(ok,this is my first rpg EVER,so please bear with me!) It was a warm, vibrant morning, and the scene was beautiful. Sunlight shafted down through the trees, lighting up the forest floor with soft golden light, while songbirds flitted through the dense vegetation. Rowan and birch trees swayed in the cool breeze, rustling their branches. The forest was awake and alive, but Kavik failed to notice any of it as he walked along a twisting, winding path through the undergrowth. "Why," he thought to himself, "Why do I always feel this way?". He had been feeling distracted for days now,and after he arose this morning in the Siverian camp after a long, sleepless night,he'd decided to take a walk to try and clear his head. But it didn't seem to be helping much. He just didn't understand. After being alone for so long,he had finally found a home with the Siverians,a place to belong. He should be content right now, happy even. But he wasn't. Rather,he felt restless and unsettled,as if his mind that was so accustomed to being a loner, hated being dragged down by pack duties. Suddenly, something occured to him. Maybe he felt this way because of his father. This possibility only confused him more. That couldn't be it,...or could it? When he was just a pup, Kavik's entire family was killed by a forest fire created by humans to exterminate them. And although he found the bodies of his mother and brother,he never did find his father,Oslak's body among the wrekage. This gave Kavik a far fetched idea that he was still alive somewhere, and when he became a loner,he focused on only two things. Survival and finding his father. But when the Siverians had generously accepted him into their pack, his search ended abrubtly, and for awhile,he didn't think about his past. But now things were different. Was it really possible that these strange feelings were triggered by the urge to resume his search? He had absolutley no idea. Sometimes he felt so lost and alone in this world. Even though he just recently became a warrior,he is not yet considered an adult. For crying out loud,he was pretty much still a kid. He was just a lonely kid who was hurt and confused in this big empty world. He just wished someone could understand what he was going through, someone to understand his pain and heartache, someone to feel what he felt. Someone,...anyone,...suddenly,the crack of a twig interrupted Kavik's thoughts, and he instantly whirled around to face the creator of the sound, with ears and tail erect, gleaming white fangs bared.

( Don't worry, it was very well-written ) Honey-colored sunshine splattered the forest floor in irregular, shifting patterns of warmth. The young girl strode alone in through the Pinewood, which was, perhaps, the largest expanse of uninterrupted woodland that was held within Sivieran borders. Her eyes were tired and considerably swollen as they shifted solemnly over the shifting patches of sunlight. One time, a very, very long time ago, it would seem, she had dreamed of the rolling hills and thick forests of the Siverian territory. She'd been only a pup then -- a newborn fantasizing at her mother's side, with her brothers and sisters all around her. And then, one night, she'd gotten brave enough to dare her siblings to take that ride, that adventure with her. And then, that night, Mother and Corsivo had died. They'd gotten caught. Maybe not because of her....but maybe because of her, too. Kaylee wasn't a youngling anymore. She was a neophyte, but no longer a child. She should be young and blossoming into adulthood, but instead it seemed as if she'd been jerked roughly into the role and now resented it thoroughly. Still, in all her solemnity, she was somehow beautiful. Her pelt was a deep midnight black, the only exceptions being a bright flash of silver on her face and a light spray of moondust on the tips of her hairs. There was a tiredness in her gray eyes that would fit an old cynic better than a young lady. She'd tried to bear the pain that came with the loss of her mother and brother, but it had overcome even her, the most vivacious of lively of her litter. Her head jerked up as she heard a movement just up ahead. There was a rustle in the bracken. She looked down and lifted a paw, frowning at the snapped twig she uncovered. Well, have to be more careful I guess. Not like I was sneaking up on anyone anyway but.... She let the thought trail off. 'Alone' was how she preferred to be, but for now, she would grit her teeth and bear whatever company she encountered. She padded out from the undergrowth, blinking in mild recognition. "Hello, Kavik," she murmured uncertainly. He was new to the pack, she recalled. They'd never been introduced before, but she'd seen him around. She opened her mouth, and then closed it again. A long time ago...maybe she'd of asked him right off the bat what loner life was like. Now, no other words came to her lips.

(Thanks, yours was amazing! Kavik was completley surprised at the beautiful female standing before him. He wasn't completley sure what he'd been expecting when he whirled around; maybe a bear, or an old enemy, but certainly not a fellow pack member. He'd thought that he had left early enough so that no one else would be awake, but apparently not. He had only seen this female from afar once before, and he racked his brain for a name, but nothing came. So he just stuck with a tense " Hello, who are you?" Only after he said it did he realize the sharpness of his tone, and he forced himself to relax. Afterall, there was no reason for him to be hostile to a wolf he didn't even know. But he had to admit, he was slightly embarrassed. She had caught him off guard in his moment of vulnerability, and it bothered him. So he quickly stuffed his built up emotions down, and even though he had wiped all signs of aggression from his face, he hardened his golden eyes into a cold, stubborn stare to mask what he felt. He thought he had recovered quick enough from his exposure, and he hoped the female hadn't seen anything, but he wasn't so sure. Those soft, intelligent gray eyes looked as if they could see right through him; past all his walls and defenses. But for just a brief moment, he thought he saw something else flash in those eyes. It was fast; he almost missed it. But it was unmistakable: guilt. And then, just as fast as it had appeared, it disappeared, and she resumed her intense stare. But he was absolutley sure he had seen it, and it left him wondering, "Are we going through the same pain?"

(quick question: did Kavik actually say that last part or no? The way it was written it might've been in his head, but idk cause it's in quotations? It might affect the way should we respond so I'll just wait for you to answer my question and then I'll post )

( Oh it's no problem! I just didn't want to assume and write my reply and have you go "whaaat?" xD )
Kaylee's eyes narrowed by a scarcely visible amount. Her hairs along the back of her neck stood on end as he felt him watching her. At first, a flare of resentment flashed through her eyes. The creep! What did he think he was doing, standing there, analyzing her with his eyes? But the flash wa sbrief and died quickly; there was a great sadness that seemed to hang over this wolf like a single dark gray storm cloud on an otherwise bright summer day.
Unfortunately, it didn't cross her mind that her guard had been down when she'd stumbled upon this wolf, a relative stranger. All of her emotions had been on display in her own pair of stormy gray clouds. She shrugged her shoulds and cleared her throat, forcing herself to be cordial despite the tell-tale tenseness in the other wolf's voice. Well, this is a strange first impression, isn't it?
"I'm Kaylee," she barked briskly. "And you're Kavik, right? You used to be a loner, but you joined the pack a little while ago."

"Yep, that's me," Kavik replied a little more relaxed. "I guess the entire pack knows who I am,huh Kaylee?" It was hard for him to do it,but he smiled. He wasn't sure about this wolf, but maybe for once he could at least try to get to know someone. She seemed nice enough. Although, there was something about her that he couldn't quite understand. It wasn't obvious in any way, but if you looked closely, she seemed tired and worn down; almost as if she'd been fighting a losing battle inside of her for a long time. And even though she appeared quite young, perhaps around his age even, she had an air of maturity that seemed unnatural. But she was strong; any wolf could sense that. It was in the way she held herself, and in the way she spoke. She seemed quite capable. But remembering that pain he saw in her eyes before, made him question just how long that strength would last.
Kavik had his own painful burden to carry, but maybe he could somehow help Kaylee. Afterall, he had always been good at putting a smile on other's faces and making them laugh. It was just going to be alot harder now that he could barely laugh himself and that it was a struggle to even get up in the morning. Yet,in the back of his mind, the same question kept asking, "Why should I help her?" He didn't owe her anything, he could just walk away right now by himself to worry about his own problems, and that would be the end of it. "But no, that's what I've always done," he thought bitterly to himself. "My whole life all I've ever done was face this world by myself, pretending that I had all the answers, and didn't need anybody's help when really, I was wrong." Everybody needs somebody at least once in their lives. Somebody to help pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and put them back together again. And Kavik had made up his mind that he would be that somebody.

Discomfort persisted; there was a strange, even bizarre tension about the conversation that wasn't natural. Uncannily, it seemed that as they both watched each other with calculating eyes, they were actually seeing through each other. But there was little that Kaylee had seen thus far that was decipherable. Despite the oddity of the moment, this wolf was still a mystery to her. She shrugged her shoulders, trying to shake the feeling off. It's probably just cause he was a loner.
She smiled briskly, though it was a rather emotionless smile. "Yes, well, I guess we have a gossip or two in our ranks. How is pack life treating you? I imagine it's quite different from being a roamer." Kaylee couldn't put her paw on this wolf, yet was somehow intrigued nevertheless. Slowly, she sat and curled her tail over her paws. I don't know about him but....I guess somebody's gotta do something to make it un-awkward.
