"Listen, Aya, and hear the hounds of hell. Now close your eyes, and you shall see them, too." She breathed over Aya's face, her breath cool and laced wtih some unknown herb. "My name is Mira, or as some call me, Silence. I was trapped in the depths of these fires for a very long time, and finally, I was set free. But others have been set free, also. They can hide easily, but now, you shall see them. There will be no one you cannot see. No one but one wolf who is out to kill you, and you are out to hunt them. They are known as the Breather, creating false images. But when you use your sight, they will be what they truly are; nothing. Use this gift wisely, Aya. And when the fires burn low, rise from this place. For now, sleep, dearest Seer." She breathed once more over Aya and padded away, deeped into the root tunnels.
Rye laid there like a useless lump. =p Natlia whirled around, trying to sift through scents rather than squinting in the dark. Her senses were nearly impaired by this dark, burning place, cackles of her unknown enemies echoed a ways off. She sniffed out a figure that seemed to be Anelie, buried in ash. Gently, but firmly, she pulled on the she-wolf's scruff, trying to release her. "Solaris, get Rye, I think he collapsed. We need to get out of here....there's something out there!" She woofed urgently to her brother. Solaris' auds perked, and then he took a grip on Rye and left the clearing.
Winter growled under her breath. "No, Vance, no! I'm not leaving without you!"

The darkness of the clearing cleared as the wolf breathed over her. She saw everything, then everything blurred, and she slipped off into a soft slumber. Her dreams were sweet, not anything like the firey chaos around her. [[that shoudl do it =p]]
Anelie followed the wolf to the end of the clearing, but just as she was about to step out of the firey hell, the ash that she had been breathing this whole time proved to much. She began choking and writhing, ears pinned to her head. Her knees buckled, and she crashed slowly to the ground, looking completely camoflaged in the ash.
"Winter!" he barked at her, "LEAVE! I'VE HURT YOU ENOUGH AND I- I.." Do it... it will save her life. "I DON'T LOVE YOU!" he snarled at her, hiding the tears that welled up, and the pain that burst.

Winter shook terribly, tears pourin faster from her eyes as she shattered once more, falling to pieces before the wolf she would forever love. "Then you can leave, but I won't until I know you're safely out of here. Because you might despise me, Vance, but I'll never stop loving you. Never," she snapped ferociously, determination like a knife through her eyes.
Nata looked back, spotting Anelie sinking into ash. She dropped back and dragged her out by the scruff once more.

"NO! LEAVE WINTER! I WANT TO BE OUT OF THIS WORLD! I WANT TO BE SAFELY AWAY FROM YOU!" he barked, his voice almost trembling. They were lies, all lies, but he would do whatever it took to get her out of the fiery hell. "LEAVE OR I'LL GIVE MYSELF A PAINFUL DEATH ANYWAY!" he barked at her in snarls.
Anelie was as useless lump at Rye was... =p

"Why should it matter to you if I don't leave, then?" She said softly, the pain in her voice thick. "Why should it matter if I stumble back into the flames and just burn where I stand? Because god, that's how it feels now, anyway, so let's just make it tangible, shall we?" She whimpered, shaking violently.

"GAH!" he shook. "WON'T YOU JUST UNDERSTAND ME?! I WANT YOU TO LEAVE! I WANT YOU TO BE SAFE! I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE---" he cringed as a crack sounded, and a larger branch landed his his hackles, pinning him flat to the ground. "I DON'T WANT YOU TO END UP LIKE ME! PINNED TO THE GROUND LIKE A RABBIT, WAITING FOR DEATH! PLEASE JUST GO!"

But Winter was beyond hearing anything. Her eyes were locked, wide, fearful, as a dark shape approached her, laughing softly. "Oh, hey look! It's my little neice! I was wondering when I would get to meet one of you...ah, well, shame you're such a goodie goodie. Hope death suits your tastes!" Without further warning, Risika launched herself at Winter, waiting there like a sitting duck.

Vance gasped, screaming, "WINTER, NO!" He tried to wriggle free, but he couldn't do it. His air was limited, and his life was at risk, but he was going to do it anyway. Fire flamed wildly behind him, burning his tail. It was his only way out, so he was going to use it. He backed up quickly, feeling the flames on his pelt, they burned like Hell, but he had to save his love. His silver fur a blackening, and falling off. He leaned on his back legs, ready, and he pounched, over the branches, landing so his claws were dug into Risika's hackles. He quickly bit down, eyes flaming, and he clawed up towards her neck. He bit down hard at her spinal cord, eyes flashing.

Risika ceased her attack on Winter immediately, giggling coldly. "Hm, what's your name, young'un?" She growled to Vance, snarling in pain when he dug into her scar-ridden body. "That's okay," she grunted through gritted teeth. "Go ahead, snap it. Don't worry, I'll still come back," she snickered, breaking off in screeches of pain

He didn't care what she said, though her laughs ruffled his fur. He held tight, ready to bite harder, and snap into her spinal cord. Quickly, within a mere moment, he snapped his teeth down hard on her spine, waiting to here a cracking sound, and for her screams to grow louder. Hopefully it would paralyze her, and not kill her. If it killed her, he wasn't for sure, but she might come back un-maimed. Without waiting, he leaped off of her. Running towards Winter. He grabbed her scruff, and ran towards home. Yes, he was running towards home. His blackened fur was falling off the whole time, his jaw hurt from biting down so hard, his neck and hackles bur from being pinned down by flaming branches, and he longed to be away. He kept his grip tight on Winter's scruff, though she was almost a full-grown wolf, so was he. When he was out of sight he broke away from the path going home, running towards somewhere else. Where? He was going to hide. Well away from Risika and the devil-ish Hellfire descendants.

(Hey, Des started a thread in the mountains for Vetra Vaticana's ceremony -- would you mind finishing it? =] )
Whether Risika made it out alive or died where she was, no wolf would ever witness. She was shrouded in dark and impossible to see.
Winter felt the clearing spin, slower, than faster, everything a blur, and suddenly it was black as she fainted in Vance's grasp.
Slowly, the clearing emptied of scared, shattered wolves, and the dark shapes moved forward. A circle was tightly knit, speaking in low tones that none others would hear. "SPLIT! I'll take due South, he'll take due north. We'll hope Black Fury has enough to cover the other two, or at least one. As others get in....we'll send reinforcements. MOVE OUT!"

[[alright ^^]]
Sabela howled, listening close for anyone else in the clearing. She gated around the clearing, using her scent of touch and hearing sense all others were blocked by the vicious smoke. She was looking for wolves; she was intent on letting no one be left behind to sufficate in the smog, or die at the claws of the Hellfire wolves. Her eyes watered a bit as the wind blowed, and debris was blown into her eyes. Another howl escaped her lips as she made sure, she wasn't leaving. Not now, not until she was certain everyone was back, even if it meant dying at the claws of one of these Hellfire wolves. She was practically alone, and she was weakening from the smoke, she'd be an easy target with the numerous wolves around her.

"Ah, it will be fun to take down an alphess....just for good times!" A low voice snickered. The monstrous form moved forward at a frightening speed through the smoke. He leaped at Sabela, hopefully pinning her and digging his claws into her chest. Bloodsbane roared with laughter, pleasured by his spotting and pursuit of Sabela. Who knows? I might even take a few lives here! Pretty darn awesome...

Sabela had frozen, but not for long, but for that moment she had frozen, it had given him enough time to pin her down and dig his claws into her chest. She howled a long note, she had been hit by surprise. No one remained, no one to help. Her oath not to leave without anyone, would possibly cost her a life. Her note stopped abrubtly as the pain in her chest began to throb numbly, she was a bit confused by the sudden ending to the pain, but she didn't question it. She slashed at her attackers face, and kicked her paws up into his stomach. As she did so, she slipped under him, and kicked her butt up, as she backed out, hopefully hurting him somewhere. When she was free, she decided it would be stupid to stay, there were so many that could aid him. She began to run out, trying to escape the hell, but as she did so, a full tree fell on her back legs as she was jumping through the air, all she could do was turn herself over, so her belly was facing up, which wasn't the smartest thing to do. She wriggled helplessly under the tree, trying to free herself. Even if she did free herself, most likely her back legs would be smashed, and crippled for life.

I feel a presence... Better get out of here like the others.
Ligua held his breath and tried to slink out of the Clearing. Unfortunately, just when he thought he was out...
"Ah!" He tripped over a log and landed flat on his face. The exclamation wasn't even a shout, but he felt it was too loud.
Ligua lay there for a few moments, hoping no one had heard. Then he looked to his right.
A wolf! He yelped like a pup, tripped backwards over the log, fell on his back, rolled over, hit his head on a rock, and lay still, breathing shallowly. I... hope... they didn't... see me...
(Yes, he just tripped over the tree that just fell. Lucky him. Again, tell me if there's anything wrong. ^_^)
