Wake Up (Skysong/Kunai)

Skysong padded into the resting dens and made her way to the very back. Though the den was virtually empty, Skysong wanted to be away from the draft of the entrance. Skysong laid down on a heap of moss and curled up like a cat preparing to sleep. The cobwebs swathed on her neck were starting to turn red but Skysong wasn't worried. If any bleeding was going on, it was slow thanks to that strange rouge that had helped her when Jen, Kunai's mother, had attacked them. Skysong had rather stupidly attacked the fae and now here she was slinking around camp to avoid the eyes of her kin. Skysong sighed and tried to sleep but anytime her silver eyes slid closed, she saw Kunai's mother lunging at her neck again and felt that pulse of fear that kept her awake.

Well Kunai talked to Skysong's mentor and he was really nice and was very thankful that he told him that Skysong got the fish and she became tired when she caught it. Also he lied and BlueFrost fell for it. Yay! He walked down to the den and saw Skysong trying to sleep. "hey are you O.K."

Skysong looked up, careful not to turn her head too much. "Yeah, I'm fine" Skysong lied though it was feeble lie. Anybody could see through it if they looked hard enough and knowing Kunai, he'd see it. Skysong sighed and shook her head. "Well...no...no I'm not." The fae sighed and laid her head on her paws.

Now Kunai was really scared now. More nightmares are going to come her and his way to. The she-devil herself, his mother was the devil who was living in that forest when he found Star. Not Verlust, he isn't scared of Verlust, he was scared of Jen. The backstabbing, heartbreaking mother. "I really didn't know that my mother was following us during the traveling really but I know now that she is dead so please let it go like you said, I don't need her anymore and nither do you."

"I know" Skysong murmured, curling her paws under her. "I just keep seeing it...." Skysong murmured. She knew he would know what she was talking about. Skysong had never been in that kind of situation. Yeah she'd been around during the final battle with BloodMist but honestly, she had never had to face a wolf larger then her with the intent of killing her. It was scary to say the least. Neophytes never really understood that bloodlust until the time came for their first battle but Skysong had gone out of camp with the intent of hunting, not seeing a fae ready to kill her for defending her friend.

It was really an unexpecting thing in Kunai's words from what Skysong ment. He is going to get nightmares just like Sky and going to regret him from living, but living is good because if he wasn't there then Skysong might have died because there wouldn't be anything at all. Also in a way that he thanks Jen because if it wasn't for her then he wouldn't have ment anyone here. What would his guardian think when she finds out that he was missing for a while. It would be scary feeling, but Star is way nicer. Jen made Verlust like the happiest wolf on earth.

Skysong sighed softly and looked over at Kunai. "Are you ok? I mean, she didn't get you or anything did she?" Skysong was just the kind of wolf that she could by dying and she would still ask if someone else was ok. She had seen Kunai leap on Jen and didn't know if the fae had hurt him. If she had, Skysong would make him go to Sedaka and of course, remain in the resting dens.

Kunai shook his head, "No she didn't but I didn't wanted you to do that, I before I turned around there was a cave that was small enough for the both of us and she couldn't have gotten a paw on us," He explained. The depressed pup didn't want her to do anything like that again, he does care about her but it was just scary that he doesn't want to loose another life that he could have had. It makes him feel that he was lifeless. Emotionless.

"Listen here Kunai" Skysong barked a bit sharply, "I'll do whatever I have to do to keep my packmates safe. Like it or not that includes you and like it or not, eventually it may get me killed. That's what wolven warriors do." Her voice softened a bit and she licked Kunai's muzzle. "Besides, I'm fine." A little tramuatized but fine.

[nighty!]

{Crowd}: Awww...

Kunai almost blushed when Skysong licked him. "Sorry... well now I think that you believe me about my parents and my mother, if I lived when she abandoned me, then she would kill me, she didn't kill me when you got in the way but I'm only happy that your still here," He nodded. Sky and Kunai were going to become wolven warriors too so sacrifices will have to come in when your in a situation when Kunai and Skysong were attacked by Jen. Jen was dead, that wolf killed her, he was happy that she was dead. Dead.

Skysong turned her moon-branded head and looked at Kunai. He seemed to used to think being black was a curse but now Skysong could see why he thought that. Hunted by your own mother, that was low. Skysong however had black fur on all sides, from Aliya and Sirius. It was unavoidable for her. Reaching forward, Skysong licked Kunai's muzzle. He looked troubled and thoughtful. "What are you thinking about?" she asked softly.

What was he talking about? "I was saying that you now know my mother and almost died at the moment," Kunai explained to Skysong. It did troube him, his mother died with disgrace and only if she did look at a wolf that was a different color without even leaving a mark on her. The abandoned wolf pup knew that she died and he knows that she died. It was scary just seeing her again, he was more scared of Blood Mist than Jen now just to think about it.

Skysong laid her head on her paws and sighed. "Try not to think of her Kunai. She's dead, let her stay that way." Something in Skysong's mind however couldn't seem to wrap around that fact. The wolf that had been more then willing to kill her was dead. It didn't seem possible. It just seemed........wrong. Something about it was wrong though Skysong couldn't pin it down. Shifting a bit as if nervous, Skysong curled her tail around her legs, troubled silver eyes gazing past Kunai.

Let her stay that way....

Kunai thought about that before speaking and relized that Skysong was right, don't think about it and you would just forget, keeping it that way. He layed down on the hard ground not try to think about Jen. There was a little pain in his head, a headache, it was nothing, just a really small one. It wouldn't hurt. Kunai didn't reply.
