Moonwind looked down at Solaris and sighed. She looked back in the direction the wind was coming from. If she was alone she could take the old bull easily. 'There is no need to make a plan I can take it..' She thought sadly longing to run it down. Her legs tensed and relaxed with a very intense effort to calm down. Her tail swished ready to take it down, and to howl her triumph. She whimpered softly and looked back at them, the bull was moving away, and they had to hurry. "And whom do you think should make the kill shot? Just to add this in I'm smallest." She barked softly and smiled at them trying to be nice and yet not bossed around.

(....moose is typically a prey that requires at least two or three wolves to down -- for any wolf ^_^ )
Solaris nodded, thinking. "Well, you should probably try the killing bite, then," he woofed, frowning. "He's not going to go down easy -- he might be old, but by the looks of it he used to be a head bull of a herd. Most definitly will get nasty towards the end," Solaris woofed. He blinked to Moonwind and Talisman, then nodded, tail swishing slightly. "Already, let's go...." he murmured, dropping into a crouch and slinking into the brush. Trusting Talisman had hunted moose before and was ready to slink away into the brush in the opposite direction, perparing to ram the moose from the opposite side. Moose isn't too common these days -- sure, it's old, but it's a creature to be respected.

Moonwind smiled satisfied then slunk slowly keeping stricktly to the shadows. She knew something bad was going to happen to her when he said that, but she had to help feed the pack. 'To serve the pack with my life is the highest honor ever.' She tought and smiled to herselfShe tried to think of dull thoughts to dull her excited eyes. She crept forward and waited for the other two to charge the mosse. She stood infront of the bull and studied him. He was blind in his left eye, so that is where she stood. Infront of him but more to the left. He would'nt see her, but he would most likely hear her. She licked her lips softly and waited.

Solaris blinked back at Moonwind through the sparse, bristly brush, waiting for her to take the leap. As soon as she did, he and Talisman could be out. Really, its almost as if we move at the same time -- she just has to take the first pawstep alone ;; the initiative so the moose doesn't know what's coming. He waited at the ready, muscles and senses tensed and readied for forward movement.

She tensed once agian and licked her teeth. She tensed her rear legs, wiated a secon later, then jumped. SHe laughed right on her target. Her teeth flashed before he knew what was happening she had a very tight blood gushing grip. Her silver fur soon tured red with the mosses blood. He growled as the moose bucked and tried to bite her. She held on tighter praying for the other too to help her soon. Her blue eyes grew wide as the mosse started to lay down. 'No don't roll!' she thought but wanted to scream it, but she would not let go till she killed him or he her.

In a flash like dark velvet, Solaris was at the moose. He lunged for the flank, the moose already showing signs of the resistence he'd anticipated. But right now, his eyes weren't on Moonwind ; it was important for the she-wolf to stay atop the moose, but in order to do that, he would first have to bring the moose down to ground level again -- with the help of Talisman. His fangs were out, incisors working into rough, aged flesh and gnashing at the moose. It's hooves slapped the ground once more, but now it seemed to be preparing to do something Solaris had not seen a moose do in a fairly long time -- it was getting ready to charge and throw forth its head to thwart Moonwind's grasp. The kill would have to go down quicker.... "Moonwind -- he's charging. There's a lot of blood -- it looks like you got a vein, but he's not slowing....try biting closer to the spine....I'll try his throat from the front. Hold on really tight, okay?" He woofed, unsure and unconcerned of what the safety would be for him, but filling his mind with thoughts of his own starvation and that of his packmates. The moose's muscles flexed, ready to begin his charge in but a split second. In the same second, Solaris was out, tearing at the throat -- BANG. Solaris ducked to avoid the rein of hooves, narrowly missing a blow to his head but taking a rough beating to his flank. A long, deep cut ran along his side, but he jumped back to attack his flank once more. Okay -- that was probably stupid, but at least I stopped him from darting for now....though that tear I made in his throat really didn't do much. Didn't get a good hold.

Moonwind waited till the mosse was still for a second then fixed a tighter grip as hard as she could manage on his spin. The moose seemed to stumble. She didn't know what was happening or why. But this was working better than the first try had. She dug her claws into his back ripping up small chunks to make him bleed more. 'Please fall soon. Don't make me do this...' She prayed silently as she thought of something she could do but would most likely kill her.

The moose was giving great thrasings, but they were slowing and loosing their volume and intensity with a stunning but welcome swiftness. And just like that, in a matter of seconds, the fate of the moose was decided. The pain would be over for the valiant creature very soon.
Solaris backed up to give the moose space for its collapse. It was only now that he really took notice of the conflicting atmosphere. The skyline was pitch black, and visible as the veils of smoke had thinned to transparent, yet still tangible, sheets. Above, the sky coughed and hacked thunder, spluttered lightning, and began to spit patterings of rain due to the clogging that originated from storm clouds blanketing the sky. The clouds were gray and forboding, cascading, ripping, twirling through heavens with much suffering of disturbed insanity -- never were they still, always were they morphing and changing. Sparks flew up from a lightning strike not far from where the packmates hunted, though no flames were enlivened ; rain began to drizzle slowly, picking up pace and amount with every blink Solaris took.
Wind struck out and blew them back, a great force tearing at the trunks of dilapidated, leafeless trees and pressing the last part of life from the moose. Solaris gritted his teeth and narrowed his eyes against the gusting torrents, then turned to Talisman and Moonwind. "We need to get out of here -- I guess we can take the moose, but this looks like a really bad storm, and if it slows us down too much we might have to leave it. Camp isn't far, though, so let's see if we can haul it back without getting more help," he woofed, doubtful at the last part. Maybe if the moose had been smaller....but it wasn't. Three wolves would have to do, or no moose at all.

Moonwind's jaws puled with the pain of holding onto the wild bull, but she would not let this mighty kill go to a storm. She nodded to Solris and glanced at the blackening sky. Her fur clung to her small thin body, but showed all her muclses that would soon be screaming like her jaws. She lowered her head to a leg and looked at the others ready to go. She gave a small tug, but the moose barely moved. This would be a task in it's slef, but would fill the pack for the first time since the fire. She shivered softly at the cool rain running over her fur.

Rain was coming down quite steadily and densely now ; Solaris knew there would be no more use standing there and pondering their predicament. If they wanted to try to keep their complicated, well-earned catch, they would have to do it now, before the weather turned any more sour than it already was. With a grim expression, Solrais nosed himself under the middle, bulk of the moose because he appeared to be the most largely built of the three of them. Muscles protested and squirmed under his skin as he hefted it over his shoulders, blinking to show that he was ready to proceed. "All right -- let's go."

Moonwind droped her leg and when to the head of the kill. She slide under it and stood up. Her muslced screamed in pain but she found her footing a strode next to the brute. She wasn't taking as much wieght as him but she took all she could and more. She knew her duty as a warrior and hunter, Surfe the pack with ever thing you have.

Solaris nearly lost his position with the moose when the drafts of wind grew more violent and ravenous. Voraciously, the winds tore into his skin and pelt, pushed him back, pressed him forth, dislocated him from his proper place. He barely made a recovery on the moose -- one mistep could've locked and pinned him to wait for death by windstorm.
Grunting, determined, and also facing streams of fear in his veins, Solaris pressed forward, taking the first steps of hauling their heavy load back towards the camp.

Moonwind was being thrown around herself and fought for a footing. She found it and dug in as she steped with the brute next to her. She whimpered as a stick was thrown at her and lashed her muzzle. Her blood driped on the swriling grass. At this rate they would not make it back and she knew they had to for the pack. She looked around half blided by the wind, but she found what she was looking for. Her voice was amlost lost in the wind and she hoped he heard her say, "Solaris We need shelter now! I found a cave tot he left and the entrance is away from the wind!" She lokked at him then the cave.

Solaris nodded, now low-crouched to the ground so that the abused, shredded weeds and grasses could reach out and graze his nose. His eyes were shut tight, muscles bunched and quivering, the weight on his back pressing down harder, smashed against him by the will of the wafts. He nodded, then snarled. The sounding from the brute rumbled from deep in his chest and resounded steadily outward. One paw rose but breathless inches from the ground, a sudden updraft making this possible. As Solaris breathed deeply, the fickle current came back for him, viciously ramming against the moose and fighting warrior. Solaris yelped in surprise, his paw twisting with a sickening crack and the moose crashing down over him. As a result of inborn fight-or-flight, the wolf of ruffled midnight darted, three-legged, out from under the prey and swerved towards the cave Moonwind had mentioned. "Moonwind, we have to leave it -- we'll get ourselves killed trying to bring that up here!!" He howled to her, eyes flickering and searching for her familiar shape in the mess of rain and sleet.

She growled at his words and whimpered at the wieght no on her. She was pinned under the beast. She struggled adn finaly made it out to standext to him bearing a scrath from the antlers. She looked at the cave it wasn't far. Sh grabed it's leg and tuged as hard as she could. it moved a foot then stopped,as her paws slide on the wet and slightly icy ground. She wouldn't leave this prize here! She pulled harder and after whateemed like hours got it to a few feet away from the cave. She was shaking and being blown aut. There was no energy left in her muscles. She was panting and shivering from the strain on her mucsles. She was almost blown over as she looked around for the large outline that was Solaris.
