"It would frighten some wolves" Atem said calmly, almost thoughtfully. "But...I've seen my share of true insanity and bloodlust, the kind that can't be healed. Compared to them you're as harmless as a rabbit to me." Atem still bore scars, both physical and emotional. His nightmares were painted with pictures of harmless pups being slaughtered, faes being forced then killed, his own attacker trying and failing to kill him. Atem knew insanity. He knew bloodlust and hate. Compared to them, Serra was perfectly sane and as harmless as a newborn.

Serra smirked for a moment. Then thought his words over more carefully. "Sounds like you had a rough puphood." She remarked calmly. "My uncle didn't really try to save my fathers life. Then he pretended to be my father. Then he tried to kill my mother, my aunt, my sister, my sisters mate and me. He was completely insane. He killed because he loved to watch others in pain. Loved the taste of fresh blood on his fangs. Especially, human blood." Seera shivered with a sudden thirst that she had forgotten about when she mentioned human blood. She had been born to the taste of blood in her maw. Human and wolf.

Atem looked away from Serra. "My family...was killed. One by one, painfully, for fun. I nearly died with them, I should have but a Destinian saved me. I live only to repay that debt, someday with my life." Atem knew it probably seemed odd considering the wolf that had saved and raised him was long dead but still, the debt had to be paid plus, he had nowhere else to go. His family were all dead. Each one had been slain before young innocent eyes, eyes that were no longer innocent.

A slight symptahy glimmered in her pools for a moment. Lightening the darkness somewhat. "That's too bad.About your family." The femme paused. Wondering what to say. For a few moments she walked on in silence."My life was centered around revenge for a long time. But my sister wanted the same revenge I did , and she got there first.I ended up nearly going completely insane. FIrst my dead uncle, then my other aunt both tried to call me to the dark side." The words caught in her throat. Lucky for me, my father came...

"Someone's always there to catch you" Atem murmured, thinking back to the old Destinian bearer that had raised him, tried to get him off of thinking of revenge or hatred. It had worked to an extent. Atem sighed softly. Why had he just told his history to a stranger? He usually spoke one or two words in a whole conversation but now he was actually having a conversation with a femme nonetheless. It seemed odd yet not totally unwelcome. Turning his head, Atem breathed in. The strangest scent came to him, the lingering scent of summer. The scent of a Twilight wolf, lingering unseen.

Serra smiled at this. The darkness of her mood ifting almost completely now. Atem was a wise wolf, truly. Slightly she turned her crown towards him. His scent was ... delicious. She realized he was scenting the air too at that moment. Tilting her head slightly she scented the air again. Sapphire's flicked too and fro. Kojo was nearby now. Lingering somewhere. Why in the name of Hellfire was she telling so much to a complete stranger anyway? Though his presence did... entice her a bit.
Thite continued to gnaw at the deer hungrily.
Yoru yipped softly.

Sunblaze blinked at Yoru's yipping. Blinking sleepily, the young mother looked at her pups. Akani whined softly, squirming next to her. Sierra whimpered, pawing blindly at Yoru.
Atem breathed in again, closing his eyes, standing still now. A wolf from Twilight was here but why? It seemed a mystery to him though he could guess. Were the fallen trying to push him toward Serra. Opening his eyes again, Atem looked at Serra, meeting her gaze though his showed curiousity and a hint of confusion.

Sapphire pools held his gaze. Confusion and curiousity were in his eyes. Then he could smell Kojo? Understanding glimmered in her own pools now. Another Twilight Scnet drifted to her maw but it dosa[[eared as quickly as it had come. Her mother, Faith. Serra thought she heard something on the wind. But it must have ben a trick of her ears. Still... Happiness is in togetherness.. where had she heard that before?
Yoru whimpered as Sierra pawed at her. The femme's own paws moved in Sierra's direction.

Atem caught the scent of a femme though it had the same summer-scent as the other. Wolves. Fallen wolves running together. Atem's eyes drifted out over the wilderness. Was his pack together? Were they running with him, waiting for him to join them? Why keep them waiting...? Other then a debt of his life to a wolf already dead nothing really bound Atem to the pack, nor really his life....Atem's amber eyes darkened with his thoughts, eyes narrowing slightly.

Serra flicked her auds. Tilting her head slightly. "What's wrong?" SHe had noticed his pools darkening. Was he angry> Frustrated?Sad? Like... her? Hopefully not the last one. A strange spirit drifted around her. SHe did not recognize the scent completely. But it was Destinian wolf. Maybe even Destiny herself.

Atem looked over at Serra. Darkness still fringed his gaze though he did his best to push it back. "Nothing" he said softly. It was a plain lie but oh well. She wouldn't care enough to pursue the fact. As soon as she left he could contemplate what he would do. Recently he had felt cold and empty, even more recluse then usual, reflecting on how he should have died with his pack rather then be the lucky survivor.

Serra's sapphire pools remained on him. The mud beneath her paws had hardened somewhat and now it was soft dirt. A chilly winter breeze began to blow. Her shoulders tensed as the cold wind buffeted her form. For a second she scented the air.The scent from the Destinian Territory was getting stronger. They had some time yet though. "That's a lie. How stupid do you think I am?" Her tone was calm, soft, kind but with a hint of shadow in it.

"Well last I checked, I don't have to speak the truth to wolves I don't know" Atem barked coolly, amber eyes steely and cold as he began walking toward the Destinian border again. For some reason, his heart tightened uncomfortably when he snapped at the dark femme. She meant well but still, Atem couldn't help but find it odd that he'd spilled his past to a femme he didn't even know anything about, except that her name was Serra and she had also told her past.

A low snarl erupted from her maw. Then she quickly reined herself in. "Sorry about that. I'm being rude. SOmetimes I have trouble controlling my curiousity. And my temper." There was a harshness too her tone. Annoyance by his response had triggered it. She closed her cold stone like pools for a moment. Relying on her other senses. Calm yourself Serra. Control the anger. You are stronger then the anger. It does not control you, you control it. She said this to herself several times. Finally she opened her pools again. The tenseness in her form had disappeared. The coldness in her eyes replaced by a calm peacefulnesses. Suddenly she let out a low cry. "Damn it!" She cursed herself angrily for not paying attention to the ground. Raising her front left paw she examined the pad. Her left leg was covered in scars. Most of them by her foot and on her lower leg. There was a small , sharp stone in her pad. She wouldn't be able to get it out herself. She was much too clumsy and would probably shove it farther in. SHe growled in frustration.

Atem averted his eyes from the dark she-wolf as she growled. She could growl all she wanted, Atem wasn't intimidated by femmes. He didn't blame her for being impatient with him but then again, what did she know about him? Atem's ears flicked in frustration but was startled from his thoughts when Serra let out a snarl. Turning his head he found the femmora standing a few paces back, looking at stone lodged in her paw. A soft sigh, unheard by Serra, escaped the brujo's lips as he turned and padded back to her, moonlight rippling over his pelt. Bowing his head the brute carefully gripped the stone between two of his longer fangs and pulled the stone from her pad, tossing the stone aside. Looking back at the paw, he licked the wound, cleaning a bit of dirt out of the small wound. "If you put your paw in the snow the cold will help stop any bleeding" Atem said in his usual calm, mysterious tones.
