It was not a particularly awful day or anything, what with it being the hottest of seasons and all that, but who cares? The Heavens seemed, quite suddenly, and in a very concentrated manner, to cloud over and then darken above the Siverian camp until the storm clouds could very well have been a chunk of night lurking about in the daytime. A realm away, the once Grey Mist alpha Destiny rocked back and forth, cackling madly to herself. It was a dark sort of sound, the noise of one who has truly gone bloody well mad. Maybe she'd resurface someday. Maybe not.
Abruptly, thunder began to clap, rumbling with such great waves of sound that it shook the earth below. There was no accompanying rain, but within minutes it had become near continuous, and then it happened - The sky seemed to split without effort as a great streak of light shot down through it, pounding into a large tree a short distance from the Siverian camp within minutes. As the dark clouds dispersed as quickly as they had appeared, the tree's branches crackled, leaves turning to ash as flames licked hungrily down its trunk, spreading to nearby undergrowth.
Far above, Destiny continued to cackle like an old witch. That'll teach 'em.
[ Woooo forest fire. None of us (on at the time we all decided to do this) had dead Sivvy's so. xD ]

Siveria swapped Destiny over the back of the head. "You know, you could kill somebody!" But her stern expression quickly morphed into a slew of giggles. "Ah, well, they needed the excercise."

Griffin tossed and turned fitfully in his sleep. He'd had such a good night with Yuriko, he didn't see why he should be having such terribly nightmares and such a hard time getting an ounce of rest. He sighed heavily in frustration, and groggily stood to stretch. Careful not to wake any others sleeping around him, he padded out into the main camp to get some air. But the air that met him was not at all refreshing; it was tainted with the foul stench of fire. That's strange... His vision seemed curiously foggy. He blinked rapidly to rid the last wisps of sleep from his eyes, but to no avail. Alarmed, Griffin's ears perked and he scanned the clearing with his fur standing on end. He leaped nimbly atop a large pile of stones near the middle of the camp, peering out over the nearby forest. Fearfully close to the camp, and orange blaze flared across a stretch of woodland. Immediately, Griffin sent out a warning howl to wake his packmates. "FOREST FIRE! EVERYBODY UP! THERE'S A FIRE!"

Yuriko woke to the sound of Griffin’s warning. She bound out of the dens coughing against the harsh air. Her ears pinned to her head as she searched out her friend. “GRIFFIN?!” She yipped out her eyes stinging lightly as they cleared the sleep out.
Nero pawed his head low. /Where were they going to go?/ He wondered silently to himself. The large brute slunk though camp heading to where he knew he would be safe. “THE LAKE!” He braked out to the pack. He may have only been new but he had been around long enough to know the land.

"Holy..." Shaw, woken up by Griffin's cries, stared at the rapidly spreading fire.
"Blink! Get up, get up!"
"Sheesh, Shaw, you'd think you could at least give me some sleep for on-" Blink stopped, the fire reflected in her eyes. "...You know, bro, don't even bother with the told you so's. Let's just get out of here."
They fled. ---
Nectar yelped as she awoke to a landscape of heat and flame. She added her voice to the growing chorus of warning calls, and then, when the heat grew too much, fled to safer grounds.

Griffin felt a strange mixture of relief and anxiety as he heard Yuriko's voice filtering through the flood of smoke. He leaped from the rock pile and ran to her side, eyes fearful. "We have to get everyone to the lake! I saw most of us get out, but what about Annelise and her pups?"
Just as he said her name, the healer stumbled from her den. Her eyes were searing with soot that clogged her vision no matter how hard she blinked to clear it. In desperation, she padded haphazardly towards the nursery. "Aubrey? Pandora? Eli?"

There was one yip in reply to the calling of the wolf. Eli had been hiding next to the wall, his blue eyes wide with fear. He had never seen fire, and didn't know that it would burn you if you touched it. So he, out of sheer curiousity, had stuck a paw in it. If you looked at his front right paw, it was curled up against his small frame, and a look of complete horror, and pain twisted his face into an almost demonic looking mask. Was that his mom? He hoped it was. Mom? M--mom! What's happening? His tiny voice carried out, his lungs screaming for air. It was a wonder he didn't suffocate right there, and then.
--
The white female had been asleep, but as the smoke drifted into her nostrils, her sheer blue eyes snapped open. What the... Alba got to her slender columns, and looked around with wide eyes. She hadn't been here very long, and now the whole world was burning to the ground around her. Fear didn't set in, for the wolf was next to emotionless. A blank slate. Nothing to read, and nothing to be known about her, unless she told you herself. Turning her head curiously to the right, she saw the healer pad toward the burning dens. Since she was indeed a pack member, she decided to offer her help. Her columns carried her easily toward her pack mate, and her emotionless lyrics spilled from her maw, and filled the air with her sweet lyrics. Would you like some help?[/color] She asked softly, her sheer blue gaze on the healer.
