"Tisana?" Raven called into the den, voice hoarse and raspy. "I have a cough...and my throat is quite sore." She explained. "My pups, Romeo, Robin, and Shasta have it, too." She nudged her three young pups forward. All three seemed a bit frazzled and sleepy. "I think it may be white cough," she explained.
Though winter was kind, winter was winter. Sickness came, and Siv had not yet learned the full ectent of her abilities. However, seasons can do little to stop disease.

Tisana nodded. "I don't doubt it. Well come in and sit down. I don't want you infecting the others."
She gathered a few herbs and cursed as she found that she was out of honey. "Hmm... I don't guess any bees would be around either. Guess I'll just improvise."

Raven frowned, looking a tad frightened. Sh gathered her pups close to her in the back of the den. Her body was racked with spasms of coughs and sneezes. "Oh...wow..."

Tisana whipped around. "Heelooo." She giggled fitfully. She gathered coltsfoot, feverfew, tansy, and wolfmint on one leaf, a big enough dose for three pups. On another leaf she gathered feverfew, tansy, thyme, and wolfmint on a leaf for Raven. She pushed the plants to the wolves. "Now take those." She split the pups' leafull of meds into threes with her claws. "And Raven, you take these. The wolfmint should give the pups a good night's rest, but you might need a little extra. And I'm sorry, but I'm out of honey. But, I think I might have something else saved from last summer. They're probably still good, too."
She rushed to her supplies and grabbed a stemfull of honeysuckles. She scraped her claws on a rock, one of those that catch fire, and began a small blaze. She placed a rock over it, the rock having a natural dip full of water. stripped the honeysuckle flowers from the stem, careful not to release the juices. She dropped the stem in the bubbly water and waited. A few minutes later, a sweet smell came from the water, and she pushed the rock off of the dying flame. She nosed it over to the mother and pups. "There. But be careful, it's hot." She smiled warmly.

Raven smiled a small smile at Tisana and blinked her thanks before swallowing her the medications Tisana had given her. She knew she should've come sooner, but with the journey and the battle, Tisana had been so busy. The last thing she wanted to do was burden her pack. When her pups got sick, however, she couldn't hold off any longer. She closed her eyes and fell into a troubled, fitfull sleep. Shasta and Romeo were dosing within minutes.
Robin, however, kept her eyes fixed on Tisana, watching the healer as she went about her work. "What's it like to be a healer?" The pup asked, her voice raspy.

Tisana smiled warmly. "Fun. Hard work, but it's fun work. You get to help your pack in more ways than one. You speak to our ancestors, and you heal your packmates. It makes you feel important. Without healers, whole packs would be wiped out, and we would have no way of communication with our ancestors."
(Are we looking at a potential neophyte here?)

(Yup ) Robin nodded with seriousness, though inside, the youn pup was bursting with excitement. Speaking to their ancestors? Woah. She bet no plain warriors could do that! And they might pretend to be fierce, but according to Tisana, they were useless without a healer! Basically, warriors sucked. XD

Tisana smiled again. "I really do love my job in the pack. I hated being cooped up as a warrior. Being a warrior sucks." XD

"They think they're all big and strong! They'd be nowhere without a healer!" Robin agreed. She went into a rather violent coughing fit. Eventually, her tiny pink nose starting to drizzle out blood. "Ouch..."

Tisana had a look of concern on her face. "Here." she took a peice of cobweb and wiped Robin's nose. "We don't want you to look bad. Now try to sleep, please." She pushed a few poppyseeds toward Robin.

Robin nodded and licked up the seeds gingerly. The young, brown and red-colored pup soon fell into an uneasy, disturbed sleep. She twitched and whimpered softly. Shasta and Romeo were behaving similarly. Raven, however, was stone still. Her body didn't move and inch, just layed there. The beautiful, sleek, black fae's dark brown eyes were closed with a slumber that would never again be broken. There was no more shudders, no more chills, no more anything. Her pups rested close to her, unaware that their mother had passed on to another life. Soot, Raven's mate, had been unaware that Raven was sick. Raven hadn't wanted to burden him. A small, slow trickled of crimson drippped down from the fallen warrior's mouth, staining the stone floor. In the stain, a message was written for the healer:
"One moon and a half." the bloody words read. It's meaning was most shadowed.

Tisana's eyes widened. She bowed her head in greif. Then she looked up again. "One moon and a half?" she thought aloud. What did it mean. She sighed. It was a troubled, fitfull sigh. She looked out of her den as she heard a wolf cry in pain. Sylvana. She got up, checking on the pups one more time. She thought on it and picked them up, each one by one. She put them in a different nest, snuggled with one of the hot rocks. The rock's warmth had faded slightly. It would be like their mother's warmth. She would bring Raven outside later. She grabbed a few herbs and dashed out of her den, the words still ringing in her head. She would seek guidence later.
