"Aye, okay, Mist. We'll wait here." Akane started grooming down his dark red fur. "I wonder where the packs are heading to. What about you Aimi, do you know?"
Aimi twitched her ears in annoyance. "If I did know, I would tell you. But no, I don't." She sat down and had her tail sit neatly over her paws.

Ari's auds pricked when he heard running paws. His head turned, so that his good eye saw what was happening. His heart raced. It looked like Tundra but it was from a distance. Ari shook his head and continued after Mist, ears laying back against his skull. No. Tundra had disappeared along with Desel nearly a moon ago. It was just another wolf.

Seren bounded unsteadily over to her father and siblings, snugling close to them.
Mist sat, tail twitching with the effort of sitting still. Her paws were screaming at her to get up and pace, but she remained calm and rigid. "When was the last time any of you saw Rain?" She asked, wondering exactly how long the alphess had been missing.

Azari thought it over for a moment, narrowing his eyes in thought. He lookedo ver at Mist again and saw her restlessness and smiled calmly. "It's alright to worry Mist. I think you have good reason. I haven't seen Rain in several moons, not since before the BloodMist battle, if even then."

Dusk nodded at Ari's response. "Yes. And the last meeting she held in White Mist camp", he barked calmly. Rain could not have wondered far...is she had...why?
Tundra arrived and shook snow from her pelt. She ignored the looks that the wolves gave her. Using her tail to brush her son closer to her. Maple lowered her head and let out a snarl. Tundra looked at her and bared her fangs letitng out a loud bark, the fur around her neck rose as she didnt consit anything with her pups. She nudged Desel foward and looked around for Ari and Nova.

Nova sighed out of boredom and laid with her head on her paws, tail thumping softly against the snow impatiently. Without her father around it was chilly, even with her thick sterling coat highlighted with darker streaks the same ashy-black color as Ari's. Nova watched the snow create a fine layer over her, making her fur look pale grey.

Raku shook his head."I have not seen the femme for at least four or so moons."Maybe it was time Mist faced facts.She needed to take over leadership of the pack.Rain was gone.

Tundra picked up her gaze, and made sure Desel was infront of her. Crimson gaze landed on a female pup. A smile curled her lips and she stepped foward letting her black nose touch her head lightly. Last she'd seen Nova was when she was only a new born pup. Desel rolled over in the snow and sniffed over Nova carefully. "HI! Im Desel!", he barked happily and looked up at Tundra. "Momma is this Nova?", he barked and looked at his sister with exited eyes.

Mist nodded. "That meeting was a few weeks back, then." She sighed, relaxing a bit. "I'm just worried. I can't formally take up any leadership untill we find a substitue for the Mirror Stone, or untill the pack accepts Rains is gone...." She frowned, thinking hard. "I'll stick to my promise of one week. If dhe doesn't turn up by then, I think we all know it's a little ridiculous to assume she will."

Raku smiled."I think we all know she is not coming back.But a promise is a promise.And to keep one you are an honourable wolf."His words held little meaning to himself.But maybe they would give Mist some encouragement.

Nova looked up at the new wolves and growled warningly. She'd inheritated a taste of Ari's wary nature. Springing to her paws, Nova bounded over to Azari, nearly cannoning into one of his legs. Azari looked down in suprise as his daughter sat under him. He glanced at Mist. "Sorry" Ari murmured to the ivory femme. "Well, if Rain doesn't appear when we cross the mountains at lastest, you'll have to take over the pack. We'll need a leader in our new home but don't worry, there are wolves here willing to support you." Azari gave Mist a meaningful look though it was dulled somewhat by his single foggy eye, it was still a supportive look.

Mist nodded. "Thank you for your advice, all of you. You should eat and rest. We'll start again in the morning." With that, the reassured beta adjourned the meeting and nodded her thanks to Azari. She padded over to her mate and pups, nuzzling them lovingly.

SIghing, Azari picked up Nova by her scruff and padded over to the outskirts of the pack and laid down in an indent in the snow. Nova curled up next to her father and put her head against his side. Azari curled around the pup and sighed, simply watching the pack. He looked like a smear of soot in the sea of ice and snow.

Raku nodded and padded off to hunt.It was not long before the brute caught a hare.Which he quickly scarfed down.Then began to hunt for the pack.Perhaps a deer could be found.

Finally Flower caught up with everyone. It took a while but only if she makes it then it would be O.K. with everybody. Now that she saw everyone and with everyone, she just walked. |
