She was going to try and keep this light-hearted, but it was going to be hard. With a smile --a cheesy one at that, but all the same a smile-- she said "Well...I think the mist is sextist. Honestly, it doesn't want me getting close to any brute. It only happens when my heart starts racing though...so I suppose it has to do with brutes I--" She blushed slightly, and shook her head to clear her thoughts. "Anyways...it happens only to certain brutes." She muttered, and turned her gaze away from him, and looked into the distance.

A lighthearted explanation graced his ever-alert ears, and, to be perfectly honest… he was quite split on the issue. “…’certain’, you say…” The loud and annoying kind or the devilishly attractive kind? But I digress. “That’s, uh…” Ain’t that wonderful. I meet a nice girl with a good sense o’ humor, and what happens? She has a mutated power that is not only evil, but bigoted. Now how do you like that? Dragging his skull from the clouds, he managed to restrain his delight. All the same, this isn’t all that funny. This is… unfair, to say the least. “…new. Flattering as that is, Miss Joker, it’s also… problematic? I mean, I like you, Joker. But…” Is it safer to just go away? He mentally scolded himself for the mere thought. “…alright, let’s see here. How does it set off? I mean, we’ve been walking together for a while now, so it has to be only at certain times. I can keep this distance with you and be okay, can’t I? How close can I get before the fog arrives?” He took a few steps closer, swishing his tail to one side.

She was staring at him for a few moments as if she knew what he was thinking, and snorted gently. She turned her gaze away from his, and said "I suppose it's Physical contact...I think. I don't know. I don't even know where it came from. I dont' know my past, I don't know who my parents were. I don't know where I'm orginally from. I don't...fit in." She sighed gently, and looked down once more. I'm a...a...monster. She thought, but scolded herself quickly. I mustn't think like that. There has to be a remedy to this..this...thing that seemed to happen to me when ever I'm around Icarus. What do I do? Just stay away from him? She shot him a curious look, wondering if that is indeed what she must do. With another sigh, she began to talk again "All I know is if I get my heart beating fast enough, it takes over." This was problematic, and she was trying to figure out a way to fix it, but the only thought that was running through her mind was: I'm a monster.

Well, I’m certainly not going to let her roll over, and neither should she. Maybe this can be fixed, or broken, or contained somehow—there’s always a way, right? Nothing’s forever. We can change things. “Well, then, we just have to train you to keep your cool—and I know it’s hard to still your beating heart in my presence, but please, do try.” He grinned playfully, chuckling. “But in all seriousness, seeing as we don’t know where you came from or why you have these urges… well, what can we do but try to fix it? Here, let’s see…” He sat beside her, brushing his flank against her own, and smiled. “Wanna kill me yet?”

She arched an eyebrow as she watched he slowly inch his way toward her. With a chuckle, she shook her head. "You can control how fast your heart beats? Well, then, I'm pretty sure you must teach me this...trick. Because I am not as talented as you yourself are." She chuckled softly, and looked into the distance for a moment until she felt flank on flank contact. She jumped slightly, the hairs on her dorsal spine sticking up for a moment. She looked to him, and shook her head. "Nope, not yet." She answered, shrugging gently. Not yet was the key word, though." She thought, and then scolded herself once more. Why must she be so negative?!

Warmth spread between their bodies, and Icarus drank up every solitary movement. It was a nice sensation—a tad unethical, maybe, but still nice. What d’ya know—when I woke up this morning, I thought about getting some breakfast, maybe going for a swim… not I have to cuddle with some beautiful lady for the sake of experiment. Life sure unwinds in mysterious ways… and I’m not complaining. That said, now what? “Well, I tend to be a pretty calm guy. You can train yourself to control your pulse—well, to an extent, anyway. It’s not a fix, but a help, and that’s a start.” He slowly rested his head on her shoulder, whiskers brushing her ear. “Comfy?” he chimed. “How ‘bout now?”

Joker sucked in her breath, and nodded her head up and down in a response to his question. She was concertrating pretty hard about what she did right now, only because she didn't wanna end up killing him. She wouldn't lose anymore of her life to this...thing that intended to rob her of her life. With a chuckle, she answered "Yes, I am just fine, actually." To prove her point, she even allowed herself to lean into him just a tad; feeling the warmth of his body slowly envelope over her whole form. It was a weird sensation, really. At lease she wasn't rearing to attack him just yet though. She could feel herself still firmly in control. That was a good thing. wasn't it?

“Excellent,” he purred, seemingly considering arching his spine like a regular housecat and relaxing in the heat of the moment. It was oddly comfortable, despite the fact that they were essentially prodding the hibernating bear with a sharp stick. Well, so far, so good, m’dear. Then, as fate would have it, a little thought trickled into his brain. The two of them, snuggled so tightly together, had roused an idea that was borderline sweet and entirely idiotic. Whatever the case, it proved too hard to ignore. “In that case…” He reached out, a tender lick caressing her muzzle before he drew back to his original position.

She wasn't the lease disturbed by this like you think she oughta be --just because of the fact that the 'bear' as it were--, in side of her was sleeping didn't mean that they were out of the woods yet. No, it meant something entirely different. She could feel something shifting inside of her, and with growing terror she began to realize that it was the demon that posessed her. No! Shoo! Go away! Go back to sleep, go jump off a cliff, go back from where you came from, just don't do this now! She thought, yet it payed no heed to her as it began to pace back and forth in it's bondage, looking for a weak link in the chain to burst out. No. You aren't coming out. She said, determined. She looked to Icarus, and knew that they were playing with fire now, but she was determined pass a reason of doubt that she wasn't going to attack Icarus. No matter how much the 'bear' roared, and clawed. She reached around, turning her crown and tenderly lickinig his maw the same she he had done with her. She drew back, and smiled slightly. "Everythings still fine." She whispered. Ha! There. How do you like that, you stupid beast! She thought, but she musn't let her guard down for long. It was lurking.

Suspenseful seconds ticked past, inching in slow-motion to the beating of his chest. Somewhere in the depths of his torso, a tension strung out across his heart, and his breath cut short while awaiting a reply. To his surprise, the response was far more pleasant than he had calculated—a warm touch along his maw, and a soft assurance that everything would be fine. He raised a brow, pleased—both at keeping his skin intact and at receiving a loving kiss. Huh… what d’ya know; she’s pretty strong. But what next? “Isn’t that a thing of beauty? Well, we could test this further, and become spontaneously perverted… but I am a gentleman, and that would be a rather crude turn, wouldn’t you say?” He winked. “Although, I am comfortable where I am… heh, you’re an interesting one, you know that?”

She arched an eyebrow as he stated they could become rather perverted, and a chuckle slipped from between her velveteen maw. A shake of her crown, and a smile was spread across her maw. Beautiful, unique. Real. She lay her head on his chest for a few moments, and then drew back to gaze at him again. "I do hope that that's a good compliment. Now, when you say perverted, it does make me curious in what you had meant." A sparkle was seen in her eyes; one that suggested that she was teasing, but her tone was next to full on seriousness. She could be difficult at times, yeah. But that's what made her who she was.

“A good compliment? My dear, that is the highest honor I can possibly bestow.” He exhaled quietly, a soft whistle of breath exiting his nostrils. Joker’s skull brushed his chest, and nestled comfortably against it. In reflex, a pleasant smile lighted his features until she withdrew her touch. “Hmm?” He looked down, a sort of mischievous force arching his brow. “M’dear, I think you know exactly what I mean. Serenading in the moonlight, a private den, you and me—making amour?” He lifted his face with a grin. “But pardon my thoughts, mademoiselle. I’m but a rapscallion with a soiled mind.” He bowed his head, as if in a formal apology. “…even if you are rather cute.”

She giggled, and shook her head once again. Den, Moonlight, making amour? It all sounded quite tempting. She was still sitting next to him, but had withdrew to a point where she could arch an eyebrow, and he would see her skeptical look. With a chuckle, she said "Tsk, tsk. Moonlight? A den? Making," she cleared her throat to put a strain on the word, "Amour? All lovely ideas, my dear fellow," Now, a mischievous grin was curving along her maw. She shifted; this time away, and backed away. She lifted her crown, and parted her maw to finish speaking. "But, to make things more interesting, let's play a game of cat and mouse, shall we?" She backed up a few more steps, and glanced over him. She looked him up and down, and smirked softly. That glint was still in her eyes, only it was more pronounced. She turned then, and began to trot away, tail waving back and forth behind her.

Mildly surprised, but not at all disappointed, his curious suggestions seemed to have met their mark. Well, seemed, anyway—you could never really tell with someone like her. “Lovely ideas indeed,” he assured her, verdant gaze pursuing her playful posture. Only too happy to oblige, Icarus soared to a stand, loping in a semi-casual pursuit after the femme. “Oh, you do tempt, don’t you—I have a weakness for games. Now, let’s see—any particular rules you want to go over?”

She tilted her head to the side, and hesitated in her step for a few moments. The remark caused her to glance over her shoulder for a few moments, and a slow smirk slowly began to form across her face. She could make this interesting, quickly; and more so, fast. Yet, is that what she wanted? To give in to it that easily? The beast--as it were-- was not fighting back. In fact, it seemed as though she had gained control over her thoughts, and actions for the time being. That there made her want to soar high above. "Now, now, what fun would rules be? How about this: The rules are," She paused as she let it sink in; her words coming to an abrupt halt before speaking once again. "There are no rules." With this statement said, she picked up her pace to a lope; a lazy one, but quick all the same. He could do what he wanted. Yet, she would do everything in her power to avoid it. It was a battle of wills, wouldn't you say?
