Mister Sandman showing his sleeve...Change. It was rustling in the leaves, the summer growing colder, yet hanging on with fingers of humidity. The cloying conditions resulted in a cold temperature that actually felt quite sweaty and hot, adding extra weight to her thin, summer pelt. Nightshade crouched amongst the bracken and briars, eyes locked ahead of her, studying the undergrowth intently. The bush before her was swaying madly, rustling with a great racket. The twigs and leaves lashed about at each other. Yes, change was coming, and it appeared forecful--- Swish.Skillful and silent, the Siverian beta streamed from her place in the brush with years of ease in her painted stride. The bushes abandoned, a rabbit streaked out ahead of her, easy prey. One...two...three...And the two somersaulted, a swift maneuver in the dim light of morning, the rabbit clenched in Nightshade's jaws. The entire scene was over in a flash, a flicker. So maybe change had a more subtle coming to it.... after all, rabbits rustle, too. (I know it's a really lame post. I'm out of practice, deal. I have been writing from a wolf's point of view, but we all know writing outside of the site and writing on it is not always the same feel )

Furrowing her brow, Melina widened her eyes, snuffling across the ground. The tangy scent of a pheasant reached her nostrils and the Siverian alphess shook her cream colored pelt, following the scent determindly. She licked her lips delicately, finally alone at last. With all the neophytes and warriors always asking questions of her, Melina was engulfed in hustle and bustle and could not get up for air. Now here, alone in the wilderness, Melina could turn to her instincts and follow trails of prey, killing them once found.
She curved her tongue around her fangs and glanced up at the sky lightly. The scent was becoming fresher with every silent pawstep she took and as she rounded the corner of a tree trunk she spotted it. Smiling, Melina crept up behind it and lunged, breaking its neck instantly. Spitting it out easily, the alphess glanced u p to see Nightshade. She smiled at her beta.
"Why hello. How are you doing?"
[Bad post. :/ muse is running low ^^]

( Eh, that's all right -- then we both could use the practice ) A flash of creamy fur flickered at the edges of her vision. Straightening, Nightshade's eyes rested on the familiar form of her alphess, the Siverian scent wafting around them in a freshened burst. Melina was in chase with a pheasant, but it was over too swift for anyone to catch, save for the wolven eyes that lingered here. Nightshade dipped her head in respectful greeting, but her returning smile was more of a grin shared between friends than simplistic traditions of pack etiquette. "I'm fine, thank you, just came out her for a bit of air. I haven't been out this far in a while. I was a tad stir crazy," she relented, muscles relaxing as the threat of an enemy bursting from the brush had passed. She leaned leisurely against the tree, head swining upwards to gaze fondly upon the green canopy above. A cool breeze rushed across her pelt; she felt a twinge of sadness at the coming end of summer. Well, at least we have Winter on our side. She let her thoughts wander with the breeze, travelling to curious places. "May I ask what plans you have for naming a proxy?" The question seemed strange on her tongue, the name at the end increasingly foreign. She shuffled her paws, inclining her head at Melina. Did she sense it too? The last proxy was my dearest daughter...and she was executed with my grandson by the Hellfirian bastards. And this was all nearly a year ago... And before that, there was Riley, also murdered. And before that? Nightshade herself. We lose noble warriors when we name them too highly....are the Siverians truly supposed to have a beta?

[Erm Sivveh? I thought we were getting rid of proxy. Am I supposed to just pick a random wolf? Or tell Nightshade. And we haven't started a plot thread on that...]

(uhh yeah wer are, but remember we talked about doing it through rp? I think it would be best if you didn't pick one at all, and hopefully the leaders can come to a consensus to get rid of proxies before too long ;P )
