Nova's lithe tri-colored form wove through the Willow Woods, sapphire orbs staring into space and paying little attention to her surroundings. Nova rarely spoke anymore and not many wolves bothered to approach her or try to talk to her anymore. Everybody usually just kept their distance or muttered words she didn't care about as she passed. Among the neophytes she was probably the most boring of them all, compared to some of the others whom were more active. Why should she bother? No one in the pack cared. Azari had been the only one that had cared. Not even Tundra or Desel cared. They hadn't even cared enough to stay! Tundra had left Ari with a broken heart and he'd wound up dying with one. So much for a loving mate and mother. Nova snorted bitterly at the mere idea of the mother she mirrored.
Tundra and Desel were only two of the problems that pleuged Nova's unfortunate mind. She was all alone now. All alone in a crowded camp, in a terra full of prey and packmates, anywhere. She felt alone. Distant. Foreign. Why did she stay? Why should she give her life to wolves that didn't even care? No one cared in the end...They were all the same....
Nova stopped at the bank of a narrow, shallow rippling stream and stood staring down at the river rocks at the bottom of the stream. She simply stared at her partcial reflection. Why should she stay? Why not leave? Why not....?

Reason was feeling a little better and her shape was comming back. Her cough was lessoning aswell. She felt up for a hunt. Her ribs still showed clearly through her skin. She had her pearls buired in the flesh of a sparrow that she had caught. She spotted Nova and tried to look through Nova's mind. It only came up that she was thinking about those who she cared for that left by death or on thier own. She padded over to her. She was older than Nova. She sat down by her side. Her red-brown pelt still fairly dull. She put the sparrow down and offered it to Nova, "I know how you feel," she woofed sadly. She ran her paws through the stream, removing the dirt that was coated on the pads.

Nova shot an icy blue glare at Reason. Who the heck was this? Nova was nearing warrior age, born in the old homeland but she still didn't know all of her packmates. That was a little sad but then again, thinking of how Nova's recent frame of mind had been off somewhere else it wasn't too surprising. Just a little disheartening. "Who the heck do you think you are saying you know how I feel?" Nova growled, Tundra's sharp temper making a rise in her daughter. While she usually carried Azari's cool, recluse personality, she was on edge and frustrated, drowning in her own misery and loneliness. It would make anyone a little snappish. The wolf smelled like the sickness but the scent seemed to be fading. It was odd. Nova had thought there was no cure and had carefully avoided the ill wolves though she by no means ignored them. They just usually didn't ask for her help. Not that anyone in the pack looked her way nowadays.

"Calm down Nova. My name is Reason, I had a tiwn named Rhyme until she was slain in battle. I stopped eating, stopped sleeping, and caught a bad case of the desiese, and I was planning on leaving the pack. " she woofed back. Her blue eyes looked at her with a gentle, knowing gaze. She ignored the harsh, icy glare from Nova. She missed her twin, how they could read one another's minds, "I used to be able to read her mind and she mine, now I've expanded to being able to read many people's minds, thats how I knew what you were thinking, I can only read your mind vaugly though," she woofed. The she removed her paws from the stream and nosed the sparrow closer to the elderly neophyte.

A silvery, light and soot grey, ebony and blueish femmora emerged from the brush on the other side of the river bank. Her ice blue pools gazed across the small river at Nova. Not really paying Reason any attention. The long, wide scar across her left eye had been left by her mother, Destiny, on her death bed. It was a reminder of who Akaira was, wether she liked it or not. Akaira was mid-neophyte age. Born in the old territorys on the night before the departure. She was around nine, ten moons now.

Nova growled in frustration. Was it so hard to be left to her misery? Apparently so. "Well I really couldn't care less if I tried. As far as twins go if I ever see mine again I'll skin him alive and leave him for the crows to pick at. Same for my good for nothing mother." The femme rose to her paws, tail twitching in irritation and the anger that always boiled up when she thought about her mother and brother, lip curled in dislike at the idea of Tundra and Desel coming back. Good for nothing traitors. Wading into the stream, Nova intended on heading along the path that would probably lead her out of the packlands and away from the litte mind-reading pest. Then again, Nova thought of everyone as a pest nowadays. She was just bitter and sad really but like Tundra, her emotions came out the wrong way.

"Go, if you like," she woofed. Reason only wanted to talk to her. Try to make her see reason.

Akaira stepped from the bank. Wading into the stream. She halted several feet from Nova. "I won't say I know how you feel. Everyone feels differently. But I know what it's like to have no parents. My father was dead when I was born. I don't even know who he is. My mother, Destiny was killed by my fangs in an accident. She left me a reminder of who I am. My brother Loni is a killer, a danger to wolves everywhere. My other brother, Rapier, has not spoken to me since before Destiny's death. I live in a pack of foreign wolves. No one approahces me or cares enough to say hi. I do know what it's like to be alone."

"What does it take to make this pack of idiots see what's in front of their noses?!" Nova barked angrily, spinning around to glare at Akaira. "You're no better then the rest of them even if you think you are. So what if your dad was already dead? At least you didn't know him! It doesn't make a difference to you! My mother not only favored my brother but she took him and abandoned my dad! He died saving an alphess to a pack that wound up not caring and didn't even bother looking for his killer! Nobody else will so I will!" Turning away from them, Nova padded onto the other bank and shook her damp fur.

"Akaira, I was the one who stood up for you when you were a pup and exiled remember?" she woofed. Reason insited on giving Nova the sparrow, "If you do go Nova, take the sparrow and you can eat iton the way, where ever you travel," she woofed and ran the sparrow through the water to clean it.

The shimmering saphires of a lost soul glistened. Soon the bulky form of a brute was visable. The brute padded to Nova's side and murmured. "There you are..." His velvet voice was smooth and clear, and unlike last time they met his eyes were not glazed with devistation.

Nova nearly leapt out of her fur when the brute she'd met in the Jewel Caverns appeared by her side like some large oddly colored ghost. Nova spun around to face him, eyes wide with surprise and her jaw dropped. "Ameral!" Nova barked, totally shocked.

Ameral's tail slashed from side to side in response. "Mmhmm." he said simply. "Nova," he acknowledged. "I think... I think I owe you something." he paused to search her expression then continued. "I-I'm going to search for your father's murderer..." he said nervously. "I.. I just thought I owed you that much... for what you did." he murmured.

Nova's brain was frozen in shock, thoughts brought to a screeching halt and total surprise adding to her surprise of Ameral's sudden arrival. She was well aware that there was an audiance but couldn't quite bring herself to care. "Ameral, you don't owe me anything" Nova murmured, touching his muzzle lightly. "This fight is mine. Azari was my father, it's my responsability to find his killer, not get you killed too. That wouldn't be fair." Or tolarable Nova thought. Another dead wolf...another wolf I care about. No. I won't let it happen.

He shook his head. "Nova, I won't let you get yourself killed." he growled with care. "We're a team, we can do this... together." he said in a clear voice. He touched his nose to hers and smiled. He slashed his tail warning her not to argue. No matter what she said, he was going with her.
