Storm Caller trotted gracefully out of his den into the cool morning air. The mist that clung to the ground that morning made the air moist, condensing on the leaves on nearby plants. Taking a deep breath, he padded to the center of the clearing where he was watching the forest.

The flame-pelted femme appeared at the mouth of the alpha den, where she paused and arched her back in a gleeful morning stretch. The tiredness was gone from her eyes and replaced with her old, familiar spark of energy. It feels so good not to be playing Atlas anymore! No wolf wants the weight of the world on their shoulders... New beta...new herb healer...well, she's still a neophyte, but she shows promise. Life is good again... Well, almost good. There was still the antagonistic neophyte and the psychotic one he had someone dragged into his schemes to consider...not to mention the threat of Blood Mist. Don't be such a downer, she told her conscience. Fireflight paused to survey the camp. Spotting Storm Caller in the clearing, she strode out to greet him with a slight dip of her head. "What's crackin'? Been out to the borders yet?" We should check them out soon...

It was just one of those really weird days when you feel like something is new. He hasn't been paying attention to the new stuff except for the BloodMist innocent. He remembered them when he was a neophyte when Star was his mother. He miss her and wants to see her again sometime this moon because it's been a long while. The last time was when the sickness occurred. Almost died during the process and it was not fun getting those acorns. Very difficult.
Kunai opened his eyes remembering that he was a warrior and not a neophyte, why couldn't he be one, those times were a lot better because Skysong was there. Damn he misses her. The warrior got up from the dens and just started walking outside. It has also been a while since he talked to anyone but that was OK with him though. Nothing could change that past right now. That seems depressing but he isn't depressed.
His nose twitched and saw the alphess(is that correct?) and another wolf. He didn't recognize the scent at all, like if he was a loner or something. Weird. Kunai padded toward the two wolves. "Umm... Fireflight, who's this?" He asked her.

Greeting his alpha, he replied. "Not yet. I was waiting for others to wake up so that I could lead a patrol to the border.." He yawned and stretched his legs. Life had been pretty peaceful in this pack ever sense he joined, with the occasional danger. Growing impatient, he strode into the warriors' den and barked, "Alright, up an at 'em!".

(Lol Star was his mother's name ) Fireflight nodded briskly, then blinked around the camp, eyes scouring the clearing for the token early risers among the Desitnians. She spotted Carolina shaking the moss and rabbit fur from her pelt just outside of the sleeping dens. A little ways away, her daughter, Tatiana, swallowed down her breakfast snowshoe. "I'll go with you," she decided suddenly. I need to get out of camp...and check those borders before I start getting paranoid. It seems nothing can stay completely right for long these days, or the universe turns in on itself. "Carolina, would you like to come?" She called to the gray femme. Before she could hear her response, her attention was summoned to Kunai's question. "Er...are you feeling ill at all? Storm Caller's the new beta, remember?"Carolina padded over to the gathering patrol, a small, sad smile on her maw. That's how the fae always was, in a way, though she concealed it with thing layers of other emotions; the sadness always lingered on her pretty features. Carolina pretended to be unaware of it, but she caught more than a couple of pitying gazes from her packmates. She didn't understand their pity. Sothis isn't dead, she told herself. Her love was still alive out there, somewhere. Or so she hoped. At least I have Etheris and Tatiana... And the pack is getting back on track with leadership....

Storm Caller counted each member of his patrol, then headed out with them, treading twords the border. He led them in a wide arc along the border until, suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. Something wasn't right here. He sniffed the air and listened intently, straining his ears forward. Someone, or something, was on destinian land. and it wasn't destinian.

Kunai dozed off past the two wolves, didn't even know that Tatiana was there or even woofed to anyone, and then heard Fireflight's voice was woofing. Asking if he was ill or something. She probably thinks that he is sick and doesn't remember them having a new beta. Even if he did remember the new beta, he didn't like him because he's being a little too strong on the warriors from just being in the position of being beta. The warrior didn't know what to do if he should stay or go on a patrol. Normally he'll be hunting for the others and himself but he hasn't been on a patrol in a while. Maybe if he does go, just go with Fireflight because he doesn't want to go with a strict beta who he doesn't really want to get in trouble with someone who could do some with him. More of the be safe or sorry. "I'm not ill Fireflight, at least I don't think so, I just don't remember us having a beta at all, sorry,"
He woofed. Kunai looked at Storm as he was counting the patrol. He didn't really notice how many wolves gathered in the patrol but he was just standing there. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

I know I can stop the pain If I will it all awayWhisper wandered back onto camp heading to her sleeping den with a small deer pelt in her mouth. She had just collect some food from a store she had made not but a few months earlier. She walked with poise and grace her moves full of bounce and purpose. Her fur shined healthy and bright even in the dull gray of the day. Hmm if I mix Nettle leaves and Juniper it might make the swelling and joint pained stay away longer. She padded softly around a tree and stopped looking at the wolf there. She wagged her tail in a greeting. Seeing as her mouth was still full. Fallen angels at my feet Whispered voices at my ear Death before my eyes

( Minor power play Aurora -- technically Fireflight / the others haven't moved yet You don't need to go back and edit, but just a clarification moving forward ^^ ) Fireflight smiled at the new healer neophyte as she passed them, clearly absorbed in thought. The camp is buzzing, she thought happily. Turning back to Kunai, Carolina, and Storm Caller, she flicked her tail towards her beta. "All right, let's get the show on the road." Fireflight nodded briskly to the rest of the group and followed the beta out of the camp and into the forest, where the borders awaited inspection. Slowly, the cheery yellow lull of the sudden normalacy in the Destinian Camp was soothing her into a sense of security. Her stride was graceful, but spunky; her sunblaze pelt tingled with satisfaction. All was right in the world....as it should be. Carolina joined the beta and alpha wtih some measure of disease. After Sothis went missing, she hadn't liked to venture out much. She stayed in the nursery longer with her pups than was necessary. She only hunted close to the camp, and she rarely let Tatiana and Etheris away from her sight for a long period of time unless it was for training purposes. Her hold on hre self-imposed hermitage was beginning to slip. The world outside, and the Hellfire invasion, were suddenly very real to her as she left the safety of her camp. "Maybe we should do these more often from now on," she murmured softly, breath forming a cloud around her words in the wintry air. Fireflight cast a sideways glance at her -- worry was her expression. Oh, what have I done? I know my happiness is silent in its grave, but I don't have to dampen everyone else's too!
