Snowstorm sat in the back of the sleeping caves, staring at the entrance through her pale amarillo pools. Her ivory banner flicked impatiently and she had a restless look about her. The healers had kept her down for some time because of illness in the mountains when she'd come to meet her mate and daughter after falling ill and nearly dying. She had been worrying about Mirage ever since, her second daughter sent away when she had thought she was dying. Snowy still hadn't managed to make peace with her mate and other daughter, Illusion. Snowstorm sighed and rose to her paws. The snow-coated femmora limped to the cave entrance and prepared to leave the camp. She wasn't needed here. She doubted Tumbleweed would notice and knowing that made her heart heavy and her eyes darken.

A big, wood-colored brute ran to Snowy. "Where are you going?" Tumbleweed asked casually. He stepped infront of her.

Snowstorm nearly collided with her mate and took a quick step back. "Oh, it's just you" she murmured, briefly worried that another healer was going to try and force her back to the dens again. "I don't know" she admitted with a heavy sigh. "Out of your way I suppose, find Mirage, try to make up for everything I've messed up." Snowstorm met Tumbleweed's eyes. She looked tired but then again, Snowstorm had been forced out of an innocent, normal youth the night her pack died and she lost the use of a leg. Ever since then she'd always looked tired and haunted.

Tumbleweed met Snowy's gaze. "You did nothing." he said, calmly but sternly.

"Thanks love" Snowstorm murmured, brushing her muzzle against his. "But I still have to find Mirage. She thinks I'm dead and to be honest, I think Illusion will be a lot happier once I've left." From Snowy's view, it seemed Illusion still held a grudge against her for...misinturpetting Tumbleweed's sudden disappearance before she and Mirage had left the old terras. Snowstorm still hadn't spoke to her daughter and wasn't quite looking forward to it.

Tumbleweed shrugged. "No. She's just grumpy. We're all on edge after the journey. Anyway, our whole family will have to leave after you find Mirage."

"But Tumbleweed, I thought you would stay here?" Snowstorm barked, surprised he wanted to leave. "I mean, I would leave because I don't feel like being treated like an elder but you can help their healers and Illusion can become a warrior." Snowy studied her mate carefully. Had he really already forgiven her for messing up so badly? Tumbleweed had always been forgiving but still, Snowy had thought he wanted to stay. It seemed odd that he'd want to return to being a loner. Snowstorm had to do it because for her, there was no other option.

"I belong a loner." Tumbleweed explained. "There's no other loner healers. They would need my help. And Illusion is lame, too. Remember?"

Snowstorm looked away from Tumbleweed when he spoke the word lame. It was a brand that had been burned into her long ago and it seemed....wrong that Illusion would share the same brand from an age so young. Snowy sighed softly. "Don't...don't use that word for her" Snowy murmured. "Illusion isn't as bad as she could be and who knows? Maybe she'll grow out of it? She's still young, don't brand her a lame or cripple before her time."
