space with Annelise and her Yozoran mate, Shade, but other than his old friend, Kippy, he avoided most contact. It wasn't that he was stingy about his moons in captivity -- he'd been a loner from the start of his times in the Siverian pack -- but the recent events reinforced the barrier between him and his packmates. He blinked, recognizing Paine. Having never spoken to him previously, he barked a low greeting, "Hello. Nice night, isn't it?"

Perfect. Just what he needed. Another wolf to ruin is silence. "Yea, it's nice," Paine said quietly. He took a quick sniff to make sure the wolf was a Siverian. "So, who are you? I don't think I've ever met you before...?" He could sense the feeling of pain coming off the wolf and started wondering what happened. I'll ask after he speaks. I hate asking more than two questions at once.

Weed blinked his green eyes at the young wolf, glancing at him from the corners of his vision. "I'm Weed, one of the warriors," he barked, shrugging his broad shoulders. "I guess you probably wouldn't know me, you look like a relatively new neophyte. Well, new speaking in the span of a few moons. I haven't been around for a few moons, that's probably why we never saw each other," he offered. He shifted his gaze back to the expanse of terrain below, watching the moonless sky and the wolves filling into the Twilight Clearing once more. He had voluntarily opted out of the Moonless Meeting, feeling ill and preferring to be at camp rather in that crowded, cramped space once again... He shivered a bit, remembering the musty old den beneath the Eternal Tree. Between the physical barriers and Annelise and Shade....I think claustrophobia has been permanently drilled into my brain. Gosh, she didn't even get to tell him she was pregnant, did she? Nope, got attacked too fast for that to happen....
