BurnNote had made a hasty retreat back into the lands, moving as fast as her injured body would allow her to go. Her fiery red pelt was smudged with her own blood, as well as the worthy opponents she had faced that day. Mud, and dirt were also seen in patches across her body. Her body ached every where being that she had just recovered from being held a prisoner when her duty of Beta called her into action again. She had a ragged tear of a wound on her neck that was still oozing blood, but the adrenaline was already pumping through out her whole body. It wasn't giving her time to feel, or think. She was running blindly through Brokenwood. It was only a matter of time before... CRACK!
She hadn't seen the fallen trunk, and tripped over it. The force of the fall sent her body twisting across the terra; her body crashing through branches, and thorn bushes. As she came to the edge of a small ravine she rolled down it, and met many boulders on the way. When she reached the bottom, she didn't make any effort to get up. In fact, she was perfectly content to diminish here. Alone. Where no one could find her. It's just as well...I'm only a fool...falling for a wolf I hardly know! What the hell is up with that? She whimpered softly, though those words had never left her unopened jowls. She had fallen for the wolf that had been guarding her in that camp.
He had held her prisoner. He still held her heart prisoner. With a look of horror she sobbed once into her paws, her eyes closing for but a moment. He had called her an angel, and she threw it in his face. She was just so angry...so...so pissed off. The young fae was strong for others, but when left to her own devices she could be dangerous to herself. Softly, her melodious lyrics left her sickly sweet maw, and mingled with the dense air that engulfed her in silence. To be, or not to be, that is the question... BurnNote had said it mostly to herself, but it was loud enough for one who had been leisurely passing by to hear it. Quite frankly, she didn't know if she cared. Is that scary, or what?

He was just checking to make sure she hadn't done something stupid and hurt herself after he'd gone to all that trouble to save her sorry butt. Or at least that's what he told himself. It might've been a lie, but Regulus pretended not to notice it. He loped leisurely through Destinian territory as if he had every right to be there. He wore the smug grin on a cat who'd just enjoyed a saucer of milk. It had felt good to get back at his former Blood Mist cronies. They were so damn annoying! he couldn't begin to contemplate why or how he'd put up with them for so long. He bore some deeper wounds from his scuffle with Hellfire, but other than that his wounds were minor nuisances.
And then he saw her. Of course, she was blubbering like an idiot. She did that when she'd been a Blood Mist captive, too. It was sort of cute if it didn't have the potential of being so scary.
He came up casually behind her, and in a low, polite tone murmured, "Hello, Miss. Is it sunny out today or are you just glowing with beauty?"

The deep, robust lyrics of the brute shocked her so badly she jumped nearly ten feet in the air before crumbling to a messy heap of fur, blood, and useless muscle. She lay there stunned for a few moments with her eyes closed tightly shut. He's only a figment of your imagination, BurnNote. He's not really there. Count to ten, and he'll be gone. She took a deep breath, and began to count in her head. Ten, nine, eight, seven... She slowly counted down, and once she reached 'one', she gingerly opened one eye. At first, she just saw blurry images, and her heart nearly sank for she still hoped he was there. And when her eyesight adjusted she saw the black figure standing before her. Her heart gave a little leap of joy, and seemed to soar for a few moments before she cleared her throat, and looked down.
If wolves could have blushed, then you can be sure that she would be blushing. She cleared her throat softly, and said I think it's just sunny out...but I'll let you be the judge of that. She said, standing up right again. She winced slightly as the movement tugged at the tears in her canvas; threatening to rip even further, and cause even more damage than there was. She eyed him for a few moments, and breathed out softly, before venturing on to say: Thank you, Regulus... After that, she was lost for words, and didn't know what else to say, she just hoped that he would know what she was thanking him for.

Regulus watched with unsupressed amsuement as a million and one emotions raced through BurnNote's form. When the storm had finally calmed, she breathed an expression of gratitude that barely reached his ears -- he was laughing too hard. But the words she spoke quieted the laughter, and he raised a questioning brow at her. "'Thank you', huh? Thanks for what exactly? For saving your sorry bum or for letting you go from Blood Mist? Or all of the above? No need to say thank you, Princess. After all, would you really need to be let go if I hadn't taken you in the first place? Would you really need to be saved had you never been in the Blood Mist camp before? Hellfire might've been after you, sure, but he would've known so much less about you if you hadn't ever been a Blood Mist prisoner. So please, don't thank me." His voice had grown serious as he spoke, the last ghost of a laugh no longer visible on his muzzle. His eyes were searching hers, but what he might be searching for was anyone's guess. What are you doing here Regulus? He pushed the thought away once more, but it continued to gnaw at the back of his brain. What are you doing here? What are you doing here?

BurnNote only managed to keep eye contact with her for a few moments before stealing her blue optics from his. She was listening to his words intently. She opened her mouth to say more, but found no words on the tip of her tongue. Instead, she plastered her optics to his, searching for something. Anything to tell her what was going to happen. BurnNote was afraid, but because of her position in the pack she would never admit it to anyone that she was afraid. She was strong on the outside, but on the inside she was slowly crumbling. A strong soul that was slowly losing the light. Slowly seeing the darkness that entombed her. She shifted on her paws for a few moments, before clearing her throat softly.
Hellfire would have found me either way. And besides, she gave a half-hearted smile. If I had never been captured, I would have never become beta of the pack. She smiled now, brilliantly, and for a few moments that small smile reached her eyes. She found herself searching his gaze once more, the smile on her lips slowly fading to nothing. Come on, Regulus...tell me why your here... She thought, before closing her optics once more. What are you going to do now? She found herself blurting out.

(Sorry, I kinda forgot about this thread xD )
The only answer he gave to her searching looks was a calm, guarded stare in return. What answers do you think you'll find, huh? Are you really certain you're asking the right questions? Maybe you have the answers, and I have the questions, and you're doing this all the wrong way. His response to her inquiry was a simple shrug of his broad shoulders. "I dunno," he murmured, suddenly thoughtful. What was he going to do now? The battle was a fun pasttime, and it was certain there would be more to come. The best way to get away from all of it would be to head into the mountains, but the safest route up the perilous peaks lay back through Blood Mist territory, which wouldn't be a smart place to be, even for him. He didn't really want to miss out on the blood bath, either -- it would be fun, getting back at some of his former packmates. "I guess I'm really a rogue wolf now," he said finally. "I'll get out of the packlands soon and roam through some of the free territories, I suppose. Things are tense right now, but I'll come back in a moon or so to enjoy the explosions." Suddenly, he looked sharply up at her, eyes no longer hazy with reflection. "You know this is far from over, right? This is just the beginning. With Assyria at the head and Hellfire not too far behind her, Blood Mist is going to turn into a powerhouse. No matter what your pack friends think, Blood Mist has new leadership now and therefore a renewed purpose. They're not just a patchy group of killers anymore. They have a purpose."

Taken aback would be the only logical, and accurate way of describing her as a sharp look enterd his hazy optics once again. Arching an eyebrow slightly, she tilted her head to the side thoughtfully. Yes, he did have a point. They were in for it now. What do you mean, Hellfire not far behind. She asked, her gaze now unwavering as she watched him. Biting her lower lip, she tried to decide on what she would do. You don't mean that... Slowly, dread began to enter the female as she slowly began to come to an understand of what he was saying. Was he saying that Hellfire had some power in the pack now? Some say? Her mouth turned into a frown for a few moments, and the only thing she could think to do was turn, and runaway. Maybe she could run away from all the desctruction. Her heart couldn't take it anymore. Swallowing hard, she said Hellfire's insane though! He'll burn the whole forest down just to get what he wants! He'll...he'll shed blood! He'll rip innocent lives apart...and Assyria is no better. Her blue optics reflected fear for a few moments, before she closed her eyes. What am I going to do... She thought.
[Hehe. It's okay. Sorry I've been gone... :c]

It was the first time he'd ever been sure of what to do when it came to BurnNote. Even when he'd set her free -- it'd turned out to be a good decision, but it had taken him a while to know and understand that. At the time, it had been a whim, and he'd simply been daring enough to go with it. Now, though, things were different. He looked at her without a trace of anything in his eyes except determination -- determination she should know exactly what she was fighting against. The packs were choosing to be oblivious, or maybe they were just that prejudiced that they couldn't understand that Blood Mist was capable of anything except murder. "BurnNote, you have to listen -- really listen here," he told her, voice dark. It wasn't patronizing, or scolding -- rather, he was urging her to hear every word he said as a sign or omen for what was to come. "Yes, I mean, Hellfire has some power now. I don't think they've officially been named or nominated as you do in your pack, but if I had to compare them to something you're more familiar with, I would call Assyria the alpha and Hellfire the beta. Things are a little different in Blood Mist than in the other packs, but Assyria is unquestionably the leader and she has relied on Hellfire to back her up and act as her adviser." Noting her distress, he couldn't keep himself from licking her forehead in a gesture of comfort. "Hey, don't freak out," he murmured, voice growing softer. "I know it comes as a bit of a shock, but there's more to the equation than those two. And before, I would say you're right...but that's not what's happening here anymore. Blood Mist had a purpose. They aren't just a bunch of insane, mindless killers anymore. I didn't learn much about it before I left, but I know it has to do with a wolf named Hades that they have an alliance with, and he has pull somewhere within the packs." He had hope for her, the brave new beta of the Destinians. Maybe, just maybe, she'd be able to save her pack.

The way he spoke, the way he urged her to listen was enough to get her twin harks to perk forward, and her whole body shifted forward, her muscles in her front columns groaning as they took her weight. Her optics took in his own, and the determination she saw was enough to give her the strength, for at least now. She knew what she had to do, but was she really, truly up to the job? Fireflight must think so, for she had named BurnNote Beta. When it came to making decision on a whim, there was none better than BurnNote. That's just how she worked, you see. Sometimes that's how she got into trouble, like on the battle field that one night when she had fought Regulus, and had been taken prisoner. Regulus spoke, and BurnNote listened. Yes, yes. I see your point. I don't give Hellfire enough credit. She sighed softly, closing her eyes for a few moments. The wind brushed past her, and ruffled her fiery fur, before she opened her eyes for a few moments. He used to be good, if you can believe that. He used to be a wonderful big brother. He was always there for me. Always there to tell me I could do better, that I was strong.
Her eyes flashed though, and she met his gaze with her blue optics. But then the world turned on him. So he turned on the world, and every one he ever cared about at one time. I used to believe that there was good in every one, and I still do. I just think...he's the exception now. Shaking her head, she dismissed the ancient history lesson, and said Hellfire is a smart wolf. He's intelligent. He's a good asset to the Blood Mist. He's got some what of a blood lusting though, which just might lead to trouble. If the Blood Mist actually have a purpose now, then what is it? She asked, frowning just slightly for a few moments, her brow coming together for a moment. As he licked her forehead, he had managed to bring her back to her senses, even for a few moments. She grinned softly, arching a brow now as he told her not to freak out. But he's next words brought a frown to her pretty complexion.
Hades? An alliance? That doesn't sound good, Regulus. She murmured softly, her eyes drifting away from his form for a few moments. If she could bite her nails, then you can be sure that she would be gnawing on them right now as if she were a nervous wreak. Her eyes slowly drifted back toward him, and she took a deep breath. Not every wolf is going to live to see the end of the war...what about every pack? Even the loners seem to be getting caught up in this. She murmured, looking to him once more.

Relief flooded him -- BurnNote understood. More than understood; she was beginning to draw the very same conclusions on her own. A small, crooked smile lit up his face as she spoke. Though the words they shared were dire, and the packs clearly underestimated their enemy, all was not lost; there was a middle road here that was ready for the taking. "Exactly, BurnNote, that's it exactly! Blood Mists aren't murderers, they aren't barbarians, and they aren't demons. They're just plain old wolves. Wolves who want payments to quench their thirsts for vengeance in the form of pack blood. They might be murderous and barbaric, but they are wolves like anyone else. They all have strengths, true, but they also have weaknesses, and they also have emotions, no matter how good they are at hiding it." He paused, smile flickering out suddenly. "Yes, what indeed is their purpose? The general consensus amongst all of them would be to show the others packs that Blood Mist has a right to be a pack and settle like anyone else. And to be honest, they truly should be able to. There's no reason besides past hatred that they shouldn't be able to. But the problem here is that Assyria wants to take it further than that. She wants to start a whole revolution that will change life as we know it forever, and will make Blood Mist essentially immortal. I don't know how much support she has now, but it's probably increased since they won the battle. However, there are older Blood Mists who were more loyal to Babylonia and would probably prefer to tone it down a bit. They are wary of her at best. They're the good ones -- there are good Blood Mists. But they are also the overshadowed ones." His eyes grew soft as they met hers once more, and his crooked smile took up it's old place on his face. "It's a lot to deal with, and a lot to digest, but I have faith in you. You should, too. It's true, not everyone will live, and it wouldn't surprise me if one of the packs was wiped out altogether. But not the Destinians -- you guys are tough."

She arched an eyebrow slightly, a small smile curling up at the corners of her mouth. If you were just a wolf standing from a far you might have thought that they were having a friendly conversation about stuff that were happy. Stuff that wasn't so dire, and life threatening. As he spoke, she nodded her head for a moment, understanding what he was saying. They were barbarians, that was true. They were in a sense, murderers, but they were also just wolves. I know not all the blood mist are bad. Blood Mist can change... She murmured softly, her eyes locking pointedly on him for a few moments before she looked away. She had seen his smirk, and it caused something to stir in her stomach. When Regulus was here, it seemed like there was hope. Like there was something that could be done about the impending doom. So, are you saying we have to find a way to get to the good Blood Mist? It'd take a helluva lot of convincinig to do that, wouldn't it? She asked, cocking her head to the side for a moment. She couldn't help but be bashful as he spoke about the Destinian pack. She bowed her head slightly, and said Yeah, but we've got our kinks to work out as well...right now, Fireflight seems fixed on revenge, you know? She wants her pups back, and her mother instinct is kicking in. She murmured softly, and her blue eyes drifted back to him once more. What do you think we should do? Fight back head on? Or be more sneaky about it? Act like we backing off? She murmured, tilting her head to the side.
