Moonwind looked around the camp as she worked on the nersuary paching holes and re-enfurcing things here and there. She glanced at the younger wolves around the camp. She wished she was young like them again. She shook her head and went back to work.

A male clad in a thick, mountain coat of nighttime rounded the bend and appeared near the nursery. He was a rather muscularly built brute -- but not in a menacing way. In fact, his demeanor today was just the opposite. Solaris was never the most social wolf, but Natalia, his sister, had had luck with making some friends lately, so he was inspired to try his own breakthrough. He caught sight of Moonwind and smiled kindly to her, something he did rarely. He padded over and sat down next to his packmate. "I would offer to help, but you're simply amazing: nobody else has been able to find fresh bedding or even sturdy wood for reinforcing the camp since the fires. I did get lucky with some moss that wasn't too terribly burnt the other day, though. Well, anyway, I suppose I could try and find some more if you want the company?"

She silver fur caught the sun light, and turned her to a silver only a star could turn, as she turned her head to look at him. Her blue eyes took in a very handsom brute, as she saw his smile her heart skiped. She shook it off and looked at the smile pile of wood next to her. She then spoke softly and calmly,"Thank you for that, but It's taken me a long time to find this little pile of twigs here." She smiled warmly at him which was rare for her the contunied, "You can help me with this if you would like. I would very much like the company."

Solaris nodded in understanding ;; there probably would be no more supplies to be found, at least for today. And in the middle of autumn, really, how much is the forest going to grow back? It's going to be a terribly hard winter.... He took some of the twigs gently in his jaws, noting they were still brittle, but they at least stayed in one piece as he wove them into the thorny nursery gaurding. "You're Moonwind, right? Sorry -- I'm not too good with names, and honestly I'm not really a social butterfly or anything," he woofed, immediately feeling awkward after he admitted to his solitary habits. Ah, well, it's obvious, anyway. Might as well let everyone know I'm not pretending to be something I'm not.

She smiled to herself at his words. She paused in her work and sniffed the air then shook her ears softly and went back to work. Her eyes shined as he spoke 'Wow that sounds just like me.' She looked at him trying to remember his name. "You are correct about my name. Your name is Solaris right? I know what you mean about not being social. I do what the pack needs me to do and by the time I'm done I don't have time left for talking." She spoke calmly with a warmness in her words.

He nodded when she asked his name. "Yes, that's me. And I know what you mean -- I'm close with my sister, Natalia, and that's pretty much it," he woofed, glad the awkward moment was over. Moonwind was apparently similar, so it didn't feel so weird admitting it. "I guess its a blessing and a curse we don't have any new litters right now," he woofed, nodding to a near dromant nursery. "I mean, with the forest having burned and it being autumn, not much will grow back before winter. We need new life in the pack for certain -- we're probably the smallest pack out of the valley's main four, but at the same time its better becuase of the issue of food." I'm worried for us. It looks like we're close to a fight with the Yozorans, too.... "Were you at the last Moonless Meeting?" he woofed, curious.

She looked at him wishing her brother was there in his back with her. She lookes back at her work and listend to him talk. SHe nodded slowly her eyes closing brefily. She put the last twig in place, and looked at thier work. "I wish we had some pups running around. I love them. They are so clumsy." She laughed trying to lighten the mood. "We could use more wolves though, and right now," She paused and looked around the camp,"we need meat. Would you like to go for a hunt?" She looked at him and fought to hid her hope.

Solaris nodded. "Sure, I'll hunt. But you didn't answer my question before -- did you go to the last Moonless Meeting?" He woofed softly, a bit curious why she'd avoided answering. He hoped he hadn't upset her or anything. Lovely. The first wolf I really talk to about more than just 'we're patrolling here, there...' and I've already got her upset with me. Ah, well, maybe I'm looking into it too much. Well, first impressions aren't usually the best, it seems. It's probably nothing.

She smiled feeling stupid and thought, 'He probalythinks I'm an idiot! Way to go Moon.' She looked at him and spoke barked softly feeling stupid,"Ya I was there. I got in trouble for trying to help Iver..." She figured he already though her an idiot, 'Might as well knows it without a doubt.' She looked at him and flashed a nervouse smile.

"Oh!" Solaris nodded, remebering. "Eh. Yozorans are just really prickly, that's all, and the leaders like too look all tough and macho in front of all the other packs," he laughed. "He probably did need your help but his ego was too big for him to ask for it or even accept it -- especially from another pack." He wasn't sure if she felt he was being a bit of a know-it-all or not, but really he was just trying to be friendly. He shrugged and then asked, "Where should we hunt?"

Talisman loped into the Sheeran Packlands, and spotted two other Sheeran wolves. She recognized one, the young she-wolf that tried to help stubborn old Iver, the Yozoran alpha, and got into trouble for it. she did not know the other one. She walked over to them and spoke.
"Hello. I'm Talisman."
She turned to Moonwind.
"Hey, I remember you! You tried to help Iver, but you got in trouble for it, right? Ignore them, they're all just stubborn by nature."
She smiled, before waiting for either, or both of them, to reply.

Solaris was startled at first by the sudden appearence of another wolf, but couldn't help another friendly smile -- this Talisman character seemed vibrant at first impression. Solaris remembered then that this was the she-wolf Natalia had hunted with the few days back. "Solaris," he murmured, introducing himself. "I think you've hunted with my sister -- Natalia? Well, anyways, we were just going out for a hunt, would you like to join us? It's hard to find food in the smoke so I guess if more of us are looking we'd get better results..."

Talisman turned to the male, who introduced himself as Solaris. She grinned, and replied.
"Oh yes! I did hunt with your sister, actually. She's a great hunter, like I'm sure you are aswell. And yeah, I will hunt with you guys. Thanks."
She smiled, and stretched her pillars, her light blue orbs scanning the land, waiting for the others to reply.

Moonwind tried to hide her dissapointment as the other wolf showed up. She listened to the she wolf's words then nodded, "Yes I am the wolf that tried to help Iver, Moonwind."she barked soflty and lifted her head. Suddenly she caught a scent and took of to a large hill. The top was above the smoke and she could smell and see better. She looked back at the other two below her. She spoke just loudly enough for them to hear, "I smell a large bull moose, who is close to death of age. He is about two hundered yards away."

Solaris smiled again slightly, glad that Natalia was breaking out of her shell, and taking away from it a stronger inspiration to break away from his own social inhibitions. He nodded, scenting the air. What seemed to be a momentary shift in the everlasting fog had made it easy to pinpoint the location of the moose. Of course it's nearing death -- any healthy, ripe prey either fled the flames, fled the mists, or got lost in either and perished. "It's a bull, so we need to stay away from it's front....the standard way of doing so would be to have one wolf on its back, making the killing move by biting the back of the neck, and the other two ramming the sides so it's too distracted to cause any harm to the one on the back...." he woofed, strategizing.
