Siverian Ceremonies

(( Kaylee and Griffen to neophytes. They have siblings, but I'll let their rpers take care of that by themselves I'm not sure what the new Siverian mentoring system is going to be like.....I guess Melina will have to decide how to better manage it. I know we talked about mentoring in groups but there were other ideas, too, so...yeah. ))

For so many moons, Kaylee had felt trapped by the nursery barriers. Far to large for the small enclosure, she felt caged, contained in a space far too small for her zeal. She tore away from its thorny grasp with a shrill yip of delight, somersaulting into the main clearing of the Siverian camp. With bright, gleaming eyes, reminiscent of her grandmother's violet, she plopped herself at the heart of the camp and awaited her alphess with a trembling tail that yearned to lash about in a happy wag. "I'm ready! I'm ready!"

"Of course you are," her brother snorted, trailing slowly behind. Despite the aura of nonchalange, his tail was erect and eyes were sharply honed towards Melina's den. Any time now. It's not like we haven't been waiting forever or anything. He offered his sister a small half-smile, then sat next to her. Well, maybe we'll make more friends or something.

Melina strolled out of her den, head raised. Her eyes scanned the camp slowly, neck twisting slightly. A smile formed on her lips as she spotted Kaylee and Griffen. They seemed excited for their ceremony. Melina, not ever having done a ceremony before, had played the words in her head over and over. She leaped up onto the huge boulder and barked out.

"All wolves come to hear an announcement! Kaylee, Griffen. Please step forward."

Natoma glanced toward her siblings, her blue-tinted pelt bristling in delight. For a moment, she wondered how her deceased brother would feel about this, but ultimately dismissed the idea. I shouldn't think about that now.
Her tail sweeping from one side to the other, she sat behind her siblings, and listened as Kaylee and Griffen were invited to stand before Melina.

Aurora jumped gracefully from the top of her cave where she was resting and trotted over to where the others were gathering. She had never seen this type of ceremony before, and was curiois as to how it was done. Who would be their mentor? Shugging, she thought it might be fun to mentor a pup.
