((I'll bring one in. ^^))
Azlyn snorted as she watched the hated blood mist walk away with hardly anything but a scratch. She hated the Blood Mist with all her being, being that her brother was too, a Hellfire wolven. She snarled in disgust, and shook her head. Emarald green eyes dashed to Regulus, and she thought about what she should do. Right now, she was half burried in the snow, otherwise she would have been found long ago for her canvas was painted with fire. She slowly moved forward, audits perked forward. She was pretty, if you didn't stare at the scar that ran from the top of her brow, to the middle of her neck, then from the top of her spine, to the bottom of her ribs, and yet more; three to be percise that took up the left side of her being. She wasn't sure why she was here, but she was. So, she would do something to help.
"Ahem. I believe I can be of service. That is, if you would like help."[/i] She spoke very little, and when she did she had some what of a accent. Austrilian, perhaps? I'm not sure. Anyways, her green orbs darted to where Hellfire had been standing, and she shook her head in disgust.

Finally able to draw his gaze away from his wretched ex-packmate, Regulus suddenly remembered the ailing Annelise in the den. He whirled around frantically to find her conscience wavering. Two tiny, pitiful bodies whimpered next to her and huddled near her belly for warmth. Her sudden wail signified the pain, if not the birthing, was still in progress. What do I do? She's a healer, but she's gotta focus on being strong now...I can't leave her, either. God, why do I have to be so clueless about all of this? Isn't their an easy solution...? A voice suddenly tore him away from his whirling, disconcerted thoughts. He turned sharply, hairs bristling and teeth bared instinctively. For a moment, he froze with narrowed eyes and studied the newcomer. He took a gentle sniff at the wolf's scent. Siverian....out here? Wait....Siverian. Siverian! "You're a Siverian!" He breathed the word like it was a hallelujah cry. "You're a Siverian! You're her packmate -- you have to help her!"

A slight chuckle was heard, and she calmly walked forward, nodding her head. "Of course I'll help her. Though, I'm not exactly sure how this whole thing works. But, I suppose I could try."[/i] She said, walking past him. Her orbs scanned over Aubrey, and Eli, and for a moment, a worried expression passed over her face. She gently walked over, and nudged the pups closer to their mothers tits. She knew she was in pain, but she would have to get through it. The pups were cold, almost too cold. She really hoped they pulled through the rest of the night. She looked over her fellow pack mate, and nodded softly. "C'mon, darling. You can do it. It won't be long yet."[/i] She whispered softly, encouragingly. She glanced at Regulus, and said "Do you mind stepping outside for a while? Stand guard. Male presense can sometimes make a fae nervous."[/i] Azlyn said, and then looked back toward the mother. She whispered some more encouraging words, and looked over her shoulder again expectantly at Regulus.

For a moment, Regulus hesitated and glanced between the two Siverians, uncertain of what he should do. Really, the debate was stupid; if there was anyone not to be trusted in this grouping, it would be the runaway Blood Mist who'd rescued the pregnant femme only out of a sudden whim. Nevertheless, this wolf was the healer's packmate, he could smell it on her. She offered no hostile aura and Annelise, truly, needed the both of them if she and her pups were to survive. "I'll go and hunt," he offered suddenly. "If any wolves come near here, howl and I'll be there. I'll stay in the area. She'll need meat when she's up for it, she's terribly weak. We can use the furs for a nest." Suddenly, it seemed as if the task of saving the healer was not all that impossible or improbable.

She smiled brightly, and said "I think that's a wonderful idea."[/i] She then turn toward the pups, concern for their well-being riddling her features. She slowly lay down, and helped the healer keep them warm. If Eli and Aubrey were to make it through the night, they would need warm milk, and the warmth from their mother. Alas, she could not give them everything, so Azlyn would would help provide the warmth. She smiled weakly at the healer, and glanced away for a few brief moments. It would take both Regulus and herself to get the pups, and the mother through the night.

Through the shifting haze of pain, Annelise's vision breiefly reasserted itself. She turned her head, baring her teeth against the agonies, "A-Azlyn?" She coughed and spluttered for a moment, her breathing growing increasingly ragged. "What's happening? How did you know I was here? Where did that Blood Mist fellow go?" Annelise, in her hazt state, didn't find it necessary to explain anything to Azlyn, but only wanted answers for herself. In truth, the answers were more for her children. Her heart thumped unevenly, worriedly. What's going to happen to us?
A ways away, the shadow-pelted brute took off at a brisk pace into a frosted copse of conifers. He moved in quiet, fluid motions; he was careful not to disturb any prey, but he was eager to be back at the den. As awkward of a situation it could be, he could still feel the oppressed arguements in his mind reeling over the fact that he'd left the birthing fae alone with a total stranger. Only a stranger to me, he reminded himself. She's her packmate. I'm the real stranger here. The scent of rabbit washed over his nostrils. He dropped into a hunter's crouch and drew himself slowly forward. When the white fluff of the creature was only feet away, he sprang and made a quick kill. He turned, rabbit in mouth, and headed back towards the den where he had left Annelise. He would have to leave to find more to make her a real nest, and she would be ravenously hungry when she was finally able to eat, but his senses were gnawing at him not to leave the two wolves alone long. Hellfire may have left, but that didn't mean there weren't other eyes watching them.

Azlyn smiled slightly, understanding why she was so afraid. She was afraid for her pups, and it's okay. "He went out to find something for us to eat, and to watch for any more blood mist enemies. The other blood mist fellow left. He finally did the smart thing, and left."[/i] Her lyrics were spoken softly. She was worried about her. She had to get her mind off of the negative. She smiled, and nosed the pups softly, and then looked to her pack mate. "Do you have any names picked out for them yet?"[/i] She smiled softly, eyes bright.

Annelise opened her mouth to answer but was choked by a sudden, sharp sensation of pain ripping through her body. For a moment, she arched her back and fought valiantly against the onslaught. It may have been minutes, or seconds, or forever; but some time later, the final pains has subsided at last and her third child was squirming amongst the other two, the only femme in her litter. Annelise managed a weak smile. "She is Pandora." Gazing up at Azlyn, exhaustion in her eyes, she mumured, "The other two are Aubrey and Eli." Suddenly, there was a catch in this inexplicably beautiful moment. Dear Twilight Realm, please don't let her ask about the father... Annelise had been missing for a long time, but her romantic life had been virtually nonexistant and everyone in the pack knew she'd yet to find the "right one" -- or so they thought. Now is not the time for them to find out about Shade...
Regulus cleared his throat at the entrance of the den. He hadn't actually entered, but he moved forward slightly to drop a freshly hunted rabbit on the floor of the den. He glanced between the two Siverian femmes for a moment, and then nodded before turning away and heading out once more to hunt. His dark figure was stark against the frosted grasses as he sauntered away into the copse of woodlands.

She smiled softly, and said "Those are lovely names, my friend." When Regulus cleared his throat at the cave entrance she spun on her heels, the fine hair on the nape of her neck rising on end. Yet, there was no one there. She saw the meat on the ground, and slowly inched forward to look at it. She glanced around, and grabbed the meat, and dragged it over to her packmate. "I know eating is the last thing on your mind, but you need your strength up for your pups."[/i] She whispered softly, nudging her friend with her nose. She only wanted what was best for her and the pups. They would all need their strength.

For a few moments, all she could do was focus on breathing in and out and getting air into her lungs. However, as the food was set beside her, she took a tentative sniff. After a brief hesitation, she began to nibble at the rabbit. She ate slowly, taking her time to chew and swallow properly; for now, at least, her exhaustion and weakness far surpassed her hunger. She blinked gratefully up at Azlyn. If it weren't for her help, I might've been dead by now. "How did you know I was here? It's so far from home...."
(sorry low muse for this one at the moment;; I'll come up with something))

Azlyn shrugged her slim shoulders, and glanced around the cave. She didn't now how she found Annelise. She had just followed a hunch she thought of when she had heard of BurnNote's capture. From what she had heard of BurnNote, she was a strong dove who didn't seem like the type of girl to stay too long in captivity. So, she figured that she would get out, and if she got out, there was a slim chance Annelise would get out. With a smile, she looked toward her friend once more, and said "It was just a hunch. Thought I'd go out on a limb." She gave a soft smile, and then looked away again for a few moments. What would happen to them now? A breeze sent a chill down Azlyn's spin, causing the dove to shudder. ((Haha, it's okay. ))

Thank god she didn't ask.Annelise heaved a visible sigh of relief, confident that Azlyn would not press her -- at least not now -- for the name of the father. She'd failed, even with all of her time in captivity, to think of a plausible faux identity for the father of her pups, though the thought of denying they were the product of her love's was a terrible one. All the same, she couldn't easily let them know she was in love with a Yozoran and had born his children; not when her pack needed her, when their beta had not long ago deserted them -- ironically, to be with her own lover, a former Yozoran -- and in times such as these. Annelise was confident this momentous relief would be interpreted by Azlyn as a realization that she was finally safe, and nothing deeper. She began to chew more eagerly at the rabbit. "How is the pack? I heard there was a battle?"
After roaming a little farther, Regulus had captured another pair of snowshoes and was returning to the den with his catch. And then, I think, it will be time for me to take my leave. He'd decided to remain in the general area, at least until he was certain the Siverians and the newborns had reached their home terra without trouble, but he would stay out of their sight if possible; he was still the enemy, after all. He'd saved Annelise and her pups from a terrible, untold fate, but that didn't make him their friend. Now, Regulus was going to have to decide what to do for himself. He padded to the entrance of the den, dropped the two rabbits at the entrance, and departed in the same manner as he had before. Only this time, he simply moved towards a small copse of fir trees and began to pace restlessly back and forth on its outskirts. My time as a Blood Mist wolf is finished. What now? His mind immediately recoiled at the obvious alternative: join the packs. No, Regulus had had enough of pack life; as much as they would deny any similarity, Blood Mist and the other packs were not so different as they pretended. I'll become a rogue, doing just as I told Hellfire; I'll go on whim, or instinct to tell me what I should do.And, though he was bound to ensuring the protection of the Siverians for the time being, he knew exactly what whim he would be pursuing as soon as he could leave them. I have to make sure she's alive...

Azlyn nodded her head, and said "Yes, there was a battle; I believe. I don't know what exactly happened in it, but I know Frost Hymns fought in it. I'm afraid she went MIA. She wasn't captured, we're sure of that. But whether she's alive or not..I know not."[/i] An audits flicked back as she heard Regulus return with more kills, but he didn't enter the cave. Thank god for him. She thought silently, and shook her head. Yes, things were going to be tough for the two Siverian wolves.
If only Regulus knew that BurnNote had indeed made it back home, but if she didn't break free of the black womb that consumed her she would be lost to the world for ever. He would never know how she felt, and she would never know how he felt.

(hmm....should we leave them here for now?)
Annelise nodded, eyes solemn as she swallowed the information. Her heart went out to the lost Frost Hymns, but a deeper, keener concern pierced at her heart. Did he fight? Does he live? "And the other packs, did they participate as well?" Her breath was held in waiting. Please say they weren't even there... Her ears flicked slightly as Regulus approached and left once more; he would be keeping his distance now. Annelise wrapped her tail around her little younglings. It would be a good amount of time before they would be strong enough to make the journey into Siverian terra, and winter was fast approaching. The mother sent a silent prayer to the heavens. Whoever's watching....keep my children safe.
