"No...no, I can't go any farther...I have to stop. Regulus, we need to stop." The silver-blue femme, carrying a large bulge in her womb, stumbled alongside of a dark colored brute. He tried, in vain, to support her exhausted, half-starved frame, but the sharp incline was too much for her; she fell to the groung, her fall softened as he rushed forward and caught her. Slowly, he eased her to the frozen terra and eyed her with mounting anxiety. The hour was dusk; the towering mountains loomed over them, silhouetted against the bloody sunrise. For the entire night, they'd stumbled frantically through the bowels of Blood Mist territory. Luckily for Annelise, her body was stubborn on survival. Normally, she might've been able to walk around on her own, despite the fact that she was lacking a limb. In her half-starved state, so treacherously near her birthing time, Regulus had barely been able to keep her upright. Somehow, against all odds, no one had thought to come after them. They'd all headed to the north for BurnNote. By the time anyone had thought to look for him, the wolf who was meant to be watching her, Regulus and Annelise were far away in the opposite direction. As the bearer caught her breath, Regulus surveyed their frost-kissed surroundings. BurnNote... What had happened, there in the den? It felt like fire, but fire of a different kind; a brand of fire he knew almost nothing of, but was enchanted by. She'd better be alive still. If they did anything to her... But right now, he had to do all he could for her friend. They were dangrously out in the cold, windy open -- she or the pups could easily die here if they didn't find better shelter. His eyes landed on a great swelling of boulders nearby. Maybe there's a cave. "There's a cavern nearby, I think," he told her. "We have to get inside." Miraculously, she pushed herself to her paws, eyes charged with determination. "That's it -- not too far now. We can stop once we get to the cave." Precariously, they hobbled along towards her only hope of living. I only hope somebody's not already in there.

Yet, while every one else had joined in the chase for BurnNote, Hellfire had seen something that every one else had missed. He saw Regulus take off toward the den that that fae was held, and watched as he helped her escape. Well, well. Do we have a traitor among our packs? He thought, gold orbs narrowing on Regulus. Well, I knew there were traitors, but I never thought you would turn against us. What the hell did my sister do to you? Did she brainwash you? He thought, and suddenly he had an idea. His front columns reached out, and pulled him after the retreating forms. He was quiet, sticking to the shadows where his sooty black fur would suit him the best. He had tracked them all the way here, and was now glaring at the duo. Well, It's too late to do anything about it now. He thought, and fell silent as he thought about what he should do. Turn him in, and let him die for treachery, or kill him myself? Hellfire was truly a twisted wolf.

"Regulus....Regulus I need to stop now!" A high, keening note of distress escaped the female's maw. "We need to stop! The pups are coming! My pups are coming now!" The healer's legs went limp and useless; they no longer could do anything to aid in holding her up from the cold, frosted morning earth. Regulus grunted a took up her weight, heartbeat racing as he nearly dropped her. Luckily, they had reached the promised sanctuary. Annelise dropped to the cave floor, panting heavily and moaning as pain contracted through her emaciated bodice. Regulus stepped back, pelt bristling with fear. He'd never actually been present for a birthing before -- not even the birthing of his own daughter. He'd helped an ailing fae to a healer or a nursery, but never had he been in a situation like this one. He was the only wolf who could help her, but he didn't know what to do. He winced as her fragile frame shook with tremors. If she survives this.....she has to. She has to survive. At the very least, they had this shelter. They had that; it was at least some degree of warmth and protection against whatever elements would rage at them here. It was autumn now in the valley territories, but here, so very close to the mountains, the weather had a fiercer edge to it. Flickers of his last conversation with BurnNote came back to him. He'd thought himself helpless, unable to do anything but watch her run away, and yet he'd found a way to help her by helping her friend. He didn't know much about the birthing process, but that didn't mean he couldn't help. I have to do something for her... "Just breathe -- you have to focus on breathing." Frantically, he wracked his brain for some ounce of assurance he could give her. "We've found this cave -- they won't die of cold. Later, we can move you farther back in the den and I can catch a rabbit nearby. Nobody saw us, Annelise. They can't get at us now. They don't even know we're here." Or did they?

He arched an eyebrow, and decided What the hell? What did he care that she was giving birth or anything. Besides, Hellfire was a true Blood Misty. He didn't know what the hell BurnNote told Regulus, but Regulus was now a traitor on his eyes. "I wouldn't be so sure about that, Regulus."[/i] Came the voice that sounded from behind the duo. He seemed utterly pleased with himself in a sickening way. He tilted his head to the side, and said "So, how did my fool of a sister trick you into betraying us, Regulus? Or, was it that you just decided to get yourself killed? I actually thought you were pretty decent guy. But now, sadly, I'm going to have to do something about this."[/i] He looked toward the healer, but said nothing to her. After all, she was giving birth. Now, a even more devious thought came into mind. "BurnNote's dead, anyways. She was caught, and killed. She fought back, but...well. Thanks to you, she couldn't fight them off. At lease, that's the word on the street."[/i] He shrugged as if he didn't care, yet his words held truth to it. He had perfected the art of lying, and now it was as though BurnNote was actually dead. Gone. Finished.
--Aha. Wouldn't that be a sight? He believes BurnNote is dead, but they cross paths later on. xP

"You." Defiance boiled in his blood. He was enraged, on fire like he'd never been before. Memories flashed through his brain, of how angry he'd gotten with BurnNote from time to time, of how angry she'd been ay him. His heart quavered when the brute spoke of her, but his features showed no change. He was a statue of fury. More than that -- he was the god of anger. All those years of burning, and years of mass murder before had sculpted him into a vessel of power. He was, after all, immortal. So engulfed with fiery rage was he, that he trembled in his bones and his fangs glinted with malice. Yet, somehow, the tell-tale smirk appeared on his maw. Be strong for her, for BurnNote. She'd want you to be. "You know, Hellfire, I admired you once. You're remarkably strong, you know what you want, you know how to get it...but..." He paused, moving to stand between Hellfire and Annelise, who was entering hysterics and a frightning rate. "But. You are a complete dumbass." Like a strike of black lightning, Regulus launched himself at Hellfire's side and thrust his fangs towards flesh.

Hellfire snarled, but it was too late. He couldn't move in time. Both went tumbling away from the hysterical fae, and toward the edge of the mountain. With a laugh he was to his feet again, blood streaking down his side. "Me? The dumbass? Wow. You must have knocked your head on something. Tell me something: What the fuck drove you to betraying a pack again, Eh? Besides, I don't want your admiration. Not from a traitor, any how."[/i] His gold eyes seemed to laugh as he circled the brute, audits pinned flat against his skull. The one thing that was running through his mind right now was: You are a traitor. "Now, the Regulus. Make haste, and stay still so this won't hurt. The sooner I'm done with you the sooner I can kill her, and take the pups back."[/i] Oh no, Hellfire was just pushing buttons. A flash of white ivories was seen, and the brute was hurling his bulky frame at the other wolf, a snarl of pure blood lust being heard as it ripped through the thin curtain of atmosphere. His jowls were aiming to snap on the nape of Regulus's neck, and never let go; but if that didn't work he could at lease still stun him with the sudden thrust of his body being thrown against Regulus's. Traitors always die.

Hot tears leaked down the cheeks of the withering femme. The pains were coming sharper now, and biting with a rejuvinated ferocity that seemed to tear apart her inside. She let out a strangled cry as pressure mounted, and then suddenly, she was blessed with a short, panging reprieve from the seering agony. Annelise's first child was born into the world. He was a tiny infant, eyes closed and covered in slime. His peltage, at first glance, seemed to directly resemble Annelise's silver-blue, but his dark underbelly suggested a base coat of rich ebony. Slowly, instinctively, the child began to crawl towards the sense of warmth that radiated from a source nearby. Blindly, he settled by his mother. Before the great wave of pain, mounting fast, could capture her again, Annelise whispered his name, "Aubrey."
Fangs suddenly latched into Regulus's neck. Now it was Regulus' turn to laugh. Chuckling deeply amongst vicious snarls, he slammed Hellfire against the side of the cave to break his hold. "You think I'm the traitor? How do you think your dearest Assyria and Babylonia will react when they learn the wolf they stole to perform an act of vengeance was killed by someone else? Understand this, Hellfire: you can't touch her or the pups if you want to show your face around Blood Mist. The Royalty has claims on their blood." Regulus took up a defensive stance to take in the reaction of his adversary. "If you kill her, they'll hunt you. You'll be the traitor they really remember."
(My friend read the most of this post out loud to me as I was typing it. She made it seem perverted xP OH! And what do you want your pup to look like/what're his/her name? Annelise is silver blue, and the dad, Shade, is a black/dark colored)

Hellfire noticed the miscalculation in his words, but he just shrugged it off. "You are clever, Regulus, I'll give you that. Since you've put it that way, I will take her back the way she came, without as much as harming a hair on her body."[/i] Oh, how he smoothed things over easily. It was wasn't right. With a grunt he dropped to the ground when he was slammed against the wall. With a chuckle, he slowly circled Regulus, his cruel mind realing. "Or perhaps I could take you both back, eh? You hardly alive, and her well, and the pups in good health as well. What then, Regulus? I don't think I will be the traitor? Listen to you: Here you are, falling for my sister? Who couldn't even run away right. I'm suprised you didn't kill her when you had the chance,"[/i] With a chuckle he lunged forward, but not to sink his fangs into Regulus, no. He had more of a aim to back him to the ledge of the cliff. "So, enlighten me. Why did you let her go?"[/i] Mockery was thick in his tone, as was amusment.
--Hm...It's going to be a he. I think he should be russet, and his name...Everette. He'll be the weird color out of the bunch.

((Sure -- he'll have the recessive genes There actually already is an Everett in the Sheeran Pack. If you're super stuck on that name, I guess it'd be fine, but I'd advise altering/choosing a different one cause that can be kinda confusing sometimes =/ Sorry! )) As they took turns taunting each other, Regulus watched Hellfire's feet for the first hint at movement. He knew the game of cat and mouse well; right now, the cat and the mouse could be either of them, really. All of it depended on who could play the game and outwit their opponent. So, only half-listening to Hellfire's fresh jibe, he was ready when the brute thrust suddenly forward; he stepped neatly to the side that was closest to the den -- a protective stance. However, Hellfire's words had managed to irk him. This generation is going to drive me insane...kids these days!"I assure you, good fellow, you are an idiot," he barked dryly. "You want proof? Example A: You've assumed that you can beat a wolf who is not only immortal, but lacking any loyalties or boundaries whatsoever. Furthermore, this wolf has lived and fought and trained for perhaps three times your lifespan. Your ego makes you think you're invincible, though you are most definitely not. Example B: Your game of 'fetch' for Babylonia in exchange for a treat or whatever praise she gives you reflects, despite your bravado, an insecure and flimsy core. Example C: Using your mind and what I am freely telling you now, you should be able to come to the conclusion that I am a wolf of my own contest and own interests. I was bored of Blood Mist and wanted the thrill of a chase. Perhaps, if you owned proper intelligence, you would've drawn such desgins as these, but, alas, you have not."

--Ohhh pooie. How about Eli?
"Ahhh...then if you really are an old man, then you have no business with my sister?"[/i] Obviously, he was only half listening, yet he stopped, and eyed him up and down. "You may have been training longer than I have, but I haven't died, Regulus. I didn't burn in hell for years upon years, and suddenly come up from the dead like a lilly popping up from the ground!"[/i] His voice was taunting still, and he rolled his eyes, but didn't attack again. He didn't like playing this game of cat and mouse, but Regulus had started it, had he not? He wasn't showing any hostility when he first appeared. "Just for the thrill? You amuse me, Regulus. You would have not thought of doing such a thing had BurnNote not gotten here. In fact, you were intent on leaving her there to rot. That is until you started to lack in your job. Started to talk to you...Man, she messed with your head."[/i] He laughed softly, shaking his head as he sat back on his haunches. Regulus was no longer a threat to him. No, not after that display of short temper. "You wanna know what I think? I think that she brain-washed you into thinking that these designs are the right way. But what does it matter? What the hell do you have now, Regulus. Your family is dead, BurnNote is dead, and your a traitor. If I don't take you in now, they will come and find you one of these days. Losing all the respect...All for what? Oh...that's right. A fae that you let get to your head. Pathetic."[/i] He spat, audits pinning back as he spat the word. Both were wounded, so it didn't seem to make very much sense to attack again, no. Besides, it was Regulus's move. Hellfire wasn't stupid, oh no. He just saw things from the Blood Mist point of veiw. His sister hadn't gotten to him.

For a moment, Regulus just stared at him with jeering eyes, daring him to make another move. Blood still trickled slowly from the wound in his neck, but fire had flooded his blood with adrenaline. He still stood protectively in front of Annelise's den, unaware that the mother was already giving birth, but vigilant in her protection just the same. And then, the smug smirk blossomed into a wide grin and booming laughter as Hellfire spoke. "A flower, huh? A lilly, you say? You think I'm a lilly? Well, at least you get credit for noting my rather magical aura." He snorted, muscles rippling as he rolled back his shoulders -- a display meant to make Hellfire understand that he wasn't letting up the fight if Hellfire sprang at him now. "Oh, Hellfire -- everythings right in front of you, but you still fail to see! If BurnNote did anything for me at all, she simply made me realized how dissatisfied I am with Blood Mist. Even Blood Mists are dissatisfied with Blood Mist. Think about it, Hellfire: what power does Babylonia and her cronies have anymore? If the rest of the pack up and decided to kill them and throw them out, they'd be dead in a second, but no one in Blood Mist has the guts to try it, so they keep on pretending that they do have leaders and those leaders have power. You know what I have now, Hellfire? I have freedom to do whatever the hell I please and to do what I wish to those around me. That's why I let BurnNote go. Because I fucking can. And there was nothing Blood Mist could do to stop me because there is no real power there. Family isn't precisely your core value, either, is it? No, it's power. Everyone wants it. But here, I am the one who's free of any chains." He glared directly at Hellfire, fearless, with a curving smirk over his maw. Vehemently, he hissed, "Power is what everyone seeks. And I have it."

Hellfire shrugged, the words not really having any effect on him at all. "If you really have as much power as you say you do, then why are you hiding from the Blood Mist? How come you attacked me, Regulus?"[/i] He asked, a defiant, smug smirk on his maw. He stood up, and bowed his head slightly. "If you have power, than who am I too attack you like I have? You must forgive me."[/i] Mockery, and amusement were the first things hinted in his voice. He didn't like Regulus anymore than he had when he hadn't betrayed them. He rolled his shoulders, and turned his head slightly to the right, popping his neck. With a satisfied look on his face, he backed away a few feet, maw turned up into a smirk. "You have proven some points, and I see that they lack leadership. Maybe that's why a few others have gotten it in their head to--Oh, my bad. I shouldn't say anymore."[/i] With a laugh, he shook his head, and said "Fighting you wasn't worth the blood. You say your happy, but with freedom, your still unhappy. Why is that, Regulus?"[/i]

Tiring of the talk, Regulus tossed his head, shrugged his shoulders back and rolled his eyes dramatically. "Oh, I don't know, Hellfire. Why don't you go ponder on it, along with the meaning of life?" He snorted at the brute in contempt. Nothing either said would bring the other to their vision, that much was clear. This talk with Hellfire, and the brief scuffle, too, was a waste. If he somehow ended up dying again along the path he'd chosen, he'd come back pissed as hell, ready to get his revenge. Perhaps, if their scuffle had amounted to anything more, Hellfire would've vowed to do the same. But now, their facing off seemed rather awkward. Okay, you can leave now. "In all honesty, Hellfire, this is the second time they've captured this chick. If they really want her back, they'll come and scoop her up again. BurnNote, on the other hand, was a strategic capture. I'm surprised you didn't run after her instead -- maybe you would've had some quality sibling bonding time. In any case, we both know nothing more is happening here." His glare grew hard. It's time for you to go now, Hellfire. Different though they may be, any fight conducted here would be inconclusive.
Annelise was suddenly seized with another harsh wave of pain. She cried out as it struck her with painful, whip-like lashes that seared through her body. But through the pain that glazed her eyes, a second miralce emerged to join the first. Strangely enough, Annelise's second son was russet-colored, and blazed warmly besides the cool frost of Aubrey and herself. "Eli," she whispered breathlessly.

Hellfire seemed to realize this was getting now where. So, with a chuckle he stood. "I can take a hint, Regulus. You and I no longer see eye to eye. I will go, and, well. I'll give the others your regards."[/i] He smirked, and peered around Regulus to look at the fae, and then chuckled as he glanced at the two pups. He turned, and started walking away when he paused, and glanced over his shoulder. "Your right, Regulus. Perhaps I should have taken this chase a different in a different perspective. I mean, after all, I could have been the one spilling BurnNotes blood on the sod."[/i] A chuckle was heard, a dark one. One full of cruel humor. He turned sideways to face Regulus, and then said "Too bad I missed the family reunion, eh? It would have been one helluva time."[/i]
Everything he was saying was just to eat away at Regulus. BurnNote was dead. He would have given anything to kill her himself. Yet, instead he chose to persue this idiot. He moved away once more, and once again, he paused. "I'll see you around, Regulus. Now, perhaps you should go tend to her."[/i] And with that, he was gone.
--They were getting no where...So, Hellfire had to leave. xP

((He kinda wanted him to leave cause a fight wasn't really gonna do any thing umm we just need Wolfie to hop in so we can finish the birthing =P I guess eventually we'll need to find a way to get Annelise and company back to the Siverians, but that doesn't necessarily have to happen here, unless you'd want to throw your Siverians in?)) Regulus watched him turn and go with cold eyes. Now that the brute had finally turned away, the guise of cool bravado faltered and crumbled into puzzle pieces of uncertainty. BurnNote can't be dead. He couldn't know, either way. He chose to follow me, not her. He can't know what happened to her, he doesn't know anything. He's just letting on he does in an attempt to taunt me. He bared his fangs as he watched the hated Blood Mist leave, but refrained from snarling. Fighting fire with fire would only burn the forest down.
