Cowering together in a tiny, fluffy bundle at the heart of the mostly empty Sheeran nursery, the pups grieved in soft, keening whimpers. Ashlyn and Everett were confounded with grief. Their beloved mother was gone; there was no mistaking it. No trace of her had been left after she set off into the woods to fetch water for the sickly Missing. They could fathom her disappearence without evidence; they knew, as such young children always know, that Mother was far, far away now. Yet, through all of this, they could not begin to understand how incredibly lucky they were. Lonely though it was, they were not cold or starving as summer's heat was still blazing around them and they'd learned to like the juicy, mouthwatering flesh of the prey-creatures. Still, brother and sister clung to each other, whining miserably for Winter to come back.

Luna looked at her two best friends with a woried look in her golden eyes. She got up and walked to them. She looked at Ashlyn and Everett. She layed down in front of them and looked at them with soft eyes. The pup was worried for her two best friends.
