Trouble.
If you even try to look the other way, I think that I could kill this time. The silky appearance of the fog was the first thing to send warning sirens off in your mind. It meant that Joker has once more lost control of herself. She moved through the trees, their own shadows seeming to shrink in fear at the fae. She moved with deadly silence, claws digging into the ground as she moved. Her head was lowered slightly, upper lip pulled up to reveal wicked looking fangs. Traveling through out her body were a series of scars. One ran from the base of her tail the the middle of her back, and another was seen making it's jagged path down her shoulder. Then, on one side of her face was so scarred and ripped up you would have thought her to be something from the undead. But she wasn't. "Well, well. Look what we've got here. Stag." The wicked sounding lyrics lifted from her maw cruelly, and she slowly slunk down into an attack position. The wind was blowing toward her, so she didn't have to worry about the Stag catching a whiff of her. It was eating the leaves off of a bush quite content. She snarled, and it ripped through the air. She lunged...saw the rack of antlers come toward her... Then... Darkness. When she awoke, she was laying in a puddle of pool, and the stag was dead a few feet from her. She began to get up, but winced with the effort once she realized the dang thing had gorged her shoulder with an antler. She huffed slightly, and briefly remembered Icarus. Her shimmering white fur (where it wasn't covered in crimson) was ruffled slightly by the wind. Finally, she forced herself to get up, and go find water. She needed water. Once she got to a small pond, she dipped herself into it, wincing as the water cleaned out the wound. It wasn't bad. It could have been worse. With a satisfied sigh she turned, and clambered out of the pond, and collapsed on the bank. It'd been a few weeks since the last time she saw him. And she'd had nearly a dozen of those attacks since too.

A breeze stirred his fur, a refreshing shift in pace for the blistering summer heat. It was calmer now, later in the day than that particular encounter all those nights ago. A jovial jaunt carried him across the hills, mildly disappointed, but not allowing the previous absence to wear on his conscience. He didn’t show yet; not surprising but not the best outcome. Oh, well—I can’t be so obsessive. I wonder what happened to that lady I met way back when, though. I beginning to think that a follow-up visit is far overdue. Maybe today, after a catch a meal… A smile washed across his features, collected and optimistic as ever. …or maybe she’d like to catch one together, like last time. Then, all at once, he came to a gradual pause. Lifting his chin, he scented the wind, astonished at the scents he detected there. I can’t be this lucky…? But with the elation also came disturbance. Wait… blood? Picking up the trail, Icarus zigzagged through the forest obstacles, eventually slipping into a clearing. There, a felled stag lay in its own blood… as did a familiar face. “Joker!?” He rushed forward, standing over her collapsed figure. “Are you alright?”

She had closed her eyes by that time, but upon hearing her name her eyes shot open. She searched his familiar face, trying to pin it to a name. She thought of it as she said it at the same time. "Icarus?" She said weakly. It wasn't that she wounded...really. It was more of the after effect it had on her. She struggled to her feet to greet her long lost friend, as she would call him, and nodded her head feebly. "Yes, I am..alright. I think. What are you doing here? Not that...I'm not happy to see you...". Dots were splashing across her vision, and she couldn't see him straight either. Blood was oozing out of her wound, but it wasn't that much. She gave a sheepish grin, and said "I'm afraid I have no idea where I am..." Her columns were shaking under her weight, and she looked like she would collapse like a deck of cards.

As she struggled to a stand, his eyes darted to her wound, and concern blotted his gaze. A small, semi-humorous laugh exited his maw. “Well, you certainly aren’t in Kansas Yozoran territory anymore, that’s for sure.” He padded forward, sniffing the wound, and then supported her along her non-injured side. Pressing her flank against hers, he added, “But, if I may speak freely, you don’t look so good. Here, let’s get you somewhere more comfortable; one of those clover patches, maybe. You can lean on me.”

"It's not that bad...It was the blasted fog again..." She said, leaning against him as he insisted that they moved over to the clover patches. She didn't take this anywhere as good as Hellfire had when falling over the waterfall. She took the help when ever it was offered, actually. Once they finally got to the clover patch, she sank down, and said "Thank you...Icarus. Now, what do you suppose we do about the nasty looking wound?" She looked slightly better now that she was resting, her blue eyes sparkling slightly as she looked up at him. "I bet you think I'm pretty crazy, huh?"

No longer doubting the fog’s bizarre hold on his companion, Icarus led her to the relative comfort of the patch. As she settled herself, he chuckled a bit, and set about inspecting her wound. Sitting just behind her, he ran his nose over the wound, tracing it and examining it. “Well, you know, we all go a little crazy sometimes.” Another wink flashed across his vision. “However, I believe there’s an odd coincidence here. You are in need of a healer, and I happen to be very practiced in healing.” He grinned. “Pacifist powers prevail! I’ll be right back; don't go anywhere.” He stood, shaking himself, and then wandered elsewhere in the clearing in pursuit of herbs.

"Oh yeah! Yano...I'm just going to go wander down stream with my injured shoulder, Icarus!" She teased softly, laying her head down on her paws the best she could without tearing the wound any worst than it already was. She shifted slightly, and thought How did he happen upon me? I mean...he said he was going for the mountains, so did he come back or what? Or...how far away had she traveled from the pack? She didn't know. And that wasn't really a good thing either. No...it wasn't. Not at all.

Humming contentedly as he shifted about, Icarus nosed through the available flora that the clearing had to offer. He was pleasantly surprised by a familiar clump of tiny, bell-like flowers peering from amongst the grass. Leaning forward, he uprooted the potential herb, further delighted that the roots were in prime condition. Gathering several more, as well as any cobwebs and dried leaves he could horde together. Then, rising to his paws, Icarus wandered back to the fae. It’s not everything I would like, but it’s still a decent collection. Settling beside her, he dropped the ingredients at his paws and began to prepare the remedy. “Here we are; just give me minute,” he mumbled through the roots in his jaws. “In any case, you can’t remember what did that to you? Was it that stag over there?” He motioned with his eyes to the fallen creature.

She followed his motion with her eyes only, and nodded. "Of course it was that. I just don't know how I got here, why I'm here, or when I had initially become...some what insane. Not thinking. What ever you wanna call it. I woke up in a puddle of blood, and then went down to the pond to wash myself off. Then, shortly after, you showed up. Then, you helped me up and brought me over here, and you walked off to get the herbs. And now, I am sitting here giving you a report up to the last second." She grinned softly, her eyes watching him as he worked. She was just being cheeky. There was nothing wrong with that, was there? After all, it was a good sign that she was feeling well once again. Well...slightly.

He smirked. “Wonderful, now I am entirely up-to-date with all this. My sincere thank you.” Finally satisfied with the pulp of herbs, he moved forward to apply the mixture, only to pause. “Just to warn you, this may sting a little bit.” He then proceeded to spread the poultice along the wound, gently kneading the mixture along the injury with the tip of his snout. Then, he returned to the cobwebs, and began spreading them along the gash in much the same fashion, attempting to stop the flow of blood. “Well, at the very least, you shouldn’t get an infection, I’ll happily guarantee you,” he laughed. “It sounds like we’ll need to retrace your steps, though.”

She growled slightly, the wound stinging a bit like he had said it would. "What do you mean..retrace my steps?" She said, slightly confused as she staggered to her feet, having to place her maw on his shoulder to keep from falling over. She smiled slightly, staggering backwards, and coughing slightly, before licking some of the blood of the fur of her chest idly as if she hadn't just done that. She cleared her throat, and said "So, what do you mean retrace my steps, dearest buddy of mine." She smirked gently, wincing slightly, ever so slightly as another wave of pain shot through her. She would be just fine though. She waited for him to explain himself, or lead the way. Or something.

He watched her, partially submerged in a bout of anxiety, and yet partially amused by her efforts. Allowing her to depend on him as a crutch, he ghosted to her side like a faithful safety net. Smiling, he nodded toward the way her had come. “You know, retrace your steps—like how I left a scent trail behind me. Maybe we can find a scent trail from where you’ve been recently, and try to figure this out. Or, you know,” he gesticulated toward the crimson stains that dotted the soil, “we could just follow the blood.” Tilting his head at her, his eyes softened slightly. “Unless, of course, you want to do something else? Like rest, perhaps?” Somehow, I’m not sure she’s in the best condition for a tour today.

She shot him a look, and said "I am just fine, Icarus. As long as we don't go climbing any where or anything like that. As long as were on inventively flat ground I'm pretty sure I will be okay. You forget how stubborn I can be?" She said, a grin gracing her features before she stepped forward, nose pressed close to the ground as she sniffed. "Yep. I was this way. I can tell not only by the scent, but also by the blood, and," She said, turning her head to gesture in the way of the mountain. "I think I came from there. I'm not entirely sure, it's just a hunch though." She smiled gently, before taking a few cautious steps forward again. She wasn't entirely sure what triggered her so called spasms. It had to be something though.

“Who said anything about you? I happen to be very sleepy myself.” He forced a yawn, grinning as he did so. “But if you insist, I’ll accompany you.” Tracing her footfalls, Icarus perked his ears and rank in the information that Joker relayed. A brief inspection affirmed her suspicions, and he nodded in the mountain’s direction. “Alrighty then, we’ll head of there. And, hopefully, we won’t have to climb any cliffs while we’re at it.” He began to assume a semi-lead—which wasn’t hard, considering her wounds—but remained near enough to come to her aid. “Maybe we’ll find something interesting while we’re there.”

She chuckled gently, and said "You are also the one that is not wounded by her own stupidity." She pointed out, glancing toward him, and then looking to the green canvas roof. She chuckled gently, her pace at a fast walk, but she refused to go any fast than that. She scanned the area, and then looked to him once more. "What could we possibly find that is even remotely interesting? Besides my blood, and the blood of the stag all over the place." She added, grinning gently. She stepped forward once more, a gentle look on her face as she looked around once more. A solemn look crossed her face for a moment, before she glanced toward him once more. "Are you going to make it without a nap, Icarus?" She teased.
