The night was crisp and clear, the sky above a blanket of royal blue. A soft breeze rustled the grasses and trees. A great sigh could be heard from the wildlife, as if the plants and greenery were carrying a burden much too heavy for their delicate figures. No moon glowed in the sky above, but the stars were shimmering with all of their passion and glory. They glinted like rouge diamonds cut from the sun, intently watching the forest below with their slitted glares. Wolf scent wafted heavy and thick from the territories surrounding the clearing. Countless pawsteps were padding across a well-trodden path, to yet another gathering of the packs. But tonight was different than the past meetings of the mountain valley. Tonight was a pivotal moment in the history of wolven kind. Tonight was everything. The clearing waited, the breeze stopping abruptly as it held its breath with the rest of the silent world.

Since his death the alpha had been different. Forever altered by the unforgivable destruction of her heart and her love. Somehow, though, she had managed to pull herself together. Or at least it seemed that she had. Aliya knew that tonight would be a turning point in the history of the packs, or at least, that's what she felt it would be. Something would happen at this Moonless Meeting. But that was just instinct, and the fact that the few wolves who walked at her sides were unsettled helped with the theory.
Sterling fae was at right side of her alpha. Optics of fiery ice glancing to and fro. Tassel lashing wickedly and irritatedly. Svel should be back at camp with her pups, but there was something up with Aliya, and she felt that she should be around to find out what it was. And to know what happened at this meeting.I wonder if that brute will be here... The thought was swiftly dismissed.

Fireflight padded at Aliya's other side, fiery pelt standing out stark among the collection of silvers, grays, and other shades of wolven. She, too, was worried about Aliya, but then again, the alphess hadn't seemed quite in her sorts since she'd assumed her current ranking. Who could blame her, really? Her mind shifted swiftly from Aliya to other things as a fresh wind brought the scents of oncoming Sheerans. Tonight, the wolves watching from star-crafted perches in the sky would begine to draw forth the blood to write a new prophecy. The stirrings in the forest were dark ones, and now, in the darkest night Fireflight could recall, they were more pronounced and clear than ever. War was approaching like the swift tide of the Nuka River, cutting through her homeland terra as the rising blood would cut through the hearts, flesh, and lives of so many. As her golden gaze lingered on the Sheeran and Yozoran slopes, the cold, trickle of regret and sorrow pooled in the hollows of her heart. These were loyal, refined, respectable pack wolves. There was no denying that. The only difference between her own set of paws and theres was that their interests were not the same as their own. Even if everyone took their neighbors into consideration, they could never really understand the extent of any foreign event unless they were a witness to it. And even then, one would have to do some studying beforehand, collecting reasons, and the feelings of the surrounding wolves, to truly have a figure of how deep these events, complications breached. And there was no way they could survive this way. The packs were meant to be the way the Golden Wolf crafted them. The intense observation and collective peace, understanding, came when a wolf passed into death. Appreciation washed over Fireflight as she finally managed to look away. That is why wolves die. Because everyone deserves this peace of mind. We just can't reach it until we've proven we are ready for it. She twitched with sudden unease. I know I'm a deep thinker, but I'm really not ready to die yet, so don't mistake these revelations for suicide letters, she willed some spirit above, watching, to hear and understand. In return, a star flickered, almost saying that they understood. Shrugging, Fireflight continued into the clearing.
A sudden stirring cued the other wolves in the clearing to the arrival of the Sheeran alphess and her pack. She seemed slimmer than usual, and expelled a dull shine compared to her usual sheen and shimmer. Her dearest son, Owen, was directly behind her, followed by other members of the pack, including the new warriors Winter and Rye. She glanced once, wistfully around the loose and small grouping of wolves, then stood on the Mirror Stone, awaiting the other leaders.

The figure of the brute Silas, snowy in shade, entered the clearing not far behind Aliya. Optics glittered and he tilted his crown, searching for Kiki, his mentor. But was she more then that to him? That was a definite.
Vetra Vaticana slipped into the clearing at her brother, Silas, side. The fae looked sort of lost amoung the Destinians. Strange, even. She hoped that Sabela had made a decision on wether or not she would be allowed to join the Siverians. Originally she was supposed to be a Destinian spy, but now... Now she just wanted to find the place that could be her home.
Pyre and Zethro entered the clearing a little behind their alpha, Mist. Both brutes, though Zethro looked much healthier then Pyre, were skinnier then what was their usual. Pyre's eyes were tired and his pelt dull and Zethro's didn't shimmer like it usually did.
Aliya glanced to Fireflight, then turned her head, searching for her new beta. Sighing, as Toss did not seem to present, or perhaps she was just missing him, the alpha padded towards the Mirror Stone. Aliya's pelt shimmered with health, and her eyes glimmered with life, but the alpha was getting on in moons. Two large litters, most of the pups she hadn't seen in a long time, had worn her out. The slightest nod of acknowledgment was given to Mist as the Destinian alpha took her place upon the Mirror Stone.

((Finally I get to RP as Kunai!!!)) Kunai just walked down to the meeting like everyone else did. He was just one of those people who just knows what to do. Come to the meeting, sit down, wait for the other packs, listen to the leaders, get up off the ground, and then walk back to the main camp. That was basically the list of things to do in every meeting. The only thing that he didn't want happen is all the snarling, barking, and whatever. Ever sense the Sheerians and their little buddy pack always has to have help. He'd just didn't understand that they could have fought the Black Fury's gang on their own. They had their buddy pack to help them and the other two packs don't have to help them once in a while though. That was basically it.

Mist's tail flicked as Aliya nodded to her, and to the watchers' suprise, Mist nodded in return, murmuring the smallest of greetings, "Hello." A simple, expected gesture, but one the wolves of the forest hadn't observed in moons. The Sheerans whispered amongst themselves, then shrugged off Mist's act as something she was doing to be polite before she made her request.
Fireflight glanced around, intending to speak with Silas, but as she attempted to step forward, her paws seemed rooted to the soil. Her senses were suddenly assaulted by a barrage of confusing, tangles information. Something isn't right about the skyline.... Her pelt was completely standing on end, her eyes slitted as she looked out across the forest. It looks.... she searched for the right word, but found only one. ...dead.
Winter stayed close to Vance, still very shaken from the episode with Julian. She flinched at the mere thought of his name. Nightmares. Paranoia. Any wolf who loved another wouldn't have been rough and public like that.
Rye glanced at his sister, eyes weary and exhausted. She, too, looked considerably worn. It was more than just the famine...far more than that for them both. Rye turned away from Winnie, eyes searching the crowd for one wolf, and one wolf only: Anelie, the love of his life, and owner of his heart.

[[WOAH!! WTF? I'M NOT LATE!!! **glee dance** I also lack muse... how is this going to work??]]
The strongest current, the roughest sea, this is what seemed to lash upon the electrifying gaze of the strong alphess. Her gaze sharp, stern almost, for she felt dispute coming. She felt it as though someone had screamed it in her ear in a maddened attempt to stop this. The only problem was, no one had screamed it in her ear, and she her prickling fur only told her that there may or may not be tension in the meeting to come. This worry is ridiculous, yet I cannot let go of the tension I already feel in my paws.. Her thoughts seemed to argue with each other; one side of her knew that tension was growing, yet the other thought it was preposperous to feel that way. She knew she wasn't to make a fuss of it, all she could do was wait and see which side of her won. That could cost someones life... "Preposperous!" she almost screamed, but no it came out a low mutter. Why must you argue with yourself? The thought was not hers, yet it was. Am I mad? This thought was all hers.

The violet femme was at Sabela's left side, standing tall and glaring through purple eyes at the Sheerans that were gathered in the sacred clearing. She slitted her eyes as their apparently polite stance. They were still not nearly as friendly as they used to be at moonless meetings, but it was still a considerable improvement from their former rude attitudes towards the Destinians and Siverians. Shrugging, she continued down into the clearing, gaze flickering around the throng of bodies, searching relentlessly for one. She sighed heavily to herself, tail swaying restlessly. Please come soon, she prayed silently. Please tell me the hunger hasn't harmed you as much as the rest of these poor, gangly creatures.... She looked with pity from one splintering frame of a Sheeran to the next. All of them were starving, it was displayed with painful clarity. So that's why they aren't hostile...they need food.
She spotted the familiar pelt of the foreign, fiery femme that was the Destinian proxy. She padded over to Fireflight, grateful to have even the smallest of distractions from her tangled, warring mess of thought. "Greetings, Fireflight. Has Black Fury made any more passes at your pack?" He voice was low and careful. As an alliance, the packs naturally shared things with each other, but were still reluctant.
Fireflight turned to see Nightshade, inquiring if Black Fury had caused them anymore trouble. She attempted to relaze, but all she could do was dig her well-trained claws into the dirt so her surrounding brethen wouldn't spot them flexing. "Hello, Nightshade. And the answer to your question is no, nothing we couldn't handle," she answered, not hostile, but not completely spilling the happenings with Svel's litter. "We do have a new litter in the camp, though. Carolina had her pups!" She smiled widely, taking pleasure in the fact that this was nothing she and the rest her pack would have to hide.
The beta accepted Fireflight's answer;; it was definitly a reasonable, well-crafted one. She'll make an amazing beta, maybe even leader someday. She knows her stuff.... "Oh, really? That's wonderful! All well and healthy?" Though Iver would forever remain at least in the back of her mind, her thirst for his prescence was momentarily at bay.

Freya entered the clearing with the other Siverians, glancing around at the crowd. All but the Yozorans were there, which she was suprised to see. Usually Light and Mist waited for each other and made a grand entrance as mates. She shuffled her paws uneasily, suddenly feeling pricks of static moving up her spine. Something's not right. There's more here tonight than what we can sense. There are spirits watching us....not from the heavens, but from the edges of this clearing...sitting right next to us-- The thoughts of the young white warrior were sharply severed as she spotted a weak, sickly wolf. He seemed a bit young, but definitly not of the packlands. She moved towards him, eyes wide at his emaciated figure. "Hey! Are you all right? What's your name and how in Twilight's name did you get to be so...slim?" She barked, standing so that if the wolf passed out, she would be able to catch him. The lake is only a few paces away. If I can get him to lie down for a minute, I could see if there are any fish. Twilight's hunting grounds were made for things like this....emergencies.

Freya let out a small gasp as Toboea collapsed. She was able to set him lightly on the ground, as she had caught him as planned. She glanced around the clearing, but none had seemed to have spotted the two. Sighing, and swallowing the panic down, she lifted the wolf onto her shoulders and walked as swift as possible without jostling her burden too terribly much. She gingerly let the wolf down near the banks of the Twilight Lake. Impatiently, she waited at the water's edge, claws flashing and wresting two fish. She would get more for the poor soul, but he had to eat something. She splashed a bit of water on his face, hoping he would snap out of the fainting spell. "Come on, Toboea! I've got fish -- and I'll get more. We don't have much time before the meeting actually starts, but I can shove as much food down your throat as possible before it does! So wake up!" She barked, voice urgent, pained. She was still shocked that such a wolf had approached her; she didn't smell like the healers sometimes did, and she certainly was not a healer. She frowned deeply, realizing the wolf before her must've been too desperate to waste time on scents. She nudged the fish towards Toboea and went to fetch Annelise, who was a healer. I do hope he's okay!

After she left Toboeas nose started to twitch his eyes slowly opening up and saw the two fish. Then from no where he bit right into the fish tearing a huge chunk of flesh from it.He ate the first on and felt a bit better.his strangth not full back he started to eat the other fish. the meat tasted so good and when it hit his stomic he felt like he had eaten a small pig.He looked at the bones and looked around."What the heck happend."He said as he reached over to the lake and got a drink of water."Ahh....i feel good as new...only slimer.."He said as he yawnd.he layed back down to get some rest.

Freya sighed, a bit miffed that she couldn't seem to find Annelise in the crowd. She turned back to Toboea, shrugging. "That should tie you over for now, but you're going to have to hunt as soon as you're rested," she woofed. Noting that Yozoran scent seemed near, she turned away and darted back to the crowd of wolves. The meeting was going to start soon, or so it seemed.
Mystic had managed to come to the meeting, as her pups were old enough to be alone for a bit. She swayed uneasily on her paws; something was wrong here....something deeper than just the dividing lines between the alliances that had formed. She felt dizzy, more than that, her mind felt dizzy. It was as if the entire table of fate had turned away from a place it had been rocketing towards, and now it was full-speed ahead in a new direction, something perhaps even more sinister.
Mist looked up to the stars, they seemed to blink at her, desperately sending messages from millions of miles away, messages she couldn't and was never taught how to read. Even the healers can't predict the death of a loved one. Even the endowed could not warn Mist that her life would be shattered here. Forever. She would never be able to tell Light the news that she had yet to discover for herself; she was once again pregnant. And he would never really know it. Or would he? Watching from Twilight?
