A dark wolf lumbered through it's territory, with the barest limp. He had been burnt from the war, the place where he had tried to help. It had been a nice act, but it had led to him and once Yozorans seeing their leader. Except, it hadn't been him, hadn't been Bain. This creature was a menace to the packs and they had seen it change from their leader as it it were a caterpillar emerging into the world as a butterfly. The analogy sounded better than what happened in real life. Lucky for Jolon, the water had allowed his burn to heal somewhat, at least enough that normal water could do. He really couldn't tell if it had quickened the healing process or not because he was hyped on adrenaline and pain at the moment, not to mention the sheer amount of blood that had littered the canvas where he had fought. The Golden One probably had been looking out for him because his burns could have been hurting tons more and now, one wouldn't even notice the slight burn other than a scratch. Jolon kept going towards camp, but stopped. He didn't know why, but he looked back as if he could still see the wolves who had helped him. His eyes glittered under the pre-dawn light. Perhaps he'd see another wolf nearby, one he could tell of the things they had seen. -OPEN!! (Jolon needs some wolves to talk to at least...can be friend or foe )

In the darkness of the undergrowth, Trianna licked her wounds. The cover was no longer necessary, really; she may have left the Yozorans long ago, but Bain had always had a soft spot for her. He understood her feelings, he understood her fury. It was something her siblings hadn't grown enough to understand yet. They'd lost the same family as she had, but she'd lost something different, too. Trianna had lost Flisk. She'd lost a love. Bain may or may not have experienced something similar, but he was wise and did not try to tell her to push her emotions away. He didn't tell her what to do at all, which was probably what made him so easy to follow.
Her ears twitched as the nearby brush rustled with the sounds of movements. Trianna contemplated her position. The scent was Yozoran for sure, and definitely familiar. Too familiar. She knew this wolf. She despised this wolf. He was the true reason Kasparr and Autumn weren't with her anymore. In the back of her mind Trianna knew they had been planning to return anyway, but she shook the thought fiercely away. No, it was all Jolon's fault. He's gonna regret ever trifling with me!
Trianna rose from her place in the brush, directly behind where Jolon was standing. She snarled coldly under her breath. "And the traitor returns!"

((Sorry Sivvy for not replying. I've been worrying over finals and such so I didn't get to reply till now. let the plot thicken! Muwhahahaha)) A sudden lurching darkness rose from the ground right where he had been looking. His body shifted itself for he faced the wolf. From the scent, it was Yozoran, but he knew it wouldn't be as easy as that when he heard the words escape her lips. It was Trianna and she seemed absolutely furious at him. He took a step towards her with ears lowered in confusion. The step caused him to limp a bit, but other than that he looked perfectly healthy. He saw no reason why she would be mad at him and call him such a name as traitor. His fur rose up at that name, but it just made him question Trainna more in his mind. Then he suddenly understood what could be causing her to act like this. Jolon's ears instantly went back up at attention. She was possibly angry at him taking her brother and sister away and in a way connecting them back to the pack. It was their choice not hers and he'd let her know. "Hello, Trianna. It's nice to see you again," he barked politely. No use giving her more fuel to start the fire with. Also, he wasn't one to be rude to a lady. "I was actually looking for you, you know?," he said with a surreal calm. Jolon took a light step towards her.

((No prob )) "Ha! Looking for me? I'm not a wolf that can be found, Jolon. I am only seen if I wish to be!" The words spilled from her maw in a cold, condescending snarl that rumbled in her throat long after she'd finished speaking. Her black lips pulled back over her incisors as he took a step towards her. Danger flashed in her eyes. Take one more step, mutt, and taste my teeth! She didn't really know where all of this anger had erupted from, but she'd carried it with her for a very, very long time. It had been burrowed so deeply in her bodice that she hadn't really realized until now just how much anger she was storing. At first, the magnitude of her hatred for this wolf she scarcely knew but loathed anyway had surprised her. But the surprise had passed in a blink, and she relished the power she felt as the fire rose higher in her chest. "Name your purpose here, traitor," she drawled. Maybe if I can get some use out of you, I won't tell Bain everything you've been up to. She smirked devilishy at the other wold. But he won't know that little detail, now will he? He won't know I have any sort of bond with Bain. What would a former neophyte have with the pack alpha that could be of any use? That's what makes Bain such a great alpha. He truly cares for every wolf in the pack, whether they are important or not.

Jolon merely sighed at Trainna's response. She thought she was clever, a wolf that could hide when it pleased. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Any wolf could be found, especially a young one with the stink of loner and Yozoran blending into it's fur. He wouldn't be the one to tell her all that though. If she wanted to feel high and mighty than he would let it. Who was he to deflate her pride?
Now the look in her eyes at the one step he'd taken caught him by surprise. Why was she so hateful towards him? They were packmates in a way... at least they had ties through the pack. He'd done nothing to anger her other than threatening her relationship with her siblings. Perhaps when he told her why he had been looking for the anger would melt away. A question formed in his own gaze at Trainna in response to her.
The warrior hadn't forgot that name she kept calling him though and it irratated him. How was he a traitor when Bain was decieving everyone? Wait, on what grounds is she calling me a traitor? I've done nothing in her eyes to cause that.... A light growl pronounced how he felt about Trainna talking bad about him. Here she was, bearing her jowls at him for no reason. He didn't have to take this from her at all.
"I came to tell you that Kasparr and Autumn are safe and well. They left me a while ago near the border. I just wanted to make sure you know because I can guess how much they mean to you," he said while looking at Trainna meaningfully. He kept her gaze for a moment before showing his own incisors. "However, I would like to know on what condition you call me a traitor? That is a name I don't take lightly to," he growled lowly showing his disdain for her comment. Jolon wasn't ready to attack her, but was merely showing how much she was getting on his nerves.

Trianna snorted in contempt. Slimy bastard! Most of what Jolon said was dismissed with an irritable flick of her ears or swish of her tail. Her eyes never left his while he spoke, and they bore into him with mounting disdain. What kind of wolf does he think he is, to believe he is so above pack law? Egotistical prat...
"The alpha's word is law, and you are out to sabotage him, thus sabotaging your own pack. It is one thing to exile yourself to the wilderness, it is another to commit treason. You betray the alpha, you betray the Yozoran cause. He is your leader, and it is his decision what the Yozorans stand for, not yours, whelp! So not only do you aim to make moves against your own alpha, but you aim to corrupt the minds of two young would-be neophytes! Autumn and Kasparr are grieving, and you're taking advantage of it. You're taking advantage of it to better your own goals, and I won't stand for it anymore!"
The growl in her throat increased in volume as she leaned back on her haunches, perpared to pounce.

Jolon's eyes narrowed as Trianna assualted him with her words. They tore into him as if she'd actually bitten through his skin. How could she be so stupid as to not see what Bain was? He'd been onto the alpha as soon as he had been given the position. Bain was a great leader, if only he didn't have that problem of sneaking off into the night and becoming something ethereal.
He listened to Trainna's words and had to hold back a chuckle. Their alpha had said they wouldn't fight, but he'd seen the leader there, along with Autumn and Kasparr. There was not just one witness, but three. The way Trainna was coming onto him was almost like she had seen everything they had, but in a different view, one who knew nothing . This would be neophyte was out of her range of knowledge and it disturbed him by the way she presented herself to him.
The warrior noticed her stance change to that of about to spring at prey. His hackles and tail raised sending a clear message across: don't even try. "I don't have any other objective than to protect my pack!," he growled loudly at her from deep within. "Can't you see that Bain is acting strange? I was proud to call him my alpha until he deserted us many a times. I didn't want to believe he was doing so. Then he ordered us not to help the other packs in the battle that just occurred, but guess what, he was there! Not only that, but he was helping the Blood Mist's. He is the eyes in our pack for them," he spat at her as his eyes burned. Couldn't she see through the mist that was in her mind? Bain wasn't himself, he was a monster. The monster had claimed the leader Trainna seemed to love so much.
"Autumn and Kasparr saw everything I did without me persuading them. It was them that volunteered. Ask them for yourself because I didn't do anything to sway them. They know the truth about Bain and the monster inside him. They want me to tell the pack with their help," he barked while flicking his tail the way he had come. They were close by because it had only been a few minutes since they had left him on the border. "Trainna before you start judging me, try to think of your position in all this. Have you seen Bain lately? You have no right to stand in my way of telling the truth because the order of things go like this: if a leader is corrupt, the pack can strip him of his rank and do as they please for the good of them. I don't want his rank, I just want my pack back!," he said.
The black wolf lowered his form to that about to pounce as his amber eyes glowed with vengence. "If you want to get in my way, just know I'm not the one destroying your true homeland," he growled as his tail swept back and forth. Jolon hoped that he'd explained enough to the young she-wolf, but then again, anything was possible, even a half-twit talking down it's elders.

A new kind of anger boiled in her gut. He thought she was stupid. He thought she was ignorant! But it was fitting of him -- fitting of the rest of how he'd acted towards her thus far. Her eyes narrowed to slits as she stared him down. She could see right through him, but he couldn't even tell. In a hiss, she ranted back at him. "I know more than you think, Jolon! I'll even let you in on a little secret -- I was at the battle too! Only I wasn't on the side of the packs, I was on the side of the Yozorans -- Bain's side! I might now know absolutely everything about him, but from the way you've had to prowl around, it seems like I know a lot more than you! The packs are separated for a reason, Jolon -- you can stand across the border with the rest of them, or you can stand with your own pack. Time's have changed, why can't anybody else see that? That's what makes Bain such a great leader -- he accepts change and he adapts to it. The Yozorans don't have to depend on the other packs anymore, they're the wildcard. They need us, but as long as we can play like we might help Blood Mist out, Blood Mist needs us too. Can't you see the beauty in that? Wolves are going to die, Jolon; they do in every war, with or without Blood Mist. Bain's doing his best to make sure it's not Yozoran wolves who have to die. It's called strategy!" She rose to her paws, pelt fluffed in anger as she stalked forward, slowly circling the other wolf. "So what is this, Jolon? Are you truly that blind to not see how this could help our pack, or do you just want his spot for yourself? Or both? So go an challenge him, then, Jolon. You wouldn't be half the leader he is!"

The dark wolf watched as the young female sent him her own torrent of words that were on the precipece of truth. It made his lips pull into a smile. If she only knew what evil lurked within Bain. It wasn't that he didn't see the strategy at what Bain was doing, but how he was going about it. Their leader was only thinking short-term and had endangered them all. Blood Mist was going to think they could just prance in Yozoran territory and claim it all for themselves. Yozoran pack would eventually be no more and as soon as that happened the other packs were lost. He felt as sure in this as the Golden one himself.
Wind picked up as if to soothe him and his boiling heart. Trainna was beginning to circle him, but Jolon wouldn't be swayed into fighting her. He'd be going against a wolf bent on killing him while he could only go so far. What honor would there be in this fight? He didn't react to her words as she barked them out. She expected them to cause him to lunge at her, but he merely stood there as his body composed itself again.
To answer her he only had a few words to say. "Trainna," he said with a shake of his head. When he looked up at her, his eyes looked wet as if tears were about to break loose just for her. "I'm sorry, but change is only good when it doesn't hurt others," he said uttered. And with that he took a step backwards, towards camp, towards the home he was fighting for. He wouldn't have this one burn to the ground, he being the only one that survives again. He wouldn't sit and watch as others took the name of the land that had been burnt, not if he had anything to do with it.
Then he raised everything on his body and with burning eyes barked at Trainna, "Half a leader of what Bain is will always be better than a full one." He'd had enough of this wolf telling him how wrong he was because in his heart he knew the decision was his and it was right. Trainna was the one being blinded and so was Bain or whatever he was. Yozoran pack would not allow Blood Mist to stomp around their territory or any other's. They were better than that and Bain was deteriating that pride.
Jolon turned towards his camp and began to take off, but before he could plant his second step, he whirled around and ran towards Trainna, get her side and cause her to fall a few feet away. He wouldn't hurt her. It was time this warrior showed the would be neophyte just where she stood. One thing he couldn't stand was a wolf assuming it was higher than it's actual rank. Trianna had no grounds to reason with him, not even friendship ones.

Trianna rolled her eyes and spat at him with disgust. He thought she was lowly because she was younger, but she had seen and felt and hurt just as much as any Yozoran had. One could argue there were no young Yozorans left alive since the war had begun. The pain and suffering had raped them of their innoccence and left in its stead tortured, troubled souls in the bodies of children. Trianna's eyes flashed dangerously at Jolon, though she truly had no real intention of fighting him anymore. He was a waste of energy as far as she was concerned. In a world where it was a struggle to just survive, Trianna supposed she'd need the energy for later. She had a long journey ahead of her.
Jolon had done wrong by her. They were naturally antagonistic, sure, since he'd come at her family and forced them apart with his pigheadedness, but they did not have to be enemies before this night. He could've learned something from what she said, could've taken it into consideration. Even if he was just a lying, ambitious sounderal who wanted Bain's position for himself, he could've learned from her. His plan was flawed and weak as long as he couldn't effectively dismantle her own arguement or prove it as infallibly false.
But maybe their meeting had happened as it had for a reason. Everything had a reason now, or at least Trianna believed it did. She was certain Bain believed something similar as well, and in time, when the rest of the Yozorans came to the same realizations as their alpha, they would believe it, too. Jolon was blind, and he could not see. She didn't bother to point out the ignorance in his parting statements. We could change and hurt or we could keep the status quo and die painful deaths. What is better, hurt or murder? What is better, adapting or stubbornly staying still? You cannot remain stationary in a changing world....
Trianna ducked into the gorse as Jolon turned to rush at her. Luckily, the she-wolf was out of reach and had no intentions of turning back. She was going to accept her fate. She was going to become a Blood Mist.
