For a moment, Fireflight felt herself unable to remove her eyes from the unsettling upset on the den floor. And then, she wrinkled her nose and took another tentative step backwards. "Well,...I suppose it happens to the best of us. Except you weren't at a party--" Fireflight flushed crimson beneath her fur and stopped herself short. She chuckled in embarressment, "Well, then, this'll just be our little secret. Nobody'll have to know about this part. We'll have to sweep up as much as we can with leaves...and then...how about I have Carolina come in and keep you company? You're right -- the talk must come with time. And right now, you need your rest." Wincing in disgust, Fireflight took a large leaf from a bush just outside the den and began the cleaning-up process. She flashed a look up at Euphrates that said you'd better help me with this.

BurnNote felt bad as she watched her alpha clean up her vomit. This should not be a task that she has to do for her. Even though she was a member of this pack, she was no one special. At lease, that's the way she saw it as. Guilt began to slowly rise as she thought about how thks all cane to being. It was her fault she imagined it that this all escalated into something more it should have been. With a heavy heart she looked away, and stared down at the sod for a few moments. Even though she knew she had agreed to drop the subject until she was well, she found that one thing bothered her the most. "This isn't the end, is it? I can feel it coming...." she muttered, but fell silent a few seconds later. She cleary knew where her place fell here.

Fireflight froze in place. There were a number of ways to respond to Burn's question, or rather, musings read aloud. In truth, she feared Burn did not understand the ideas behind the words she had spoken. It is the end because Babylonia wants it to be and will make it the end. It is the end of my family's safety for the rest of eternity until the day we pass into the Twilight realm. For that reason, it is the end of any safety we may gain for the pack, no matter how many battles we win -- they'll always come back searching for vengeance. It is the beginning of the end. Blood Mist will stop at nothing to destroy us now. And once they take me, or the pups, or Euphrates....they'll take down the rest of the pack, too, and they'll kill whoever stands in their way. It is the perfect revenge against Babylonia's former pack. She'll stop at nothing. We'll have to start counteracting the trauma that is to come now, or we'll be wiped out. In short, we're going to die and it's impossible to do anything about it. It is the beginning of our fight to survive. No matter what is against, be it divinities, elements, earth, nature, or the raging fires of hell, it will never, ever be the end of our fight for survival. But, of course, they had agreed not to talk of those things. "Burn, please tell me you don't mean that -- I really couldn't stand it if you puked again. If you really must, can we help you outside before you splurge?"

Judging it would be safer to just stop thinking altogether, Euphrates sank his skull to the earth, jaws seeping seamlessly into the flesh of a rabbit. The taste tickled pleasantly under his tongue, perking his hunger, but he dismissed the thoughts. Burn Note needed it far more. With robotic accuracy, he retraced his path back to the den, entering with a creased muzzle at the stench. For a moment, he had been blessed for forgetting what it smelled like. With the softest of grunts, Euphrates emptied his muzzle, placing the meal directly at Burn’s paws. He glanced up at Fireflight, raising a brow. “Did I just hear something about being sick again? Should I evacuate the rabbit?” In the moment that followed, he gazed at Burn, a militia of questions racing through his brain, but none appropriate for the current line of conversation. And, as always, he began to revert to his racing state of mind. Wonder if she saw Sumer…
