Dangerous Waters[/u][/size][/color]
Just a year and a half after the battle at Hogwarts, the wizarding community has changed for the worse. Far, far worse. Voldemort won the last battle, sending Order members scurrying for their lives. Everyone knows Minister Thicknesse is just a puppet for the Dark Lord. Muggleborns are hunted down along with muggles, and with the Unforgivables no longer forbidden, it’s common to hear tales of torture, murder, and placing people under the Imperious curse.
Hogwarts is now under the control Dolores Umbridge again, and she is even worse than last time. Kinglsey Shacklebolt now leads the Order, with Minerva McGonagall as his second. Well-known order members such as the Weasleys are in hiding, and some have chosen to live at Order Headquarters. Others have chosen to alter their features, through both magical and non-magical ways, and remain in public.
In June, a year from the battle, Ron was captured by a group of Death Eaters. He was taken to Voldemort himself, and was cruelly tortured for days. Before he could be killed, it was decided Ron would do quite well as a spy, and he was placed under the Imperious curse. So far Ron has been kept under the curse, though he fights it, and is in return punished when he breaks free. The one thing he has managed to keep from the Death Eaters is the location of the Order hideout - even under the curse he is too loyal to let that slip.
Harry and Hermione suspect something is wrong with their friend, but they can’t prove anything. For now all they can do is what they have been doing - going after Death Eaters, with the goal of killing Voldemort once and for all - along with the rest of the Order.
