Sing Me to Sleep (DESTINY!)

[Ärï]

Sunblaze laid in a small cave on the bank of the Shanti River. She had been here for a while, ever since her pregnancy had neared its final stages. Her belly was rounded, an unusual sight for the small red-gold she-wolf. Now, Sun was laying at the very back of the cave, panting as pain spasmed through her belly, muscles cramping uncomfortably. No whines of pain escaped her, nor tears. The young mother laid in the cool darkness of the cave and waited, time passing slowly. The beat of her heart and rush of blood in her ears was the only sound she heard apart from her panting. The time was coming fast and Sunblaze just hoped she was ready.

Twilight fell outside the cave and Sunblaze remained where she had been hours before though more wolves had joined her. Young wolves, barely visible as they suckled at her belly. The three balls of fluff were her pups, all females. The three pups nursed quietly while their mother laid with topaz eyes half open, somewhere between sleep and unconciousness. She felt heavy, more tired then she'd been in a moon but happy, content, peaceful. Her pups were beautiful. Yoru. Akani. Sierra. Her daughters.

[Destiny]

The crunch of half frozen snow echoed through the terra as his massive snowy paws left their mark. The roar of the Shanti River was somewhat peaceful this day. His pelt was a pinkish snow in the orangish twilight. Handsome form weaved between brush and trees as he made his way to his beloved. Well toned muscles rippled beneath Thite's fur as he shook some snow from it. Pausing he scented the air once more. To make sure he was correct. He was. The scent of milk was fresh in the air. The pups had been brought into life. He could go to his family now.

(Yoru)

Sunblaze heard paws outside the den but she was still in her daze. The fae moved her head tiredly and out of instinct curled her tail over the little pups bundled next to her. She knew the approaching wolf wasn't dangerous, nor were they harmful. If anything it was probably Serra or Thite. Sunblaze sighed softly, eyes drifting closed. Either way, she didn't have too much energy left but she did hope Thite would come soon though she still worried. Would the pups not be good enough? What if he had run off when she'd taken to the den to have the pups? So many what if's wondered in the young mother's mind....

[Destiny]

Sapphire pools danced over his children and mate in a moment. They were all beautiful and perfect. The snowy brute made his way over to them. Silently settling his form down opposite Sunblaze. Now the pups lay between the two parents. A huge smile spread across the new father's maw. He had three beautiful daughters and on beautiful mate. Thite gave Sunblaze a loving lick on the muzzle. "They're lovely sweetheart."He assured her.

Yoru's tiny maw suckled from her mother. The milk was delicious and warm. The little fae's pelt was a duxky brown with slight hints of reddish orange. With age it would be just like her mother's and grandfathers. Her pools would one day be two beautiful topaz's. Glimmering brightly.

[Ärï]

Sunblaze stirred sleepily as Thite licked her muzzle. Tired topaz eyes opened to see her mate laying near her and a smile curled on Sunblaze's slender maw. Reaching forward she laid her head on one of his large paws. "I'm glad you like them" she murmured softly.

Akani was like Thite, pure white though gold flecked her pelt here and there with red giving her a slight tint. When her eyes opened they would be beautiful sapphire blue. Laying beside her was the smallest pup, Sierra. Sierra was an exact copy of her mother, small, golden-red and would someday have pools of liquid toapz.

"Where is Serra?" Sunblaze asked sleepily, breathing in her mate's scent. "She should meet her nieces."

[Destiny]

Thite gently began to groom Sunblaze's golden pelt. His pools scanned over his pups. The smallest was an exact copy of her mother. Beautiful golden pelt. The second was a snowy white like himself. But she had golden tints to her pelt. The third was a dusky brown color with reddish orange tints. "She was hunting last I saw her. I'm sure she'll be here some time soon. Probably dragging some carcass behind her." Thite chuckled quietly at the sight of Seera attacking a huge buck. That had been something too watch all right.

Yoru shouldered past Sierra. Moving closer to her mother. The milk was delicious. The warm scent of her mother was obvious and well known to her by now. There were other scents too. That of her siblings was most familier too her. She felt the warm fur of Sierra next to her. There was another scent though. A male scent. Her father?

"What are our darling's names my dearest?" Thite's voice was a calm happy melody.

[Ärï]

Sierra let out a soft whine as Yoru disrupted her suckling. Sunblaze turned her head and used her nose to adjust the three daughters. "Shh my little ones" Sunblaze murmured, "There's room for you all." Sunblaze licked the head of each little one and turned back to her mate. "The brown pup is Yoru. The white pup is Akani and minnie me is Sierra." Sunblaze rested her head once more on her mate's paw, ears pricking. She could hear another wolf approaching and the scent was familiar. It seemed Serra was on her way after all. Sunblaze tensed a little. At first Serra had been unhappy at Sunblaze's pregnancy. How would she react now that the pups were actually there?

[Destiny]

Thite rested his crown on top of Sunblaze's Careful not too put any weight on her. "Stop worrying SUnblaze. it'll all turn out just fine." His tone was reassuring. No doubt she was worrying about what Serra would think. Or perhaps about wether or not the pups would survive.

There was a strange feeling on her head as her mother licked her. Yoru shied slightly away from Sunblaze's tounge. Yipping quietly.

Serra's large form made it's way along the riverbank. Paws and lower legs sunk deep into the muddy snowy substance at the river's edge. Sapphire pools glanced over her surroundings.

[Ärï]

Akani whined and yipped, pawing blindly at Sierra. Sierra whined and burrowed closer to her mother, nipping her mother's stomach. Sunblaze jumped slightly as small milk-fangs nipped at her belly. "Spirited little group" Sunblaze mumbled, using her tail to brush Sierra's head away from her belly a little so the pup would stop biting. "I'm sure they'll be daddy's little girls." Sunblaze smiled. Even though Kojo had never been with her, Sunblaze had always been a daddy's girl. In the end so had Serra considering neither had really been with Faith. Serra fell in between but was finding the light.

Outside the den, sitting silent guardian, Kojo watched the family within. His eyes raised to look toward Serra, visible only to her. His amber eyes smoldered with pride and love as he met his daughter's sapphire gaze.

[Destiny]

Serra paused as she met her fathers gaze. A smile crossed her maw. The femme moved away from the riverbank and towards Kojo. Serra halted several feet from him.She shrugged the remains of the medium sized doe to the ground. 'good to see you father." her words were but a whisper.

Yoru slipped as she moved away from Sierra and Akani. the pup let out a little squel as she hit the ground.

Thite smiled slightly. he gave Yoru an affectionate lick on the crown. Carefully he moved the pup back towards the warmth of her mother's belly. Thite perked his auds at the scent of Serra and fresh killed prey.

[Ärï]

"Go eat with Serra" Sunblaze murmured. "I'm going to try to sleep." Sunblaze licked Thite's muzzle. Though she was starving, she was more tired then hungry. Sunblaze laid her head on the ground and curled her tail around her pups to keep them from trying to move away without her noticing. With Thite and Serra nearby, Sunblaze knew she wouldn't have to worry.

Kojo inclined his head to Serra, smiling gently. Rising on silent paws, Kojo padded to Serra and touched his muzzle to her forehead before mist rose from the river and the brute vanished with a soft ghostly chuckle floating on the breeze for Serra's ears alone.

[Destiny]

Thite smiled lovingly at his mate. He gave her aud a tender lick. "Thanks. I won't be far." Rising Thite gave each of his daughters a loving lick. Then, the brute turned his snowy form and disappeared through the dens entrance.

Serra smiled. Her auds perked at the light sound if her fathers laugh as he disappeared into the mist. Returning too the Twilight Realm.

The dark form of an ebony brute padded along the Shanti River. He smelled pups near and a small smile curled on the brute's maw. Young wolves in winter. A rare thing. Sighing, Atem padded down the bank of the river, moonlight highlighting his dark fur. Balancing his weight on his hunches, Atem began crossing the river. Other wolves were around the nearby den. Best to keep out of the way. He wasn't really in the mood to fight.

Sunblaze sighed and curled around her pups. Soon enough her sister would meet the pups. Whatever her reaction was, Sunblaze would take it. Thite loved the pups as much as she did, that was enough for her.

[Destiny]

(Sounds good.)

Yoru snuggled closer to her mother as her fathers tounge rasped over her head delicately. The wamrth that radiated from her siblings and mother was a great comfort to her.

Thite ripped a large chunk of meat from the small buck's shoulder. Gnawing on it hungrily. This would be a very good meal. Fresh killed and the buck had been healthy too. He smiled a wolfish smile at Serra. Suddenly he jerked his head towards the river. A quite snarl ripped insinctively from his throat and maw. It escaped but then he silenced himself. Taking in the brute.

Serra began to rip ravenously at the bucks torso. It was delectible. Suddenly she perked her auds. The sound of pawsteps reaching her. Then a snarl ripped from Thite's maw. Scenting the air Serra recognized the wolf as a brute. Interesting. Turning Serra eyed the new wolf. Instinctively she swiped her tounge over her maw. Cleaning off the fresh blood. Then rose as if to move towards him.

[Ärï]

The soft snarling drew Atem's eyes to the group. A brute and two faes, plus the smell of pups. Atem blinking at them silently, his shadowy bulk casting a long black shadow over the icy river. His tail hung loosely between his hind legs showing he meant no harm and really didn't care that the others were there. The smell of buck didn't draw him to them. He wasn't hungry at the moment. A recent hare had calmed his hunger. Stealing prey from a new family wasn't Atem's style in any case. Looking away, Atem continued padding toward the oppisate side of the Shanti River.

Kojo appeared to Serra, striding beside the brute, invisible to Atem but visible to Serra.
